As fucked up as Otto is… he spoke MANY truths in this episode. Aegon with Cole at the helm? Couldn’t get much worse….
But if war is inevitable then there isn't a better person in green than Cole for it

The Attack in Rook rest is very Bad Move yeah its a Trap against Black Dragons but the results is Terrible for the Greens the Blacks lost Rhaenys & Meleys aswell the Lord of Rook rest but incapicated both Aegon II & Sunfyre taking them out in the Majority of War and Loosing Two/Thirds of there Main Forces .
2.) The Attack to Harrenhal is purely done by Crispin he fuckingly took the Majority of Men & Knights in Kingslanding to moved while Living with a Skeleton Forces with the Gold Cloaks that are obviously Questionable of there Loyalty while there is a massive threat across Blackwater bay The Velaryon Fleet & there Dragons .
( 1.) the right moved in 1st is to wait for Either Hightowers from Oldtown , Baratheon from Stormland & Lannister from Westerland to converge in Kingslanding while in there way destroy each Black supporters then the Combined Forces with Vhagar & Sunfyre Attack Black Forces in Driftmark & Dragonstone.
(2.) In the Second Crispin does not need to take a large numbers men & forces from Kingslanding he can take only few Hundred men & Vhagar is Fucking enough.
HECK AEGON THE CONQUEROR GAVE THE BULK OF HIS ARMY TO RHAENYS & VISENYA AND ONLY HAVE FEW HUNDRED MEN AUGMENTED BY BALERION IN ATTACKING HARRENHAL.
So Crispin being called Great Leader & Competent Commander is Fucking Baloney

When Otto Hightower nopes the hell out, you know you’ve fucked up. This man has spent *decades* grasping his way up, and he chooses to give it up rather than fight for it, rather than convince Aegon to change his mind, rather than use action.
When Otto Hightower does that, *everything is fucked.*
I find Aegon so compelling... excitee to see his arc in coming episodes

Arryk and Erryk's death saddened me. Great performance by the twins. Their characters reminds me of Noah and Basch from FFXII.
The BTS for the episode the twins talked of how they’d been preparing for that fight since season 1. It was all the two of them besides the one part of the fight when one brother gets thrown in a way a stunt man had to do it. Otherwise it was all them and the work they put in.
As a book reader, I knew it was coming... but it didn’t make it any easier. .
Best and most emotional fight we’ve seen so far (minus the dragon chomp in season 1 finale)

The Greens: know the Gold Cloaks are loyalists of Daemon and could be a potential threat
Also the Greens when knowing a Gold Cloak is the culprit: *surprised Pikachu face
Put yourself in Argon's place Aegon wants blood and revenge while Otto uses his son's death as tool for war without showing any grief
I really liked Otto in this episode, probably for the first time ever. And I'm glad that we were shown his wise side. He was the right Hand of two kings who managed to maintain peace and rule wisely. And this was largely thanks to Otto. But in the end, his time passed, and he took on his soul a sin for which the royal family will pay on both sides.
And of course, thank that they FINALLY mentioned Daeron, who should have appeared in season 1, so as not to shock the audience now, but we have what we have...
P.s. Aegon played by Tom Glynn-Carney turned out great. There is simply no more controversial character in the series. He literally drives you crazy, goes from hate to love and in circles.
Agreed! I really found myself agreeing with most of what Otto said in this episode. Furthermore, I appreciate that he finally showed respect for Viserys and all he tried to do.

My favorite part is when Otto acknowledged that he misses Visaerys.
I feel like this episode definitively shows why Rhaenyra is the better pick for ruler. She does not let emotion control her actions and she has a sense of justice that Aegon does not as seen when Aegon hangs the rat catchers.
This is also Aegon's first murder of innocents. So he is as bad if not worse than Rheanyra
@@rexibhazoboa7097 It's his first time directly being involved in ordering someone's death. But he allowed and spectated at the child fighting pits so he's also indirectly responsible for their deaths too.
I would agree that she’s at this point the better option for ruling but having read the book she’s also an equally bad option but obviously the shows not cannon so they might make her an acceptable option who knows

Im with Vanessa I can’t stand Crispy fucking Cole with his self righteous bull shit. The actor who plays Aegon did a great job in this episode.
The day Criston Cole dies will be f'in glorious. More glorious than when Joffrey choked to death.
However, until that day comes, I will give flowers to Fabien Frankel. Not since Jack Gleeson have you ever respected an actor for making you despise a character with a passion.

I really liked the Scene with Aemond in the Whorehouse with the same lady who eyeballed him in Season 1 when he and Criston visited looking for Aegon.
Her playing with his hair as he reveals his feelings towards the Luke incident in season 1 is a good scene.
She's the one who took his virginity. Before they arrived to the brothel he said to Cole that Aegon take him here "because it's Time to get it wet" and she looks and recognise him saying he is a man now😊
Very telling scene in terms of Aemond returning to the person who sexually abused him as a child (it doesn’t matter how he got there, but more thanks to fucking Aegon). He reverts in her presence. He’s vulnerable with her. It’s a sick double-edged sword. He doesn’t feel safe with his mother, he can’t be soft anywhere else. Sadly, the only place is with this woman. Poor Aemond.
Viserys cared more about his lego than the rest of his kids Aegon had every right to destroy it because Viserys was shitty father to him

Viserys wasn’t hands-on but he was old and sick for their entire lives. Even still, destroying something that intricate and significant isn’t an acceptable way to display your displeasure with your father’s parenting.
Aegon only gets a partial pass here because he was grieving and out of his mind.

I’m with Daemon the whole way, Rhaenyra has him sitting around doing nothing while the greens plot their plans. The blacks have far more dragons and they have the strongest houses behind them. They could have all their heads on a spike by sundown if she just allowed Daemon do to what he wanted since season1
The grain falling in the funeral scene looks like when Dany burned the city and ash fell from the sky.
The way Helena looks at the sky makes me think that is the moment she’s seen the end of the Targaryens... and due to her grief she will never tell another of it bc no one hears her.

They may play it off that way but... I think after seeing the prince killed and decapitated and the outpouring of sympathy, hanging all the ratcatchers isnt going to bother them too much. The immediate family, sure, but the masses will kind of understand even if they think he went overboard... a ratcatcher was involved and the ratcatchers were hanged..

The 'Daemon is scared of his dragon, not Aemond' thing is kind of funny. Aemond is right. The entire plot of Daemon telling them to initially go after Aemond makes Daemon look weak, given the fact that he knows about the tunnels, probably better than anyone living. If he wanted to, he could have done it himself. Aemond is right thinking Daemon is scared of him. And it is not like Daemon has proven to be this masterful fighter.
We've seen him cheat to defeat Gwayne, lose to Cole twice, beat the crabfeeder (lol), kill his wife, kill a guard from behind, and kill Vaemond from behind. It's not like he is this ultimate warrior. lol
I mean I think you are misconstrueing his portrayal.. his MO isn't to be a honourable warrior (although he went toe to toe with Cole who is canonically the best warrior in the realm at this point), but to use any means necessary to achieve his goals.
At the very least, he's one of the most proactive characters in the show.. and we all know how his arc ends.
The reason Daemon couldn't do it is because he is one of the most recognizable people to everyone in the castle. He would have to fight through a few dozen people at least just to get to Aemond
