I don't touch any "untouched" guns from IMA. Years ago, after getting a Martini Henry and a Model 1840 I got an untouched rifle (I forgot which) and it was a complete mess. It was garbage. Never again!
I have saved the stock for a future repair I will get around to. Good idea, I might also attempt to clean up the crack and replace with original scrap wood.
Yes! I have fired all 4 of my British made martini Henrys. Once complete, I plan to take a video of me firing this one. I am also fitting a reproduction stock to this one.

You may be able to save that stock with a mix of acraglass and powdered dark walnut.
