does the amount of water we add depend on the amount of rice... like how much water for how much rice.. or is it simply that you wait to see some water left above and bubbles and the cook for another 13 to 15 min on low flame? please please reply
Thank you. Mainly to prevent the condensation from dripping down onto the rice. It usually forms under the lid and will mess up the rice texture if wr don't use a cloth. Cloth also provides a tighter seal.
I’m always scared to cook rice.. when we throw in the rice, how long shall I let it cook? Then when you open again to add cumin seeds, and cover with a cloth, shall I leave it for 15-20 minutes? Thank you so much!!!!!
Don't be. When you add the rice in simmering broth, let it cook for around 8 - 10 min until you see bubbles on the top and there should be some water left. Then reduce the heat to low, and steam for 13 - 15 min. No longer than that.

When the water is reduced and starts to bubble, then cover and let it cook on low heat
