Exactly! This is so true. I think it is hypocritical for Republicans to bring up these issues now. The Build Back Better Bill attempted to solve some of these issues. While I appreciate a civil conversation on a difficult topic I’m deeply disappointed that broader issues of abortion as healthcare weren’t discussed. Plenty of women want their pregnancy but ectopic pregnancies, untenable fetal development or rape and incest victims will all see their access to healthcare curtailed. It’s outrageous that doctors have to stand by and wait for a woman to be in medical distress before they can provide healthcare.

Especially when that person isn’t even a woman and doesn’t understand the pain and struggle of pregnancy, the excruciating pain of childbirth, or what it’s like to be apart of a marginalized group, to spend the entire lives in the corrupt foster care system, or raised under poor or traumatic circumstances? They don’t understand what it’s like so they shouldn’t be in charge of that situation. It should be down to the individual who understands the complications of their circumstances, to make that decision. And although voting does allow for a more diversified opinion, it should still be down to the individual to decide, because those other voters still would never be able to understand that individuals circumstance.

Those who are already pro-life can just decide to never abort no matter what. It doesn't make sense to hold a referendum for what should be a personal decision. The states can also address sex education and other things that might affect a person's decision to abort, but the state should not be dictating what a women can do with their body.

In abortion it ends human life 100% of the time (unless the child survives. Look those interviews up). Unwanted pregnancies occur even with proper contraceptives, and I still think it should be up to the woman (and father) to discuss amongst themselves in private what action they take next, whether that be abortion, adoption, or raising a child. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike orphans, they don't need money, education, or childcare; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It's almost as if, by being born, they have died to you. I am respectfully disagreeing with you. This was a great discussion by the program, but here’s the ultimate point I’m trying to make, men should not be making laws on women’s bodies just as women should not be making laws on men’s bodies.
Not everyone believes that life begins at conception, we have this little part in the US Constitution called the First Amendment, where we have a freedom of religion (it’s also part of the First 10 Amendments called The Bill of Rights). This nation was not founded and was NOT meant to be a Christian nation. Not every religion believes that life begins at conception; they believe that life begins when a breath is taken. They believe a mothers life is more important. The mothers well-being should take precedence. The SCOTUS has taken away the religious freedom that millions of Americans have.
I hope that no one you know of had to make that heart wrenching decision to end a pregnancy. But you may know someone who unfortunately had to make that decision, a decision which is never made lightly. But they made that decision b/c they had a right to chose what to do with their body. That is a human right that all should have. This is always going to be a topic of heated debate. But what the SCOTUS has done, they have taken away that right for millions of women and have now put it onto the states, of which are governed by men who 1) have NO CLUE what women have to go through 2) NO CLUE what it’s like to get pregnant and 3) NO CLUE what’s it like having to make a decision like that. It is a human right to have the right to decide what is best for that individual.
I reiterate, no one is against life. But this country should not be making laws based on religious ideologies b/c not everyone believes the same. The US was founded on a separation of Church and State, ie, keep religion out of politics.

And the sad thing is that many pro choicers consciously seem to know this, but they repress it. In your reply to Cody, you call the decision to terminate a pregnancy "heart wrenching." The best policy to reduce single parenthood and unwanted pregnancies is to de-incentivize it through drastic reduction in the billions we already spend on these programs. They both have been responsible adults with respect to the prevention of pregnancy. Suppose she is on birth control and they have both decided children are not in the picture at this time.
Lets say, she gets pregnant. They have a conversation. He has reconsidered and truly wants to be a father of this child. She on the other hand, says "We've talked about this....no Im having an abortion. He has zero say. None whatsoever if she wants to terminate. But reverse the roles. She reconsiders....she wants the child but he says "We've talked about this and we both agreed we are not ready."
You apparently are arguing, "If she wants the baby...he is responsible financially for at least the next 19 years."
Surely you can see the incredible unfairness of this scenario. You want the ultimate say in yes or no regarding the baby.....regardless of the father's wishes. Then, the father has a right as well to "opt in or out." You cant have your cake and eat it too. Women and men should be treated equally and fairly in society (laws, work, pay, promotion, etc).
      If you still feel that man is a deadbeat, you simply do not possess the cognitive ability to consider/understand any other person's point of view other than your own OR just dont care to consider any other's position. This personality is categorized as;

That is main reason it should be left to the woman is no one should be required to risk their life if they do not want to.

