- ❖ I've composed this music Theme as a commission for an environment, "The fulgurscar Desert", of a fantasy narrative setting called Yscalia written by Nicolas.
Collaborating with Nicolas is always a pleasure. His settings are unique, and his imaginative vision consistently allows me to immerse myself in worlds that don't exist, yet the details justify the writer's choices and remain coherent despite being fantastical, much like a sci-fi masterpiece. In this case, I delved into the Fulgurscar desert, with its geological mutations that have transformed flora and fauna to adapt to an environment with extremely high electromagnetic charge. Below is the description featured in the video:
"The Fulgurscar Desert...
A region that was formed overnight when an asteroid impacted the planet, wiping out most life in the impact zone and erasing all obvious traces of previous civilization.
The asteroid contained a large concentration of stellar iron, scattering throughout the impact zone after detonating on impact.
What life remained adapted, or some would argue mutated, over time to these new conditions to survive and even thrive in this new environment, most notably the ability to generate and control large amounts of bioelectricity.
The climate in the region was also a victim of this special assault, becoming unstable and now frequently besets its inhabitants with electrical and dust storms, as well as the feared “Slagfall.”
Those who call this region home are descended from various peoples that were displaced from their homelands for one reason or another and seek to secure the unique resources found with, even augmenting their bodies with the flesh of native fauna.
For in Fulgurscar, any oasis, any advantage, must be seized by the throat at all costs. "

At a musical level, I combined ethnic elements with synthesizers, creating an electric duduk that portrays both the desert-like sense of the East and the altered electromagnetic component of the environment.

I really love this track. Lots of imagery of a steampunk (or maybe just punk) desert vibe. Kinda gives me a little Samurai Jack walking through a unique land vibes. Will this be on spotify?

I'm glad to get feedback, especially on the tracks of this Yscalia project, because in addition to being unreleased tracks, they are starting to define an aesthetics for these incredible settings invented by Nicolas. Concerning Spotify, I was probably thinking about releasing the tracks once I reach a certain number to make an EP or an Album.
Makes me think of Prince of Persia or Dune and I mean that in the best way possible!
