- This is our daughter who started screaming at 2 days old. She was diagnosed with "severe colic" at 2 weeks old and at her peak (approx 5,6 & 7 weeks of age) would scream like this for 12.5 hours/day without stopping. She was also diagnosed with silent reflux at 6 weeks and medicated until 10 months old. We discovered many food intolerances through my diet while I was breastfeeding her, dairy, gluten, soy, egg, tomatoes, shell fish, anything with flavour or spice basically. Switching to a hypo-allergenic formula from breast milk at 6 months old did improve her screaming.
I hate this sound... This sound is why unstable people end up shaking or beating a baby to death... some people can't handle it. I handled it with my two but I screamed into a pillow many times...

This baby is in a lot of pain. How long are you going to wait until you do something. Would you wait YKK seek help if you were in that much pain. I would guess not. A form of child abuse.

I feel very, very sorry for any parent who is living with a child who has colic, but seriously, I think if videos like this were included in birth control ads many people would think twice before having a baby. 12.5 hours a day of this non-stop crying would drive me crazy. .
My daughter was colic and it was so stressful it started when she was 2 weeks old and it lasted from 8am-12pm and 5pm-9pm and she did not cry when I took her outside in the stroller only when I was home

Human babies are very needy and Olivia is real.
They make OTC drops for this now. Been on the market for many years. Works like a charm. Also lots of videos on tummy massage and bicycle movements with legs to release gas. No excuse for this stress to baby or mom.
I agree. I don't want kids and this is distressing. Like I was shocked at how many food intolerances she had and that they can cause this. Ughh

These videos of infant distress are critical for getting male doctors to stop dismissing mothers as exaggerating and hysterical when newborns scream hours nonstop. Med students must be trained to ASK for video instead of telling mom it's normal (NO, it's not); newborns scream hours for no reason (NO, they don't); it's "just" colic, nothing can be done, wait to outgrow it (NO, infant pain is NEVER acceptable). As this poor mom found, constant hard cough/choke that's worse on back...CONTINUED
What an emotional downer she is for any couple to have to deal with this situation.
It changes your life and make life much worse to have to hear this horrible terrible sound...

Yep. 6 hours a day for 10 weeks in 2002 along with a 3 year old and our 10 year old who broke her arm and leg when he was 4 weeks old. So hard but we made it through. He is now the most amazing adult!

Stop being so damn dramatic, she's not even coughing. That's just how she cries which is quite common for babies. It's pretty sad you can't tell the difference between coughing and crying. She's not gonna ruin her voice from crying, that's just how they communicate.
@@rococo7966 she is not your kid and I hope you sterilize yourself so you won't have any. My daughter was colic and I got through it. I changed her formula to ready to feed gentalease at 4 months and she got better and she is now three

My daughter was colic and her pediatrician didn't listen and she was not gaining weight and I found out it was the powdered formula was going it. I changed her formula on WIC to the ready the feed and she was a happy baby. The first 5 months were brutal

Sounds exactly like my son did. I am glad she is better. I had to switch to hypo formula too. That and nexium really helped. It is so horrible to know your baby is in pain and you are powerless to help.

One time I was baby sitting a baby and it was bed time the baby started crying when I put it n the crib but it was BED TIME so it needed to go to sleep. The baby wouldn’t stop crying so I recorded it it cried for nearly an hour I was like wtf is wrong w u. If I’m talking for more than 7 minutes straight without shutting up my throat begins to hurt. Like, what a stupid baby to cry for an hour straight. It really pissed me off.

Try rice cereal. Get a pouch to carry her close to you. Try a massage. Go outside. Mylicon drops. Ride in the car. It is hard but it passes. Enfamil formula is good.

I have colicky Baby too.. please don’t let her cry in the swing like that, pick her up and walk, bounce, rock, and put her in the changing table and do warm cloth foment in her little tummy it helps trust me.. I do it all the time for my baby.. and he feels really comfortable once he passes the winds, and sometime as u do the warm cloth thing on his stomach some of the gas bubbles will burst inside the tummy so the baby feels relived.. make sure it’s not very hot, only warm water..
Massage helps calm them too.

Probably doesn't like being wrapped up so tight, she can't move her arms and legs. I never swaddled either of my kids, and they slept like rocks when they were babies. Apparently, swaddling didn't help with this baby.

If this is acid reflux, and I still doubt that it is physical, there are medications and special formulas that all but cure the problem. If I had to deal with a baby screaming this way for 12 hours / day, and I thought it was pain related, I'd be camping in the Pediatrician's office, demanding proper treatment.
