Hi! I’m a new starting out virtual assistant. I would love to help you with all of those extra tasks that are taking up your time and keeping you from designing as much as you would like. My rate is negotiable since I am new! You would be my first client. If you are interested I would love to send you a portfolio and let you know more about the things I can do for you, and work out a price that fits your budget! Let me know if it’s okay to email you with more info 😊
As a graphic design student, I want to do side job these days and start my own brand.. I am not totally perfect or great but still want to achieve something. Anyway, Thanks a lot❤You helps me so much. Just direct to the point✨
What are y’all looking to know exactly? Like how to set up the store, printing, etc? I don’t do drop shipping so curious what people want to learn exactly so I can maybe turn it into a video
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:13 Stick to a routine and schedule everything in your calendar 00:54 Do deep work in the mornings when you're most productive 01:22 Have multiple sources of income besides just client work 02:04 Save during good months so you have a cushion during slower months 02:30 Sell prints, assets, and other products as side income streams 03:40 Allocate time for administrative tasks besides just design work 04:35 Have an online portfolio to showcase your work 05:30 Diversify your social media presence beyond just Instagram 06:12 Post more than you consume on social media 06:55 Be selective and say no to projects that don't serve your goals 07:50 Make time for non-work activities to fuel creativity 08:46 Set boundaries between work and personal time 09:44 Nurture relationships with repeat clients 10:13 Set aside time for personal creative projects
Say Yes to Non Work Things. This one resonated with me, Im actually more driven and creative whenever I go out and spend time with my friends and family. Thanks Jesse new subscriber here
10 months of freelance and your giving advice on the level of people who are in the industry for a decade. I am new to freelancing and it was soothing to hear good advice, thank you for taking the time to make this.
Yeah, quite detached video, since not everyone has a followers base as a tool for side income, and making the same amounts just as you leave your dayjob is not something most people would experience. A semi utopia is depicted here
I'm seriously so grateful for your content especially your podcasts...being able to hear conversations with bigger designers and what they learned isn't something anyone can do in real life often 😂 thank you Jesse 🤙🏽
The thing is... I also write, and I get feedback from my highschool friends who used to read my stories out loud. We created an evergrowing universe of chatacters-- so its pretty easy for me to get into that flow. I've made animations of them and everything. I just have trouble knowing where to apply myself. Thats what I mainly struggle with.
Bro you give super dope advice, what blows me away is your youth. Im an old guy but your mentality is so on point! So I put these 3 month digital design campaigns together that sell like hot cakes. I give my client three folders at a time depending on there budgets. Let's say we give them a June, July and August folder and in each folder it has either 4 graphics ads or 8. I design them to fit on IG then a different size to fit on FB and other platforms depending on clients needs. I refuse to do the posting because in becomes a bit much. However with this your client gets to post on all platforms weekly and all I did was provide the content only. You must also help create the campaign specifics, so that all the ads have some value to the clients audience and are effective. I charge $120 per ad on the 4 graphics for each month or if they get 8 ads per mo, Ill cut a deal and lower cost per ad to $90 per ad. There is absolutely no cost involved just three to five days of hardcore design but do the math... Hope this can help someone! Thanks Jesse
Thank you for this advice!! I just subscribed! I'm trying to enter the freelancer, more digital ground of graphic designing and I'll take it day by day 🌻
love the content jesse, you get right into it and are really direct, I also appreciate the b roll shots of you doing stuff because it's more entertaining and hard to get bored!
I study architecture but thanks to ADHD, thinks are going at its best (horrible). I hae been trying to find out what kind of a work and lifestyle I want and here you are giving me all the tips and tricks all at once in a few videos. Thank you brother for sharing insights of your job and life. Definetelly helped and now at least I know what to look for. Subscribed. Love
This is the 1st time I've seen your video (thank you UA-cam algorithm) and I really appreciate what you've done here. As a freelancer for the 1st year myself I resonated with all a lot of those points you've mentioned already. Thanks so much for sharing :)
Learned a few new tricks and double-down on some of my current habits. Subscribing to you now, I’ve seen your work on other platforms before. Super sick to find you here. Let’s keep climbing this freelance mountain!!
Nice! I recently started to punch the keys again on graphic design. It's been a few years sense I've been active in it, but I want to at some point open a business or just freelance. I would like for you to do a video on passive income jobs.
Jesse I recently found your channel you have really enjoyable content. I am planning to go freelance with my sister; this video helped me so much thank you!
Im glad i clicked on this video. Ive had my graphic design business for about 15 years now. Im experiencing a huge burnout due to being pigeonholed into being a “flyer designer”. Flyer design is very time consuming and unfortunately keeps you at the 2500-3000 range which in this economy isnt shh*t. Im sort of struggling. To keep this up and not shut down. From this video, im seeing maybe i need more downtime and a bit of a break for a while. Great video man.
if you cold DM a lot of people, try to connect, apply for jobs, everyday for 5 months, and nobody cares, does it mean that you suck as a designer? I find it really hard to land any projects lately, not sure what I'm missing, I have a website, a portfolio, a very great price for what I offer.. but nobody wants my services (?)
I def feel like you're not the only one. Just make sure you're being genuine, having a routine you enjoy, and that's all we really can do. You know yourself more than any of us do, as well as your business. But hmm, isn't this something you might wanna ask one of your connections, if you truly connected? Just what I would be thinking personally.
@@FloraSora Thank you for taking the time to write, I kind of get what you mean, but could you be specific? I think you are saying.. "why don't you ask your close-ones, family or friends as to why you might not be getting hired for work? Not sure, please clarify
See but i dont understand how to deal with taxes when im doing freelance stuff. The way ive been doing it is pursuing specific clientele. I dont use a freelance service because its so diluted with other artists. So i seek out the people who could use my specific services (stream overlays/Branding). So if i get like paypal for my work, how does taxes get into that? I dont want to get shutdown bc im stupid and dont know how taxes work.
Thank you. just getting back into design. been away for awhile (at least 6yrs). Any recomondations on buying the suites. At first just need the basics like AI,PS, indesign. i cant believe coral draw is still out there. lol. any tips would be greatly appreciated. thanks. I am subscribed so i will be running through all your videos.
Def think photoshop, AI and indesign are the best. Procreate is good too if you are into illustration and figma for ui/ux stuff. There are some free options too like gimp and inkscape
I’m very interested in graphic design a very close friend runs a full time studio with local artist always booking, I want to be part of that too any tips on selling a product to local artist?
Also would love to hear your advice on the Instagram algorithm...its hard to stay motivated to post everyday for the 365 challenge if no one is seeing it😭 like are some ways to maximize exposure/cool opportunities? Thank you!🙏🏽
Hi Sophia! I made a video about IG a while back you can watch that here: ua-cam.com/video/oorEyCEMbf8/v-deo.html Will be making a new video about IG and the algorithm soon tho.
For me it’s mostly word of mouth/recommendations or on social media. I made a video about this too: Proven Ways to Get More Clients as a Graphic Designer ua-cam.com/video/LoY-1y4H1_k/v-deo.html

the job market in general is dog water these days
Don't price yourself to low/competitively. It'll make your services look less valuable.
Great video

2:45 does this require marketing and other effort or do these platforms have enough users for them to drift to your shop on their own?
Im getting a degree in mass media but I still want to become a graphic designer is it still possible for me to become one?
How do you typically get your clients/projects? Word of mouth? Sites like Fiverr?
