Thank you! And awesome that you're planning on watching the tutorial. If you're into being a perfectionist and REALLY trying to get an awesome hyperlapse, you should check out my advanced post process also. Hands down the BEST drone footage I've ever seen. It's mesmerizing to watch. You have an amazing talent at what to shoot and how to shoot it. Very very well done! I've subscribed and excited to look at more of your amazing work.
Absolutely amazing! Imaging seeing such a video just 5 years ago. One would have wondered how many helicopters were flying for this film? What fantastic state-of-the-art million dollar cameras were in use? And to now know that it is the wonder of the Mavic Pro 2, a 1500 $ miracle machine. But your processing, color-correction and editing is just as mindblowing. Just love the hyperlapses, especially the opening one is the best I have ever seen!
I know! I've been flying drones for 4.5 years, started with the Phantom 2 with a GoPro, and even that impressed me with what it was capable of. But the amount of development and innovation in this technology is mind-blowing. And thank you for the kind words on our work. I do like to put that extra time in to make sure it really shines. I actually was thinking of publishing this yesterday, but I wanted to fine-tune some things, and I'm glad I did because it does make a difference.
Yep, one of the best uses of the best features of the M2P. I'm looking to buy one soon* and I've been watching loads of M2P&Z on UA-cam. It seems only about 15% of users get the best from the Pro; one actually makes the Zoom look quite a bit better. I hope I can work out how you've got the images so sharp and avoided the dreaded stutter of fast pans and "zooms". Can you say why you think some people have failed in these two aspects? Anyway, great video - almost makes me want to go there. * or shall I wait for M3?
Thank you for the compliment. I *almost* didn't do the sound design on this one because I was so eager to publish it and start working on our next video. But knew I'd be disappointed in myself if I didn't, and the response to having the sound design included has been very positive, so it further cements in my mind that sound design is so critical and should be included in all of our films.

Amazing work! Absolutely unbelievable such a small drone can create such a beautiful image. Fantastic job on the composition as well of course! Do you think I could use your footage for a project?(Non-Profit) Thank you!
I'll chime in a little on this (though I don't really think the whole sensor "controversy" is that big of a deal): when shooting hyperlapses (all of the night shots), the drone is using the full sensor. The working theory by the guy who first posted about the M2P sensor only using half of the sensor is that that's the case when shooting footage, as a way to offset the possibility of overheating. But when taking one picture every two seconds, rather than 30 pictures per second, the overheating problem wouldn't be there, so the drone is able to use the full resolution from the sensor. That said, even with realtime footage I've still been very happy with the results I've gotten. I don't care about charts or tech specs so long as the images I'm able to produce with a tool are images I'm happy with. In this case I'm happy with the imagery, and it might or might not be as sharp as a P4P, but I don't really care.
Well said and logical. Your cinematography skills are awesome. You'd make a 2/3 sensor look good. Its not the equipment but the person using it. Well done sir . . .
I've been sitting on the fence about selling my Mavic pro and upgrading to the Mavic Pro 2. This video has totally sold it for me! Thank you, amazing video!
Awesome! It's a great drone, for sure. Self-seeking-plug: if you're buying from Amazon, I've got a link in the description to where you can buy through Amazon, but I'll get a little commission for the sale, and it's the same price as buying it new elsewhere. If you'd like to help support the work I do (so that hopefully I can do more and more often) this is one way that helps! Either way, you'll love the drone, and hopefully can use it to make some awesome videos (and photos!). :-)
Blue Mantle Films I actually picked it up today and I’m about to take it for a spin. I’ve subbed so in future I’ll buy through your affiliate links. Cheers again!
Blue Mantle Films it went really well! It felt more stable than my Mavic pro, it’s quieter, and the footage is so much sharper, vibrant and detailed. I’m taking it on a road trip this weekend so I’m really going to push it to find out how much I can get out of this drone!
Roadtrips are always a good way to practice filming. :-) Where are you going? Have fun using the drone! Any time I have a new piece of equipment I like to find something specific to use it for (such as a roadtrip or a new YT video) to get used to it and test it out.
The technique is speed ramping, and in Premiere Pro (what I use) the effect is called Time Remapping. I don't know what the effect would be called in FCPX...I haven't used FCP since they introduced X like ten years ago, so I'm out of the loop with its current features. I do think it has some sort of capability that is similar to Time Remapping though. If you look up "Speed ramping FCPX" I'm sure you'll find a ton of info on it.
Thank you! I’ve said it before: sound design is so important in bringing the viewer into the experience. Admittedly I *almost* didn’t do sound design on this one because I had already spent a lot of time on editing and my workload is pretty full right now, but I knew I would be disappointed in myself if I didn’t do sound, so decided it was worth it.
