Ok you cannot be in the kpop world and not know this song. Luke let me tell you, EVERY Kpop stan knows this song. It’s just iconic… there’s no other words for it. If you know the song, then you know the choreography. It’s just that great
@@monsterhanna6691 I’m not trying to pressure him into knowing the song, I’m just saying that kpop Stan’s eventually find their way to this song either because they find it along their journey or they’ve heard of it. The point of my comment is to say it’s a well-known song that most people know. I know he’s new and I’m actually surprised he found this song so early in his journey, I definitely found it way later than he did. Relax, I mean no harm 😅

This was momoland's peak. they debuted ion 2016 with "Welcome To Momoland", but they remained flopped until Bboom Bboom was released. Then everything changed for them, they were everywhere, so many ads, tv shows, live performances, etc. But there's also the down side of this...
They danced ONLY this song for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long, and you can see they getting tired of this, dancing without smiling anymore, with little to no energy. Then they released Baam, which was basically the same recipe from Bboom Bboom. They kept getting attention, but this started decaying again after 3 or 4 songs similar to Bboom Bboom.
(In case someone wants to attack me for what i just said, just know that i've been a Merry-Go-Round since their debut, and i just don't like seeing my girls just being their company's puppets to make money without being happy, like they were pre-bboom bboom)
it was more along the lines that the company that managed them is just not that good, they lost several of there members and had the usual kpop scandals (who is dating who... type of bullshit)
They have struggled since then. Most of there music gets several millions of views but they have not managed to release a true hit for years now. To be fair they have released solid songs... but it takes either a REALLY good management company/promoter or a truly exceptional song to be a hit.
Like for example, Black Pink. Every one of there songs is huge, but in my opinion not every one of them is good. Thats what a really good management company can do for you.

Huge kpop song of 2018. MMLD had a ton of traction with this song and BAAM, but the group went through mismanagement after. Some of the original members are gone and have been vocal about their experience.
Felt sad when Yeonwoo left the group in 2019 and chose to be an actress, then their disbanded in 2023 😢 but Nancy will be debuting in acting on our country maybe this year ❤
This was the first kpop song youtube showed me last year. Twice then followed,now a big Twice fan but i will always have a soft spot for Momoland.Their story is worth researching.It has not been easy for these girls.They are now a six member group i believe but still going and good to listen to.

Another girlgroup you should definitely check out is LOONA with the song "PTT (PAINT THE TOWN)", they're a very versatile and talented group.
Yeah, this song is such a throwback to 2018 K-pop like omg, such an iconic song. Also we really need a loons reaction now, he is definitely missing out there. And I believe PTT is a good place to start, but they can literally do any type of song so their discography has everything!!

"If you know who Momoland are..." Hahah. EVERY K-pop fan knows Momoland. This song was HUGE. The most popular member is Nancy, a half white/half Korean member, who is breakout star in the Philippines.
You should also check out Momoland's other big hit "Baam."
The reason you're not recommended this group a lot is because they don't really have longevity. They have two mega hits: Boom Boom and Baam. But their other songs have never reached anywhere near that level. Their most popular members have also already left the group. And in an industry where dozens and dozens of K-pop groups debut every year, you need to have hits all the time to stay relevant.
So you're more likely to get requests for groups that have longevity and consistently make hits.
Not EVERY fan; he's still new to K-Pop.

Well Thumbs Up and I am So Hot was pretty popular as well. For sure not as much but it was. Wrap Me In Plastic "remix" was as well. But like I get it. I am literally these days trying to learn the members.

The problem is that the song is just ok, they need another exceptional song if they want another big hit.
that is the song that got me into Kpop. I'm a Martial Artist (Judo, Aikido, Karate, Tae Kwon Do). I was looking for Tae Kwon Do demos by Koreans. I found the K-Tigers doing a demo on the tune of 'Boom Boom'. And there Kpop intro.
This was also my first kpop song and that k- tigers video is awesome !
The thing is that they realeased 3 similar songs after this bcs it was such a huge hit. The had soooo so many stages and you could see that they got tired of it and their smiles seemed forced :/ some say that they’re the puppets of their company because of that. Daisy, Yeonwoo and Taeha also left Momoland and the company

In 2019, Taeha and Yeonwoo left the group, and Daisy departed in 2020. The group currently consists of Ahin, Hyebin, Jane, JooE, Nancy and Nayun.
This song was a huge bop when it came out. It's one of my daughter's favorites still to this day. She comes running whenever she hears it. "Baam" is another good song by them though it got some serious lashback for some racism issues in the visuals. If you watch the video, you'll see it.

everglow in my opinion has way better songs overall. i only like some of blackpink's choruses but not the full songs but everglow never gets boring

The S Korea government uses MOMOLAND as propaganda that they broadcast by radio and loudspeakers into N Korea. This shows N Koreans what they are missing. MOMOLAND are also PR ambassadors for S Korea, they have played at a lot of schools and on children's TV shows. Examples of these are BANANA CHACHA and TIKI TAKA. My personal favorites are Thumbs UP, Yummy Yummy Love and Pinky Love.

There are some kpop groups that do get kind of forgotten, which is a shame. I would recommend listening to Apink - No No NO and Everglow Dun Dun. They are quite different but I really like them

I think the reason why nobody recommended them to you is because Momoland now, is a shell of it's former self, lots of internal issues with the company led to a third of the members leaving (there was 9, now there is 6) and frankly, I'm not even sure what the group is doing right now. The last full blown song release I remember from them was 'Thumbs Up' (in 2019) and later, they had a collab song with Chromance 'Wrap me in plastic' (in 2021). Beyond that, I'm not sure if it's just my ignorance, or if they've just really slowed down after taking those big hits.
Either way, Momoland has had some great songs - even past their prime of Bboom Bboom. Here are the ones I remember liking:

-Thumbs Up
-Wrap Me in Plastic

I absolutely love Momoland. Baam is definitely the other song from them you need to listen to. I'm also partial to their other songs: Thumbs Up, and I'm So Hot. Yummy Yummy Love is also good, but not one of my favorites.

Momoland has loss a few members, but they still do release a few songs a year. They are from a smaller company so they don't get as much promotions as other big name groups.

They had a meteoric rise with Bboom Bboom and followed with the same recipe with Baam. After that, there were some controversies with the members and label. Since then, their career has just stalled.

Honestly, they probably haven’t been recommended to you a lot because they were much more popular a couple of years ago, but many people might have forgotten about them. Also how do you expect us to recommend everything when there are a million different groups, if I were to list them you would never finish reading this comment. Also we need a loona reacting like now, they are greatness in every single way and can do anything. I would suggest their song PTT (paint the town) as a starter, one of my favourite songs ever tbh
