- In this episode 4 on the Blown 392 HEMI 1955 Desoto we attempt to fix the paintwork, can we save it or do we ruin it?
After removing the stickers that were on the car which peeled of the paint and feeling total devastation we have not been happy with any of the results whilst trying to save the looks that we have achieved although we have been making improvements we were not satisfied.
In the last episode 3 we did a lacework roof with a tonne of pearl (red/brown) and (gold) added into the first 2 of 4 coats of clear the results of which were amazing.
This week we went 1 step further firstly by adding more airbrushing to the sign work and the high gloss clearing the body of the car, but adding more pearl into the clear the first 2 coats of clear were full of (red/brown), (red) and (gold) pearls until we were happy with the change in the colour the 2 heavy coats of clear we applied and the end result is absolutely jaw dropping.
Then the car was detailed and the electrical gone over eliminating all the gremlins in the system.
To finish it off we purchased multiple different air filter styles to add to the twin holleys to finish the look and we ask you the viewer to chose which type out of 5 you like the best.
The car has come along way in the last few weeks from mechanical and paint issues to now running perfectly and looking like a show stopper.
It has only a couple more things to do probably 1 more episode and then its time to enjoy it until its next round of modifications.
Looking awesome!
Thanks
Airbrushed letters look sooo good!👌
Thanks
How cool!❤
Airbrushing the shadow on those signs looks heaps better ❤ still watching can't wait to see end result.
Thanks
You did it. That car will steal some hearts. I love custom paint jobs, I am not at all a patina guy but you nailed this one. My compliments. That car looks awesome.
Thanks mate appreciate it 👍
Looks fantastic, I am in awe of what you do.
Thanks
I like option #3 with that sun kissed paint job, and I really think the shadowing of the lettering is awesome! Looking good mate!
Thanks mate 👍
All the air setups look good 👍 1 for me.
Thanks 👍
Looks badass, great work ❤❤❤ love the paint colour choices. Turned this car into a jawdropper.
Thanks! 👍
holy crap man those pearls really make the car pop love the black highlights on the letters with the lace roof killer job!!
Thanks mate, yeah it's turned out real nice the camera doesn't do it justice
Love the airbrush work. I think it would look good with staggered 20 inch rims.
Thanks mate 👍
Looking brilliant, love the free hand airbrush work ❤ I'm up to the clear. It just gets better every time CHK, watching in parts, just got out of the spraybooth, will watch in parts as at work 👍
Thanks mate
@@copperheadkustoms my pleasure and option 4 🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘👍😎
@@MetalMania3DTV-TAS-AUS 👍👍
G'day fella, nice Job!!
thanks brooksy
I like option 4 because it is drivable and no hassle. and looks hot. or just number one.
but actually a mad max interceptor cowel blower cover would look sick.
I agree 👍
Looks good man... I vote 4 inch filters straight on the carbs...plenty of cars getting around now with more out of the hood
Thanks mate
Great job mate. Fine effort. It would look stunning in real life. Going to be a head turner. Maybe a fine lace on a scoop and matched on bumpers and outer rim parts of the wheel. With a dusting of pearl copper gold on the spokes. Imitate a engraved design. Maybe have to Lazer cut stencil for outer rims. Paint and a good clear over top. Wheels look good. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Just drive it. It looks a good fun car to drive. Build your rods. Have a good week. Thanks for video. 5 🌟. Take it easy. Adiós. 👍👍
Thanks mate appreciate it 👍
Pretty wild. That pearl sure gives it a cool look. Way better than gloss clear over patina. That car is way cooler than the day you brought it home. I like the stacks with the tall element mounted don top of those. It'll make the best power. But... for visibility's sake the straight 4" is good. That is what I did on my Willys then I put a small scoop over them. Just be sure to gasket the air cleaner studs if you don't put a scoop over it. I hydro locked a 350 Chevy when rain ran down the stud and filled the #8 cylinder.
Thanks mate, yes was worried about the rain I was planning on making a hood scoop cover.
4"" straight. Love the paint job... but...but I can't get over the " silver frost " bumper bars. Black pearl?
Thanks mate Yeah I'll get them rechromed it's just expensive
@@copperheadkustoms thought it may change the whole look with black bumpers and cheap 👍
@@chriswilliams5273 I thought about it the other day I'll do it on the computer and see what it looks like 👍
I say go all out and put 4s and stacks!
Haha I like your attitude