I used to drone around Miami I when i lived there. Definitely one of the best places in the country to own a drone. Every shot is a money shot of some kind, whether its beaches, skylines, sunsets, palm trees etc. South pointe park was a very popular takeoff spot back when I was there
I honestly was surprised I didn't run into any other drones at South Pointe Park when I was flying. From the whole time I was in Miami I only saw one other droner, and that was while I was driving, so didn't get a chance to introduce myself. :-( Anyway, you're right it is a great spot to drone...I got a lot of imagery I was happy with...it was hard to narrow down to three minutes.
wow thats crazy stable!!!!!! Why they stay P4P is still better?? I cant do anything like that with my P4P.... So jealous for your views in that video... Within 1day?? wow
I know! From the past with other drones I’m used to having to either skip a lot of shots because of vibration or having to at the very least use Warp Stabilizer, and in this one I had literally one shot (real-time footage, that is) that I ran Warp Stabilizer on. Now, that said, the hyperlapses I did stabilize in post as part of processing them to be the best I could make them, but that’s different, I think, because those are filmed over 15-20 minutes, so of course they’re going to jitter a little bit. As far as P4P vs. M2P, I really think it’s up to the person. Use whatever you want to use to make content, but then stop complaining about other tools and just go make content! I wanted with this video to show that M2P can be taken seriously as a machine that can be used for professional work. Anyway, thanks for watching the video! I’m obviously very happy with the response it has gotten. :-)
I mean. Maybe your p4p is broken? The p4p isn’t “better.” It's the same camer, probably a little better image, overall. But it will do all this. You would just have to do your hypes the old fashioned way.
BEAUTIFUL VIDEO, I have a question the hyperlapse you make in jpg with the automatic process of dji 4 or you do it in raw manually. And the same question for the colors of the hyperlapse is automatic or manual? Tienes nuevo suscriptor desde Paraguay =)
I most definitely do post processing with the raw images. The automatically-generated videos can look cool, but to really get the best-possible hyperlapses, particularly for color and dynamic range, it's necessary to use the raw. I process the raw images in Lightroom to bring out the colors, then load them into Premiere to run Warp Stabilizer on them. ¡Gracias por suscribirse!
Now that I'm subscribed, I've seen all your videos, you have one of how to do it for normal people and another for advanced SUPER people, what if you do one for totally new/amateur people? hahaha
Thanks! There's always room for improvement, but I don't discount that I'm happy with how this video turned out. Glad the tutorials are helpful! I'll be making more, but about once a week is the fastest I'm able to make them while still having a regular life. :-)
Overall, I really like this video. Night shots look beautiful. I rate this an A-. The minus is for sound efx being a bit to much for the following reasons. Concept is good, except the natural sound should match the sound that one would hear from the altitude of the shot. For example, the volleyball game, one hears the hit of the volleyball clearly. But it does not match what you would hear from that height, so it can be perceived as being fake. So hearing loud traffic from 400' up and 1,000' away does not really match. In addition, because the music is very full and allows little acoustic space around it, the sound efx fight with the music and therefor are turned up to be heard. It's hard to have both, as they compete. If you want to hear sound efx, turn music down, but don't turn efx up, for instance. All in all, this really is a beautiful piece.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll counter with a few things: I actually did adjust levels and the reverb (making them acoustically softer) based off of the height/distance. volleyball hits in real life are very distinct-sounding, so I actually think that's what you'd hear from 30-ish feet away. And for traffic: I intentionally lowered the levels of traffic on the higher-altitude shots. Most of the shots were taken at between 50-100ft altitude, and it was mostly just the hyperlapses and the few wide city skyline shots that the drone was up closer to 400 feet. So for the lower down shots the levels were a bit higher, but on the higher up shots I lowered the levels and added a Surround Reverb filter, set to "Somewhere Not Here" to make the sounds sound distant. That said (and as I've said in other comments) this is all a learning process for me, so while I did intentionally do some of the things you suggest, I didn't execute them as well as I could have. Yes, finding the balance of music and sfx is definitely something I struggle with. I like to hear both, but I guess I need to learn to prioritize one or the other. I know on my next video I'll be intentionally more subtle in my sound design, because this does seem to be the main critique that this film is getting. Thank you again for your feedback. I'm hoping to continue growing through this process. :-)
Sounds like you will do better on the next video. Regardless, it appears there are a lot of viewers who perceive the effects as "fake." When mixed correctly, you will hear few comments about the sound efx, as people will not even notice they were there. As a sound engineer for film and TV for years, we used to have a saying, "Less is more."
