Great review! I’ve been using the Cervelo Caledonia 5 for a few years, and I absolutely love it. It’s super stable, a fantastic climber, and feels very confident on descents. While it’s not a pure sprinter’s bike, it holds speed incredibly well. Such a versatile and well-rounded ride!
Caledonias (non-5) and Soloists are so sick and so affordable. I've had a Soloist (s/o to Alpenglow iykyk) since they came out and it has been a dream.
Once you get this rocking I’d love a video comparing this and the Aspero using the same wheels/tires. That Aspero 5 with the old geo seems like such a good endurance road bike that it’d be interesting to see how it stacks up against this in that realm.
Why frame storage is awesome: you put all the flat repair stuff in there that you hardly ever use, and leave the saddle rails available for an Xlab bottle mount, which you can use for a third bottle on hot days or an Elite Byasi for a jacket on cold days.
I'm coming from Conti GP5K's but I slapped some 38mm Pro One's on my Checkmate and it makes for such a fun endurance bike. The Pro One's have truly impressed. Just as good supple feels and durability as the Conti's.
Can't decide between a Caledonia to replace my current Road Bike or an Aspero as a 'do it all' bike to replace my road and gravel bikes. It's a tough choice
It comes down to what you want out of your gravel bike. Ultimately the Aspero 5 lacks tire clearance. You can email us or set up a call with Jesse to chat more about both bikes! www.thebicyclestation.com/custom-builds/
Someone bought that bike that we had a bit ago. It's super premium feeling. I had 40's on it and thought it was awesome. It rides closer to a race bike rather than endurance bike. I wouldn't describe it as an endurance bike
No UDH is the reason it's not on my list. UDH is now a pre-requisite for any new all-road bike (even road bike). We all know that it will happen and not having it is immediately being stuck on a non-upgradable future. Tire clearance is also a bit tight but the UDH is the real killer.
I bought a Cal 5 in oasis green after I herniated a disc. I have since moved on to a Supersix Evo and find it to be more comfortable, better on flats and climbs, faster, and more confident. All said, the Cal 5 is a bit of a dog.
@ Not trying to compare. I’m just saying the Cal 5 is not really that great at anything. It’s not even as comfortable as a Supersix, which is supposed to be the differentiation of an endurance bike.
I know ads keep these videos "free", but this one is upsetting. 45 seconds in and a link pops on for an R5 Ultegra at a store in Brooklyn. I wouldn't be happy if this were my video.
UA-cam automatically does that. I’ve been trying to remember to turn it off on every video. But it’s not like a setting you can toggle. You have to go back in and disable it. Super annoying

Likely the best reach and stack dimensions I’ve seen on any road bike in a long time (for truly being comfortable).
These bar tapes became kind of Jesse's signature lol love it

Could very well be my fav build and bike EVER! ❤
It’s the denim talk for me.

Did you consider using the Allied Echo as your endurance road bike?
great vid.
what was the specs on the Red crankset and what was the advantage? never saw a solid version before.

Will there be a review about the Enve Fray? That would be awesome!
its fascinating considering how many frames/bikes your shop goes through - that a completely slammed frame/fork is able to be resold.
I used to be worried about it, but basically it’s never been an issue surprisingly. I can’t explain why.
I think some people buy a geo they actually can ride.
So are they dropping the mountain bike??
When is the vid on Jesse and chase’s denim collection dropping y’all

Seems like you really like titanium bottle cages on every bike. Whats you favourite one and why is that?:)
Kinda my dream bike
When do you think you will drop aspero vs aspero 5
It's in the works
Still waiting on an update/opinion of the R5CX as an allroad bike… I am looking at it to replace my old endurace. PLEASE🙏

Caledonia or Soloist?
👌🏽👌🏽
In frame storage door is upside down.
Nevermind, looks like it must be that way for 2 cages.
more raw denim content
Damn those are slubbier than my PBJs.
Hallo From Poland/Europe/
i put a spare tube in the downtube storage, and forget about it.
bartape not for everyone indeed :)

Stupid comparison. Try the Cannondale Synapse versus the Caledonia-5.

Provide weight in kg, not just lbs. please.
I don’t want to
Wow, what an expensive bike
Roubaix SL8 is easy winner in all road/endurance category.
Chase has been riding the Roubaix and so far she's still saying that it's the best road bike she's ridden
