All of the Matchups Explained in a Few Sentences
They are NOT in order so make sure to read all of them, since every bit of information can help you win these matchups ❤
3M: Make them play at your own pace, they re a *very interesting specimen to say the least*, in which they usually try to bait your fireball / poison so that they can get 3m or pump value, you re mainly gonna get damage from fireball / poison cycling since they like to play most things at the back, mortar is going to be an okay defense option but it can get easily taken down.
E Giant: DO NOT stack things because they can tornado, *kill egiant with what you only need to kill him*, placing more troops when the other could have done the job easily puts you at an massive elixir disadvantage, if they place e giant at the back you can mortar and bait out support cards early.
Hog EQ: switch lanes constantly, because they can get alot of eq damage in 1 side of the tower, | your little prince is key to defending hog as well as your mortar usually, it is a very difficult matchup to explain but make sure that your troops are not clumped together so they cant eq / firecracker and get alot of value
Logbait: slowly make a counterpush against them and use your log wisely | use your log when it can get alot of value, you can get chip damage with poison if they have alot of troops clumped together which can give you an advantage.
E Glem : Be a cheapskate when defending | kind of similar to e giant, bait out spells with skeleton barrel or use it at your advantage by taking out the bats | once again your little prince is key to defending E Glem.
Lava Loon: identify what spells they are using, make sure to mortar whenever its safe | whether they have no tombstone or have deployed lavahound and have no counters it is safe to mortar, and once again..... *little prince is key for defending the lavahound.*
MK Beatdown: i couldnt really get information out of that match because of that disgusting deck but | LP And knight are obviously gonna be your main defenses, identifying spells and support cards can also be really useful in this matchup because they can carry alot depending on the variation, similar to lavahound you can mortar whenever its safe to do so because its hard for them to keep cycling MK for your mortar if they dont have any other win condition.
AQ Graveyard: Pressure is very important in this matchup since they can turn the game around in just a few plays | If they AQ in the back you can safely mortar since it is often what they use to counter mortar, its very hard to explain because there are alot of variations of this deck but ; baiting out spells can guarantee you a safe graveyard defense or a counterpush with skelly barrel / mortar
MK: You want to play very passively in this matchup because of how aggressive they can be | Archer queen is often in this deck, so take advice from other matchup explanations like MK Beatdown and AQ Graveyard since it could help you win this matchup [ very weird deck btw. ]
Recruit Spam: its a very even matchup, you have the right counters but they can easily overwhelm you, you do have to make sure that your defenses can take care of their push since they could spell them out [ bait out troops or spells ], you can also poison cycle them out if they place cards at the back but it is very risky, your mortar is very useful since it can also defend their push [ watch the mortar placement guide if you havent already. ]
GGY: Save poison for the graveyard, your other cards are enough to take care of any other support card they have [ they usually have one of the 3 witches ] | *this does NOT mean you should always save it for graveyard*, since they can build a huge support line for the giant, Bait any spells they have since its difficult to defend their push if they can just arrows your whole response, mortar can be used if they play giant at the back since it can bait out any support card early, bonus points if it goes infront the giant if you re lucky.
Miner Poison LP: Most of the time if not always they run cannoneer and run 2 small spells which places you at an advantage, you can treat this matchup like 3M and control the pace of the game since they also can do the same to you, you can bait out their poison and spells with the Little prince in which you can mortar safely if they dont have any counters or instead of mortar | use one of your bait cards or skelly barrel, it is very important to save spells for their bats and wallbreakers, they are very dangerous to your mortar or tower.
Miner Poison Mother Witch: Very similar matchup to Miner Poison LP, the best thing is to not give them too much mother witch value and play your cards correctly similar to the E giant matchup | The difference with LP is that mother witch has a more aggressive playstyle, so you can counterpush against it but beware since they can get easy miner poison value and kill your counterpush.
So in an EVEN SHORTER explanation, you should know to :
1: Identify Spells, Support cards, Win conditions and Defense Cards
2: Know when to mortar, when to skelly barrel, when to play aggresive or passive, or if your troops are enough to take care of the threat
3: Be able to know what is their current cycle, what is the most likely response to the situation, and be able to turn around the game and win the match ❤

Yes of course! I would be very happy to!! I would say the placements are pretty much the exact same, with classic mortar you might be a tiny bit more defensive but that’s the only difference
@@BennyRoyale thank you very much ❤i like to play classic mortar but i think the way you play other variants is just so valuable to my knowledge about mortar because of how you make these plays that teach me a ton on how to play mortar that gets me out of my comfort zone, i was wondering if you had a video in detail about classic mortar other than the one you posted 5 days ago, i love this deck but everytime i play it i make a fool out of myself and do the best ryley impression with rockets

Good video, I seem to really struggle against all recruits decks. Do you have any more tips against recruits and hog eq decks?
Im running mortar knight evo, musk, goblin, bats,ice spirit,log and poison do you have any recomendation that I can change in my deck?
I would maybe take bats out potentially for another more offensive card! For recruits the best advice I can give you is make sure you are constantly pulling everything into the middle. You can even use your mortar for this if needed! Against hog EQ, outside of changing lanes, try to make sure you aren’t over defending a hog rider. Sometimes saving a couple elixir and taking one extra hit will allow you to get a much better counter push and cycle!
@@BennyRoyale Thank you for the tips. I used to play miner but I swapped it for ice spirit, Im thinking if it would be good to use skeleton barrel or battle ram as offensive card as an evo too. Do you think it could work?

I would go in the order of:
Little Prince / musketeer
Goblin gang
Mortar
Knight
Then after this it doesn’t matter to much. The only reason why I put goblin gang above mortar is because you want your goblin gang to be high enough level that it doesn’t get completely 1 shot by zap! Once you have this, I would do mortar :)

Of course!! I really like the deck truthfully! The only thing I would maybe consider is swapping the hunter out for maybe another spell, but hunter is a pretty solid card right now with all of the beatdown meta so it’s definitely not bad to keep in if you prefer
Is the poison/bomber version viable with muskie in place of little prince?
It is! The only reason why I’m not running it is because bomber is 2 cycles now, but it is 100% still really good!

How you deal with Royal Giant?
Im playing the poison evo bomber variant with canonneer tower and im getting cooked by egolem, hog eq and gy decks
I just gave up today my rush cause Im so tilted of the game right now, I think all decks are countering mortar bait with canonneer as tower, no brain decks everywhere 🎉
Totally get that! I’ve had a lot more luck against all graveyard decks running poison, but I find hog eq matches can sometimes be more difficult without fireball to get rid of the firecracker immediately

I want to start playing mortar, what do i do to start, as i cant defend big pushes?
I would start with making sure you’re always saving little Prince for the big push! Is there a specific push you’re struggling with? I can give you some matchup advice for specific ones!
I'm struggling with defending megaknight hogrider lmao
Is there a specific card that makes the defenses easier? I feel like my deck is fine it's that Im not good enough to beat huge pushes and I always seem to let them build up large attacks
Also, as a new player should I start with an easier deck?
Yes! So for mega knight you 100% have to save your knight to defend. My go to is to save my knight, play it right on the mega knight, then little prince behind. If they play a hog rider as well, try to pull the hog rider up high using your mortar after you distract the mega knight with ur knight. I will try to get a clip of that for you to show what I mean!
