I've started to watch your videos just before I switch off to sleep. They slow my brain down. Every school holiday my parents took us to Yorkshire, even though we only lived in Hull!! I've lost both my parents how, but I will be forever grateful that they refused to take us to Butlins!! (That's where I wanted to go!!). Instead, they gave me the peace of the Yorkshire countryside. Very relaxing, peaceful videos. There are stone fences in New England, too, in America. The ones I saw were in Rhode Island. I'm sure the colonists brought the skill with them. But I live in Missouri-a town, but close to farms and ranches and the countryside. My parents were raised on farms. Lots of gardening, feeding livestock, gathering eggs from chickens, chopping wood, cooking on a wood stove, using kerosene lanterns, canning, butchering hogs in autumn, cutting hay, hunting and the work that goes into an off-grid (as they say nowadays) farm life.

the chestnuts remind me of mum roasting them and sometimes boiling them delicious and using them in chocolate dessert pastry at Chistmas my parents were italian and lived in southend where i was born i used to dream of living in an english village but now live in New Zealand

I've also made the citrus decorations by using limes and grapefruit and blood oranges, hung up across the window they look like jewels, thanks for promoting as decorations might make people stop buying tinsel and plastic and use organic

I, like so many Europeans, descend from Charlemagne, and William the Conquerer. Many Kings and Queens of Western Europe are my direct grandparents. Oh, this is just lovely! I’ve just found your vlogs and have thoroughly enjoyed every one. I’m in N. Yorks. also, although in a town rather than one of our lovely little villages. Nonetheless, the countryside and your way of life is so familiar from my childhood (I was thrilled to bits to see you carve a turnip, rather than a pumpkin!) and something I aspire to enjoy again in retirement. I do hope you continue to vlog in order to introduce many more people to the beauty of a slower, more purposeful life in this delightful part of the world.