Its too bad that the network majors and even CNBC are overlooking a whole mess of commercial & business issues which are directly emerging from the Supreme Court's recent decision on Row v. Wade. Board rooms of organizations with multi-state operations are currently reconsidering their geographic footprints; some of which are now in jurisdictions presenting a high-risk criminal justice posture for their employees and contractors. The American States which are adopting the most radical anti-abortion measures are practically a template for the low Covid response States everyone saw at the peak of the pandemic. This all ads up to a high risk versus cost benefit of doing business within these "conservative" jurisdictions and every corporation is looking at this right now. Accordingly; the State of California has already placed business travel restrictions on full-time and part-time employees barring any visits to what now number seventeen American states. These organizational decisions being enacted now are not being made in a vacuum. The now conservative majority of the Supreme Court of the United States has taken what is already an intolerable or at best shaky economic situation already present in the Red States of America and made it incalculably worse. The US counties voting Republican for the office of President in 2020 currently represent only twenty-eight percent of the American GDP; denoting that these areas are in an inevitable economic tailspin. Praise the Lord and pass out the welfare checks to both the third-world citizens of these American States and the plantations where they work.

The vast majority of abortions have nothing to do with rape or incest - it's just women not wanting to take responsibility for their actions. If you want to understand the mind of someone that is prolife, then you have to start with the premise that it's a REAL baby being killed. I think of a baby inside a mother's stomach exactly I as think of a newborn baby.... to me, there is no difference but the location. And I could never justify killing a newborn baby NOR could I justify killing a baby located in a stomach. To prolife people, both are REAL babies..... Even if the circumstances were bad, it's still a human life and should be protected.
The more puzzling question to me... why with all the issues on this planet would liberal women choose to be passionate about killing unborn babies? Do you ever stop and think you are on the wrong side?

But even in that case, contraceptives and protection aren’t 100% guaranteed to work 100% percent of the time. So even if a couple has done everything they can to stay protected, but still ends up pregnant, would you still see it right to force someone into the excruciating pain of pregnancy and childbirth? I completely understand the anger towards people who consistently have unprotected and unresponsible sex, and get back to back abortions, but no one should be forced to carry and raise a child against their own will, especially when they do not have the means and resources to raise that child.

Or if parents and teachers would teach their sons to be well-mannered and respectful towards each other, especially women or teach them how to treat a woman, they could prevent them from being future sexual assaulters there for women would not be raped or carry the baby of a rapist. To Savannah Ackerman (one of the women in the panel): To force someone to carry a child against their will is violence. To force a young girl (a child) or a woman who has been raped, either by a stranger or a family member, to carry a child is violence. To not save a woman´s live if the fetus is not viable and let her suffer, come close to death or die, because the fetus still has a heartbeat, is violence. All of this is torture. So for you to sit there to say you are against violence and torture in all it´s form and be 100% against abortions is very hypocritical of you.

there's consequences to fornication. Some married couples want to limit the number of children that they have. That's between them and Almighty God. People act like they never heard of abstinence. You know good old -fashioned self control. Discipline. If you behave like an alley cat the consequences go with it. Including venereal diseases. Rape and incest cases should be handled with much guidance from the Most High God. Ever researched the outcomes of babies born from rape? By the way, adoption is an option. If all the unwanted babies were aborted, couples who want to adopt would be stuck out. Some people can't have children and want to adopt.

@@carolynwilliams7414 The foster care system is overflowing in America currently with more children than safe homes. This harms thousands of children ever year. More than 100,000 children are available for adoption in the U.S. right now so I don't think couples look to adopt are lacking options.
Beyond that many people who engage in safe sex within the confines of marriage (such as one married couple I know who got pregnant after the man got a vasectomy) still find themselves pregnant in spite of their efforts to avoid such an outcome. Unless your argument is that sex should only be used for procreation (in which case you're out of step with most christian belief systems world wide) why do you insist on using a system which punishes people who are doing all of the necessary things to avoid "fornicating" but still get pregnant?
As another point why do you endorse a policy that can force a women to carry the corpse of her child within her body for days or weeks? That's another outcome of mandating births. Sometimes your kid dies before being born and without access to abortive care some women are forced to go through the traumatic experience of being forced to give birth to their dead child, which is by all accounts a pretty horrific thing to do. If violence and harm are what's viewed as the problem, why are the harms experienced by mothers ignored in these conversations? Why does the theoretical harm to an infant take precedence over the actual harm experienced by women?

Then I saw one being performed. I watched as the vacuum devise penetrated the amniotic sack and began to suck out the contents. I foolishly thought that a fetus didn't have any sense that it was being aborted until I saw it's little arms and legs ripped apart on the monitor as it opened it's little mouth in what must have been agony. I couldn't watch any more, it literally made me sick. Like many people, I didn't realize that a fetus could be self-aware enough to feel pain--that it was just a blob of cells without feelings or emotion. I found out I was wrong. It was, like the many other invented rights like the Right to Privacy, something created by legal fiat, yet real Constitutional Rights, like the First and Second Amendment rights are ignored, trampled on, and not protected by the Federal government. That means in reality the same people who claim to champion Abortion as a right actually do not care about Constitutional Rights, as they seek to limit and restrict Second Amendment through Gun Control ('to save lives') on the one hand, and with the other hand enforce a non-Constitutional policy, calling it a "Woman's Right" (which is Sexist to do) so the same people who claim to be Feminists are in fact Sexist, as they take lives through abortion.