I wouldn't say the natural sound overlay sounded "fake" as much as "misplaced" in some scenes. By your reply you are aware of this issue and have adjusted the audio feel to mitigate this. I am totally with you when you say: "finding the balance of music and sfx is definitely something I struggle with" I am right there with you. I love the footage I get from my M2P finding the right audio to go with the footage is more challenging than people think. All told I love the piece.
I'm not a sound guy or a filmmaker but the sound stood out as weird to me. Like it drew my attention to the "I shouldn't be hearing that sound like this"
This is truly the most beautiful footage I have ever seen from any drone. I would love to hear about your camera settings and post work flow. While everyone is arguing about the 1" sensor you were out creating magic. Nice work!
Thank you for that very kind and generous compliment! I do have my post workflow for hyperlapses posted, you should check that out. I haven't yet made a video on my regular editing (non-hyperlapse) post workflow, and I do hope to do that at some point, but it may be some time yet as I've got several other videos I plan to work on first.
I just realized that you added music for the party boat as it approached at 2:00 minutes! WHAT?! Well done!

Well done sir . . .
oh . . . and I purchased the M2P. I didn't buy any of the stuff Cliff was selling. Keep up the good work.
It is?
Bravissimo, grandissime immagini c'è moltissimo da imparare.....iscritto !
Thank you! Grazie.
We watch, enjoy, and leave nice comments.
👌👍 Miami 😊

The images of the city in the night are amazing. Congrats from Brazil !
awesome! Congrats
Thanks.
Killer shots and great editing. You lovingly made the city look gorgeous. I'm drooling over your sunset hyperlapses!
Thanks! Glad I was able to do it justice. And thanks! I was really happy with the sunrise and sunset shots too.
wow!
Absolutely Stunning!!!! In awe....
Lindo!!! 👏🇧🇷
Cool! How did its maiden flight go?
Blue Mantle Films it went really well! It felt more stable than my Mavic pro, it’s quieter, and the footage is so much sharper, vibrant and detailed. I’m taking it on a road trip this weekend so I’m really going to push it to find out how much I can get out of this drone!
Roadtrips are always a good way to practice filming. :-) Where are you going?
Have fun using the drone! Any time I have a new piece of equipment I like to find something specific to use it for (such as a roadtrip or a new YT video) to get used to it and test it out.
NAILED IT :D
Thanks! Hopefully the good kind of "nailed it", not the fail kind. :-)
right
Woww, sehr cool gemacht !!! Klasse
Danke!
Es ist in der Tat sehr wunderbar.
Wow Miami is beautiful at night. I love the 4k night city footage. Awesome
AMAZIIIIIIIIIIING !!!! MAY I ASK HOW YOU SPEED UP FROM A TO B ? IS IT JUST THE FAST FORWARD SETTING ? I'M ON FCPX
Blue Mantle Films thx a lot !
Press Shift+B in fcpx or go for „speed ramp orion yorke“ in UA-cam
PERFECT , THX A MILLION !
What frame rate did you use on the clips that you used speed ramping on? This vid is so so sweet man. Love the tweaking on your hyperlapse shots.
That was absolutely incredible! It was like real-life Sim City. Fantastic work.
Thanks!
wow
Wow! This is amazing. And the sound design is just 🙌🏼 I’ve learned a lot. Thanks!
Blue Mantle Films You did really good. Where do you usually find your audio files?
Where is the mic drop at the end? ;-)
Thanks!
Just 👏🏻
Thanks.
Wow that nightscape quality was off the chain!!!
nice
Thanks!
Night scenes was outstanding love it all the way.
wow thats crazy stable!!!!!!
Blue Mantle Films Excellent! (Curious how you could achieve same with P4P.)
good question
Absolutely stunning! Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing!
You're welcome! I love watching videos that inspire me to create, so it's good to hear a video we made can also do that. :-)
Now that I'm subscribed, I've seen all your videos, you have one of how to do it for normal people and another for advanced SUPER people, what if you do one for totally new/amateur people? hahaha
Love Miami
Vice City, Vice State
Some people have a natural talent for composition, and you are one of them. Great video, and thanks for the instruction videos as well.
As a sound engineer for film and TV for years, we used to have a saying, "Less is more."
was about to ask how the volleyball sound was captured, fantastic work.

Amazing. Love the night time hyperlapses.
Time lapse sequences are fantastic!
Thanks! I was pretty giddy when I saw some of the shots I was getting!
Beautiful stuff.. Those zoom outs are epic.. I need to get my videos up to par like this. Hyperlapse is stellar
