      you understand that 95% of residents in the town concerned are mormons, right? the bureaucracy, politics, bitchiness and hypocrisy involved in that is worse than in any government. not all of them believe the wacko ideas of chad or lori of course but chad was held up on a pedestal and had significant followers in the community. the things ppl will believe is scary AF.

      They were drunk on power. Melanie Boudreaux better be getting ready to be aunt Lori’s cellmate. They are out of their minds, all of them. They really believed the second coming was July 20th 2020 and the ‘dark’ ones were zombies and they killed them to release them to be with Jesus. It’s absolutely batshit crazy. You can’t make this stuff up. Well, Joseph Smith did with a magic hat🤣😂🤷🏼‍♂️

      From the same standpoint as yours, I agree, Mark. Your comment reminded me of a quote by Steven Weinberg: 'With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil - that takes religion". I'm not saying Lori and Chad clasify as "good" under any classification, some of the people in their following must have been good people, albeit conditioned and stupid.

      Yes, I really did. I'm a defense attorney, and this guy is doing his opening statement all wrong. A lawyer can represent a client in a homicide case without apologizing for his client and making out his case to "be difficult." I mean, WHO CARES ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCE AS A LAWYER, PUBLIC DEFENDER, AND HOW DIFFICULT THESE KIND OF CASES ARE??? Good grief, I could teach this lawyer how to do better trial advocacy, and I have only practiced since 2002. Not to mention he's boring to listen to, and I'm listening to these opening statements on my lunch hour before I have a court docket of my own. Time to nap.

I often wonder if Tylee called her mom out on her behavior and that is what got her killed. Her final moments must have been terrifying and heartbreaking knowing her mother was turning on her. I hope her spirit is free and at peace with JJ.

      That should be a law.

      Another travesty is Alex's death. No autopsy Again. Plus he was cremated. So no evidence of foul play.
      Considering the way law enforcement handled Charles Vallow's obvious ambush and murder, I'm not convinced even if there had been autopsy done of both of the above charges would have been filed.

    Hopefully her lawyers get it together since so far they sound disastrous, and it would be a travesty if the case ends up eventually being overturned because of their incompetence. They’ve certainly got an impossible task trying to convince the jury of her innocence, since a blind man could see from a mile away how guilty she is.

    • @Junebiz104L
      @Junebiz104L Рік тому +7

      Maybe her lawyers do have it together, perhaps there isn’t a whole lotta evidence to support a solid defense without committing perjury so Hopefully her lawyers are just being honest and true here

    • @StirlingNash
      @StirlingNash Рік тому +1

      @@Junebiz104L They haven’t presented any evidence since A.) It was the first day of the trial with the jury seated, and the attorneys were giving their opening statements which isn’t the point in the trial when evidence is presented, and B.) Typically the defence doesn’t present evidence first since, if you understand the criminal justice system in the United States, the accused has the right to the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty, and had you listened to the council for defence they actually stated just that, the burden of proof isn’t with the accused and it’s not up to them to prove their innocence but rather the burden is on the prosecution since it is up to them to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. For this reason the prosecution presents their witness testimony and physical evidence and the defence then refutes the evidence by bringing the evidence brought forth by the prosecution into question, meaning they make some argument showing how the evidence doesn’t prove what the prosecution claims it does, or by presenting witness testimony or physical evidence which contradicts the evidence of the prosecution. The evidence presented by the defence typically relies upon expert testimony which disagrees with the prosecution experts, or physical evidence which exonerates the accused by proving they could not have committed the crimes they are charged with. And if they had any such evidence they would have disclosed it as soon as it was obtained and had their client released and the charges dropped, but that didn’t happen likely because no such evidence exists. Unless of course you believe the accused simply prefers to remain incarcerated even when there is evidence to exonerate them.
      My point was regarding the dry, monotone nature of the defence’s opening statements. One would think having a client who is accused of such heinous acts and on trial for such serious charges yet is innocent, that the defence might have a slight bit of passion in defending an innocent individual, but he read his opening in the same tone someone would read the instructions on how to change an ink cartridge on their printer.
      Anyway, it seems some people simply can’t control their urge to post comments when they actually have nothing to contribute and just feel the need to be contrary for attention. Well you got it.

    • @StirlingNash
      @StirlingNash Рік тому +1

      @@Junebiz104L Also, council, meaning the lawyers, generally don’t testify under oath at a trial where they are acting as the defence or prosecution attorneys, so the chances that they will commit perjury is basically non existent. If counsel is found to have broken any of the rules of the court they may be found in contempt of court and in extreme circumstances they are removed from the case, fined and their license maybe be revoked or they may even be disbarred, but usually they aren’t considered perjurious since they are not testifying under oath which is a condition for the charge of perjury. Maybe learn a bit more about the law and how the justice system actually works before offering your very uninformed opinion so as to avoid appearing foolish.
