Austin’s portrayal was impeccable. To accuse him of participating in the decision when to release the movie is utter is so asinine and preposterous there are no words to describe that statement.

Saw the Elvis movie 30 times in the theater ... yes, 30 times ! I admit I'm a life long Elvis fan but what brought me back again and again was Austin ... he didn't just portray Elvis , he embodied his unique spirit in a way that tugged at my heart strings . God bless him for bringing Elvis to life again for his old and new fans ... TCB forever !

It was a must see in the theater, the sound was incredible. I saw if four times and purchased it from Prime and bought the DVD. We have a home theater room and that's the only place I will watch it.
Austin is truly a special human being. Even though he is gorgeous and talented, he is humble, kind and compassionate. I hope Hollywood and fame do not corrupt this sweet soul.

I agree. He should win, deserves to win, goes from naive kid to a sad, depressed and sick 42 yr old man. Every emotion, 30 year decade of brilliant performances and brought Elvis to the forefront for a whole new generation of fans.
Please remember, that, though Elvis isn't selling quite as many records, though he still does, that he, with Elvis in Concert, with live band and singers on stage, him on big screen, has traveled the world since 1997 until covid. That since 1977, 600,000, differing some years, have come to Graceland every year. Elvis has never stopped since he sadly passed. He still employs many hundreds of people. I am glad he is "out there" because of this movie and Austin's portrayal in it.

Agree with another commenter about watching many films (including all Oscar nominees this year), in theaters and streaming, and only being amazed and entranced by Austin Butler's performance in Elvis.
Liked several other films very much, but only Butler 110% conveyed an emotionally moving full spectrum of human longing, creative process, varieties of love as well as sorrow, victory as well as despair, joy alongside spiritual resonance. Loved too his singing and his "moves," truly a dance art form, and the homage both to Beale St. origins and the prodigious talent of Elvis. What a movie! And an all-time great and totally superlative performance by Austin Butler!

I respect Mr. Fraser but his role in "The Whale" even can't stand near Austin's perfomance. While Fraser was acting in fat suit, Austin was living a life of Elvis on screen, he BECAME ELVIS PRESLEY. He nailed at 100% voice, dances, manners, look of King, he put the whole soul in his work. Before Butler so many actors was tried to play Elvis but everyone failed. But Austin made a MIRACLE, he made Elvis alive again for all generation now, he find a true "HUMANITY" inside of King and share it with people around the whole world. Nobody's gonna remember Fraser's "fat suit role" in a 2 months, because we see sucn random roles every year during awards season. But Austin Butler perfomance already made a history in cinematography and will be remembered by millions people around the world.

I’ve gone back and watched some of your earlier projects i.e. Carrie Diaries, Shannara Chronicles, etc. and just want to remind you that in any career there are ups and downs … even people who have gone to college and gotten a degree in a specific profession, there is always a lot to learn when starting out, before becoming a success in a profession .
You have come a long way at building your craft bit by bit, and seems like you are well on your way to becoming a master at it. Never underestimate the parts you have played in the past because each one shows how much you have learned and how far you have come. Even the smallest parts at the beginning of your career add life to the rest of your career. I’m not sure if this makes sense or not, but just want you to realize how far you have come, and that what you did in Elvis, is the culmination of your years of study, and listening to your interviews since Elvis, is a testament to your dedication and commitment. Many of us (whom we now refer to ourselves you as fans) are just so proud

Anyone who tells me that Brendan Fraser deserves the Oscar more than Austin is gonna get booed. There is just no comparison. Elvis runs the table of emotions from age 19 to 42. Austin had to sing and move EXACTLY like elvis because there are films showing what happened year after year, performance after performance. Brendan acted basically in one room. Yes it was sad that a man weighed so much but come on, is that what the Oscars is based on? I'm puzzled why brenden is even preferred over Colin Farrell who definitely acted so well in banshees.
