Okay, firstly, just copy pasting my old comment, from a different video of the same product. Secondly, as someone who used to straighten her hair practically every day in college (I have embraced my curls since then), I have a few tips: 1) Hair straighteners are best used in dry weathers. If you live in a humid city, just throw it away and love the curls. I use mine only when it is winter time since Bombay is really hot/raining in the other months. 2) Make sure you wash your hair on the same day you plan to straighten. Shampoo/Conditioner and then air-dry your hair before using the ironing brush. It is important to make sure your hair is completely dry before you start straightening or will just fry your hair. When you straighten clean hair, the feel is just different than when you straighten day-old hair with a greasy scalp. (So if you have to attend an event in the evening, wake up early, wash your hair, air-dry it and straighten in the afternoon. In the evening, just put on your makeup and clothes and walk out./If you have to attend an event in the morning, do it the night before. Honestly, I prefer washing/drying/straightening at night simply cause then I wake up with straight hair that doesn't look fake because it has had time to settle.) Air-drying hair is best. 3) Section your hair and comb it first. You need to use a big-toothed comb to hold your hair instead of your fingers at the end of the brush, that way you won't burn your fingertips. 4) Please either turn on the fan or the AC while straightening so that your scalp and face don't get sweaty. Sweat = Humidity. Hair won't straighten well. 5) At the end, turn your head upside down and run the straightening brush once. Doing it upside-down will give it volume and make it look bouncy. Poker straight hair looks like trash/fake. By doing this, it will look natural. Trust me on this one. 6) Finally, please take care of your hair when you don't plan to straighten. Oil your hair at least twice a week (my fav is Roots Oil-In-Serum by Nikita Upadhyay). Always air-dry after washing. Eat your vitamins. Keep it covered int he sun. Eat protein (lentils and eggs and meat) for good hair growth. Honestly, straightening should be done once-in-a-while, for when you want to change up your looks a little. Curly hair is sexy and mysterious. After a point, straight is just plain and boring. I speak from experience-I had professionally smoothened my hair once, and for 2 years, until it grew out, I looked basic, like any other person. Curly hair gives you a sense of individual style since no curl is the same.
Hey, thank you so much your comment really clarified most of my doubts regarding using this. Can you please share that how did you manage with it while travelling? I mean to ask how you used to manage hair wash, air dry and then use this?
@@priyanshisolanki5596 Wash at night, 2/3 hours before bed, let it air dry and go to sleep. Wake up early and straighten. If you don't want to wash at night, Wake up really early, wash, let it air dry for an hour (in a well-ventilated room for faster drying), blow dry it 100% and then use the straightening brush. I often worked night shifts, went out late at night, etc, and one hack I found was after getting back (let's say at 3am, slightly unable to stand straight IYKWIM), I would use 1/2 drops of oil and crash on hairwash days. Then, I would wake up at about 6/7am, and take a shower to wash my hair and scrub myself clean from the previous night's shenanigans. I would then wrap my hair in a micro-fibre towel (my bestie) and pin it up and crash again. By the time I woke up at 11am, it would be dry, and ready for whatever abuse I was going to throw its way. Eventually, I hated going to bed without washing because firstly, I felt yucky and secondly, I hated breaking up my sleep hours, waking up for a bath and going back to sleep. So, I would carry a small bottle of hair oil to work (during night shifts), and at around 11pm, I would just go to the office bathroom and lightly oil my hair. Once my shift ended, and I reached home, it would be about 1:30 am. I would go and take a bath right away and wash my hair. Tie up in my microfibre towel, put on a sheet mask, and sleep straight like a vampire. I'm not lying when I say I would wake up with a dry sheet mask on my face and that towel in place (cause used to sleeping straight without much movement). I would wake up, have a nice brunch, get ready with such ease and so on. Now since I had loads of time before leaving for office/night shift, I would get dressed well and do my hair and light makeup (lipstick/kohl/moisturiser/blush). My senior producer often thought I was coming straight from the salon (or the makeup room since we worked in a studio). So, you can try that method. Honestly though, first check the temp and humidity of the city/region you're travelling to. What is the point of straightening if it'll just frizz up in the humidity or fry in the heat? If the region is dry, then fine. Otherwise, just have fun, try some sexy hairstyles. I just cut my hair super short and my life is carefree rn.
My thoughts in this brush as i own it, My hair is thick so it needs atleast an hour to straighten completely Doesnt last, maybe a day so I use heat protectant spray as it makes your hair hot and you may even burn your fingers if you touch your newly sectioned straightened hair I only use it on special occasion, doing it frequently will damage your hair. Once in a month or two weeks once is fine Its a nice purchase if you want straight flowy hair and it gives you bouncy volumous hair and your hair looks great too
If you have voluminous hair like me, this is not for you. It'd take you an hour to do your hair and that means a lot of hair fall and hair damage. Better to go to a salon on the few occasions you need your hair done. But if you have medium volume, go for it.
I just bought this yesterday, and washed my hair. I first used a normal brush and hair dryer to dry my hair. I used the Philips hair brush for the second round of drying to straighten my hair. I have African hair, curly and full. So using this brush on wet hair, would probably result in a lot of hair loss. So I decided to not even try doing that. So I got no hair loss from using the brush.
Hi first time I am watching you. Great!! you've solved my 'To buy or not to buy' question/problem, which neither amazon nor Philips could do. Already have a straightener which i am not comfortable using. so will definitely consider buying this. Love the way you present, crisp and short (could always make it shorter). At the risk of increasing my competition, think you should become a VO. Fluent, expressive and good voice. best wishes!!!

If you see steam whilst using it when your hair is dry, then that isn't good. This brush is drying out your hair big time and making it brittle n dry. One must always use serum when any heat is touching your hair directly . Everyone knows that heat dries things
@@banena90 it is the law of physics . Heat causes evaporation of water molecules from an object causing it to dry n at times harden. Lakes dry up during summer due to heat.
