That right there is how we are meant to enjoy our short life we are givin here on this beautiful blue marble. If got gets on youtube he either has or will have a subscription on this channel. That is livin my friend.....thanks for taking the time to share with us.
Can you please do a "how u started flying" vid? And include how u got into bush flying/tail wheel/etc and how u approach staying current for emergency procedures? Really loving the vlogs!
Idaho back country has some awesome places to fly into. Used to go camping with my dad every summer back when he used to fly Piper... Thanks for bringing back some awesome memories...;)
I've got six MFS rafting trips as a private boater, and can attest, I can't wait to get my license so I don't have to draw a permit to visit these amazing places. Great video! Wife and I love the breakfast at Sulpher.
Dude, this was amazing... Oh, the memories. I ran the Middle Fork back in 2008 in a kayak and we flew in to Indian Creek for the launch because the headwaters were too low. My kids still wear an old tattered Flying B Ranch t-shirt to this day. I just returned from Idaho last week where I ran the Main Salmon from Corn Creek to Riggins. Love the videos Scott. Keep them coming please. That approach to Indian Creek though... 😎🇺🇸
Great video Scott. Went into all those strips in my 185 last year with Mountain Canyon Flyers, and just spent a week fly fishing on Big Creek upstream of Cabin Creek. You should make a shout out of thanks to the IAA and RAF, and Big Creek Foundation for maintaining all those strips - and our right to use them!
I did all that in 2008 & 2009. Mostly alone. I wish I would have had some flying buddies to go with. I wanted to make it up to Idaho, but didn't this year. There is something incredible about Idaho air. At least I made it to the Utah airstrips around Canyonlands NP this year. Love flying in Idaho and flying the Kitfox! Thanks for sharing.
Spent 7 years working in the country around Johnson Creek and Big Creek, and am so glad to see people using the area to connect with this life! Check out the Reed Ranch Airstrip on the South Fork for some decent camping and salmon fishing when they're running.
You're doing great on the Vlog. More importantly, you're getting out there enjoying the weather, backcountry flying. AND taking us along! For that, I I thank-you
You really got my attention when Trent's engine failed. Man, you had his back, working day and night to get his plane back in the air. You're a natural in front of the camera, fun to watch. The scenery is awesome. One of the Flying Cowboys......looking forward to riding along in your adventures. Thanks for sharing !!!
I used to access remote beaches via airplane for fishing and surfing, usually no problems. However, dea and customs gave me an introduction to the tarmac (face first) on a return trip one time.
Idaho is so FREAKING awesome. I live directly under the downwind leg at KMAN. I see your Kitfox some times, and Steve Henry all the time. Watch for me, I'm getting my tailwheel endorsement in my cute yellow Luscombe .
Scott, watch out Trent. This was an excellent video.Beautiful country, high def. cameras. So cool u can fly in and fish or what u like with no people...or a few. Thanks,Dennis
Hi, Scott. Easy to see you have a long time love for flying, and you are quite good at showing us how it feels to be alive. Your new right wing camera did a great job during approaches and down in the canyons. Loved it! Keep it up, you have a good thing going here :)
Hey man. Thanks to you and your brother for both of your sites. You guys are so blessed to have such a big beautiful playground. You have both inspired me to go back and get my license. Thank you again and keep up the great work on the videos.
You guys have WAY TOO MUCH fun... I'm so so jealous When I had that much fun... folks on the ground were shooting at me. Your beautiful landscape is also be envied. Props to those that can do what you do.
Quite the playground you live in...Nice job on this video. Thanks for not playing that electronica garbage too....The picking music suits this so much better.
Excellent Scott...always wanted to learn how to fly but at age 70+ and retired on a fixed income I'll have to be satisfied with you and the rest of the flying cowboys letting me enjoy your adventures through the wonders of video...😎👍🛩
Rick, have you considered part 103. Ul, para etc you are very lucky to have this available in USA. You can build your own, or perhaps buy used. It does require more knowledge of structure etc but is more fun ,less expensive and with the right guidance and attitude safe. I’m also 72 and hav flown both types for40 years.🇨🇦
........or another thought Rick is to talk to people around the airport and see if anyone is looking for a "fly buddy". I am a pilot but haven't flown in years simply because family and friends weren't interested and I was doing all my flying alone. It would have been nice to have a"fly buddy" to go with me on different trips and destinations!
Had a 5 day float down the Salmon River back in 96 and was on a complex fire about 20 north of McCall back in 89 some of the most beautiful country I have ever been in , Thank you !!!
PS That is MY KIND OF BREAKFAST @13:33 ... I would order Two of them with 6 Over Easy Eggs on the side and then Sleep until somebody says I have to do otherwise ... HEAVEN I can actually smell that fresh mountain air and down wind a little hint of bacon that makes me hungry all over again Thank You again for uploading this
Scott.... Love flying up in that area. I enjoy Trout & Eggs at Smiley Creek... Don't you just LOVE the new RELIABLITY in your engine setup after the rework?? I usually think about how nice my Rotax is running as I wander down thru those canyons following the rivers... So glad Big Creek is all back together again! Big Creek is definitely a Destination for Breakfast! Do they still have a couple rooms to rent? Johnson Creek is a great place to stay as a Base Camp as you're finding out. Yellow Pine is interesting and sometimes a lot of fun.......Your camera work is looking good! Good to see your engine running reliably and YOU having some FUN!! Weav
I just rode my folding bike from the Yellow Pine strip to the old Stibnite townsite and back, 41 miles , a lot of history up there! If you are flying without a folding mountain bike, you are missing out!
Thanks for sharing Scott. Johnson Creek is awesome! We (a Mooney squadron from CA and FL) used to visit on many July 4th holidays in the early eighties,. That strip is so nice even a tricycle landing gear can get in there with relative ease!
So hooked on you and Trent's vlogging. Narration and your chose of background music is good stuff. Wish I had taken up flying at your age. Keep em coming!
thank you for showing us the Restaurant. so many videos don't show where they have breakfast and or lunch. some of us would be more apt to fly to these places that ya"all go to, I know whining. thanks for the great videos.

Running the river in a boat is a lot of fun, but flying overhead is pretty sweet
