When I was 12 years old I spent the night with my aunt in Pearsall, Texas and we went to a bar called the Oasis and George was playing guitar and singing there. My uncles hunted with him on his dad’s ranch in Gardendale, Texas not far from my home in Cotulla, Texas. I remember being so happy for him when one day riding in the car with my granny a song called "Unwound” came on the radio and I screamed in delight, “That’s George singing that song!”

George is and will always be my favorite singer, I adore him. When my husband and I were married 28 years ago our music and ceremony revolves around his songs.
Seen him 6 or 7 times. His music is amazing and that is a beautiful house. But I have always pictured him on a ranch.
That's why the house is for sale. They've moved to the ranch.

I grew up in the same town with George Strait. He & his brother Buddy were 1 & 2 years behind me in high school in Pearsall, Texas (50 miles southwest of SA). His Father was our Science teacher he taught me & my siblings. George used to go and play pool at my brother's pool place, The Rock House. Lovely home best to you & your family.

My husband was a truck driver for a well known cement company here in San Antonio. One day he called me saying him and his crew were pouring a huge driveway for a mansion in the Dominion. The guys were in awe of this property. Halfway through the job, which took about a week, they found out it was George Strait's! Many other celebs live in the Dominion, it's such a jaw dropping community.

Absolutely beautiful! My husband and I lived in San Antonio for a little while. He worked for small insulation company. He was the only one that was ever allowed to get in Dominion community. He was nick-named the coon-ss from LA.

Have loved George since his very 1st song. Just Watched an episode of Hee Haw on UA-cam. George sang my all time favorite Amarillo By Morning and A Fire I Cant Put Out. You can hear the difference in his voice from this early performance to today. Now when he sings the latter song he sounds exactly like George Jones in the opening line..."I'm finding out how hot an old flame can burn.." go listen. He has aged like a very fine wine....and his voice...oh Lord that voice..deeper, sexier and smoother than a bottle of Codigo 1530!

It was for sale 2 yrs or less ago, i think they’re downsizing, he also has a big spread with a smaller house just south of Catarina Texas along Hwy 83 about 2 to 3 miles just north of the Border Patrol station and he has his own small landing strip with a small garage for a small cessna type plane with a road from the strip that leads up to the back of his house.

Was someone in his family once frightened by bright colors? Off-white, tan and brown, with no photos or pictures anywhere. What a bland place.
It's staged for showing. None of the stuff is his and looks nothing like the way he and his wife had it decorated.
When you set your home up for a tour or a showing, you are asked to take down personal photos for safety reasons.

I don't even know why, but this disappointed me. I can't imagine anyone needing a place this big. It looks like he went Hollywood. If he and his family are happy, that's all that matters. He worked hard for all of it and didn't change his country style in clothing or music one tiny bit.
