As far as I’m concerned, Simon has a an absolute killer voice, John is a god-like bassist, Roger can hit skin like a demon and, Nick is a Grand Master of the keys. It’s just such a shame that Andy is retired but I fully respect that. Happy Days, boys ❤️ The 80’s were feckin banging. 🙏❤️🤍💙
This is my favorite version of "A View To A Kill" ! I love how Simon starts singing it slow & it builds to a crescendo... Incredible ! John Barry & Duran Duran rule .... !
Duran Duran are on my bucket list. Have been for 30 years. Just went to England and they not touring. Just my luck. Now Andy Taylor not well. Love this ballad.

Damn....that bassline though. The whole song structure....lyrics...chords...pumping 4 on the floor heartbeat!!! When all we see.....is the VIEW TO A KILL!!!!
I saw Duran Duran perform this song in Atlanta 2018. It was incredible. I kissed my husband during the song so we could say we kissed during a live Bond theme song! It too was unforgettable!
I was a kid watching Roger Moore descend that fire ladder as this score played in the background my ears are eternally grateful to hear it come to life...I actually visited San Fran last year and listened to this as our tour bus stopped at the building it was transcendent
1981 was the first time I heard this band here in Ireland. I was 12-years-old and even then I loved them. John Taylor's bass is nothing short of sublime here.
Duran Duran nailed this one. An interview with Roger Moore and the movie makers showed that the band and this song not only went to number 1 it propelled the movie into number 1 as well. Great Tune guys!
I miss the 80's. This is back when even what back then would have been seen as "Boy Bands" or "Pop Bands" not only played instruments but also wrote their own music. Duran Duran was a great band. They may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but even a man like myself who listens to everything from Metallica and Phil Collins all the way over to guys like Method Man and Nas.... I love Duran Duran... The 80's was one of the absolute best decades for sound, voice, and musical talent.
By the way, the in beginning performed Bond Intros are: 1:00 Goldfinger 1:36 Diamonds are forever 2:13 You only live twice 2:27 A view to a kill (of course..) But best of all: Duran Duran performing their killer Song!
This is one of Simon's most haunting, powerful, dynamic and evocative lyrics. His delivery here is lovely. The chord changes they came up with in collaboration with John Barry are mysterious and exciting. A View To A Kill is one of the most energetic and stimulating Bond title tracks. The arrangement is sonicly delicious too ....
Just found this version (prologue starting @2:28) of A view to a kill. Still goosebumps after 50+ in the repeat! The lower tempo and minimalistic sound gives it si much drama and put emphasis on the just perfect lyrics, knowing it was written within a week…
I love how John totally enjoys this ... it's lovely to watch him. Vicariously I feel naked ... not hiding anything ... why do so many of us become conditioned and cultured to hide our love for life and passion for being .... from the simplest things to the grand .... That's what John's enjoyment here makes me think of .... a digression, but a testament to the authentic creative expression that Duran is, I believe. :)
Not only do they perform their Bond theme, they also pay tribute to John Barry in an amazing way by playing his other songs too! Wonderful, Duran Duran, just wonderful!
I don't know about anyone else, but I have noticed that many of the live versions of famous songs are almost better than the original. This one is fabulous!
@@BrendaLee381 I thought that vocal was aboslutely fucking incredible. That is HOW to fill a stadium. Fucking hair standing power. Fantastic song sang fantastically well.

I agree 100%.
This is one of the best combinations I have ever seen and pure delight for any Bond & Duran Duran fan.
First bond movie I ever saw in the theater as a kid. The intro and the story of "view to a kill" was mesmerizing. Thanks for the performance.

Best ever Bond intro song. The 80’s music is the best.
I completely agree with your comment.
The best Bond theme ever, and still totally under appreciated for just how good it is.
No, that would be The Living Daylights
Top comment and I'm in total agreement...Gen X kids rock....f**k the haters...👍😎
@@ferd1572 yup a view to a kill and living daylights were the best out of all bond movies where as the newest bond song sucks ass
I still prefer "Thunderball" and "License to Kill", but this song is in my top 3! My top 5 is complete with "Goldeneye" and "Nobody Does It Better"❤
Goldfinger
Absolutely brilliant . John Barry what a composer. RIP
Love how they made this song so Bond but so Duran Duran at the same time. Awesome as always
The vocal is simply unparalleled

That was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I love how John Taylor was feeling it too...stunning!!
Right?!
John Barry + John + Simon + Nick + Andy + Roger = perfect James Bond song.

It is amazing how Simon has retained his voice over the decades. I think that is rare.
Have you heard Morten Harkets voice recently? :)
He KILLED IT! Underrated front man...

LeBon is distinctive.
John Taylor is looking very pleasing to the eye as well....
from 3:30-4:35 gives me the chills. used to love this song back in the 80's and still jam Duran Duran till this day!
It is absolutely different gravy
A view to kill was one of best songs Duran ever recorded
*the best
FIFU
It was the last recording before they originally broke up
it was their second (and final) no. 1 pop single in the U.S. .....
Up there with Ordinary World and Come Undone
Ordinary World and Come Undone were superior songs but this concert version comes close.
Probably my favourite Duran Duran live performance.
A great live band they easily deserve to be in the rock n roll of fame, great musicians and Le Bon’s vocals still sound awesome
This would without any argument be the best version of this song.
I agree!
The good old days when James Bond Films were an event and the music. Wow.
His voice is flawless

And to add to my comment. To the composer John Barry, a genius.
I went through a stage of Bond Theme song addiction - the theme songs for 007 are an institution themselves. This one's near the top.
everything before pierce brosnan was the best, everything after was crap (hated the alicia keys/madonna crap) they weren't good enough to be classics
Paulo Martins Roger Moore did not have a bad one in any of his films
This one made it to number one
Best Bond Theme song ever in my opinion
Well said.
Holy crap!!!! Just amazing. Simon CRUSHES this!
