Michael Bay was a producer on this movie, which means he still had a lot of say in what went on in the movie. Kinda like how Christopher Nolan was a producer on Man of Steel. You can still feel their presence, because they are paying for a chunk of the movie to be made.
Whiteytheripper “faithful to the source material” is more a fan thing than anything. Most audiences don’t get caught up with how accurate something is to the source material unless they really follow something

Yeah, it had it's dumb moments, but back then seeing those big robots fighting on the big screen like that was pretty damn cool. However, I can agree that the next several films ranged from incredibly stupid to pretty lukewarm. Bumblebee on the other hand, I'm glad I saw that in the theater. I actually really liked it, and I hope that if more films are still planned that they take lessons from this film and not Transformers 2 through 5. At the very least, have Michael Bay simply produce the future films while having them directed by folks who don't try to pander to the lowest common denominator of audiences.

Technically they are not on Saturn but the moon of Saturn. They can be anywhere in range to hear the signal so that should not have a sin but they should not really know who sent the signal. Plus They could have intercepted him on his way to earth

Nitpicking your nitpick: Yes, that soldier in the back did have to give the halt symbol. Soldiers are trained to echo all hand signals to make sure everyone has seen it. So the nitpick should be that all of the other soldiers weren't echoing the halt signal!

I understand why you sinned it, but, for anyone that's curious, the last person in formation is absolutely supposed to put up the hand signals just like everyone else for two reasons: 1. Everyone is looking around in different directions, watching for hostiles, so someone might not notice the signal being given in front of them, so the more people hold it up, the better chance everyone will notice. 2. It serves as confirmation that each person has seen the signal.

You missed the biggest sin. There's a scene when Bumblebee is revving his engine after being stopped by the John Cena crew. Problem was that when he revved, the speedometer went up and down. Volkswagen beetles didn't have rev counters

You know what I liked about this movie? The transformations, especially with Bee. There was time and care taken to figure out how the bits would move around. You can really tell someone who worked with stop-motion animation directed this, because those sequences are really beautiful, unlike the absolute mess the prior films made of it (in particular the laziness of "Age of Extinction" and the Transformium nonsense).
The shot of Charlie looking up in awe while Bee transforms around her is genuinely one of the most awesome shots of the last several years. Sure, it was played to death in the trailers - BECAUSE IT WAS AWESOME.
I actually enjoyed the transformations in the first BAY movies. Especially when Optimus first transformed in first movie. In 4th one tho, they got REALLY lazy with that shit.

A cliche is the overabundance of its use. I'm sure you all will split hairs with me, but that is the foundation by which I'm basing this, and it's a common one. And yes, a character overcoming the death of a parent is a cliche. It's a common character device, especially with children. It creates an emotional conflict without having the need to introduce another character to the story. Rarely are these characters actually killed on-screen, the affect of that death would be different in the time allotted for the story. So their deaths happen off screen, often with a few weeks or months before out current story, giving our MC enough time to process the loss, but not truly be over it. Come on. If any of you took a writing class, or read, you'd know this stuff.

Everyone is looking around in different directions, watching for hostiles, so someone might not notice the signal being given in front of them, so the more people hold it up, the better chance everyone will notice. 2. You know what I liked about this movie? The transformations, especially with Bee. There was time and care taken to figure out how the bits would move around. You can really tell someone who worked with stop-motion animation directed this, because those sequences are really beautiful, unlike the absolute mess the prior films made of it (in particular the laziness of "Age of Extinction" and the Transformium nonsense).
The shot of Charlie looking up in awe while Bee transforms around her is genuinely one of the most awesome shots of the last several years. Sure, it was played to death in the trailers - BECAUSE IT WAS AWESOME.
I actually enjoyed the transformations in the first BAY movies. Especially when Optimus first transformed in first movie.
In 4th one tho, they got REALLY lazy with that shit.

A trope is a character enhancement that is used in a story. A cliche is the overabundance of its use. I'm sure you all will split hairs with me, but that is the foundation by which I'm basing this, and it's a common one.
And yes, a character overcoming the death of a parent is a cliche. It's a common character device, especially with children. It creates an emotional conflict without having the need to introduce another character to the story. Rarely are these characters actually killed on-screen, the affect of that death would be different in the time allotted for the story. So their deaths happen off screen, often with a few weeks or months before out current story, giving our MC enough time to process the loss, but not truly be over it.
Come on. If any of you took a writing class, or read, you'd know this stuff.

Even if you maybe don't know the name of the robot you know Optimus is the only one with red and blue flames, Ironhide has massive cannons on each arm, Rachet is the only lime green transformer, Starscream is a triangle, and Megatron is just big grey and bulky. Like regardless of have fast the camera is panning or jumping around there is really never a reason to not know what transformer you're looking at.
I feel like i'm literally the only person who had no problems telling the autobots and the decepticons apart during the battle scenes.
Hailee Steinfeld acted the hell out of this movie. She gave an emotional centre to a Transformers movie - should have given her another Oscar nomination just for that.
I don’t see how Bumblebee was able to fully stand in their garage, there’s no way he would have fit.
I legit watch theses videos for hours when i should either be doing something important or sleeping.

3:35 Hot Dog on a Stick was a legit hot dog place back in the 80's in a mall in Cleveland and they even got the outfit correct from my memory.
Hot Dog on a Stick started in California and still has 80 locations in the US and Korea

This movie was still worth seeing the Transformers look exactly like their OG selves. Something that should've been done the 1st time
