I am a Madrista for nearly 40 years. Respect and I hope you will get bigger (UA-cam channel) and that someone (big club) will sign you. Honestly. You Are That Good.
I cant stop watching this video. Athletico's defensive system can be equally or even more beautiful and exciting than watching possession based football sometimes I feel. This intense aggressive and compact style is so nice to watch
Great vid, love watching tactics vids like this. It inspires me to go on FM and try out these tactics, which I will inevitably fail and rage quit. Then I come back to these vids and get inspired again. It's a vicious cycle!
What does that stat say about home advantage? 2 goals in 185 shots: A. The crowd boosts morale, B. The crowd can influence referees, C. Atletico obviously prioritize the UCL above other competitions. This could be their year if they play like this throughout.
the only way to beat 442 of Simeone is to play 442 diamond like Zidane used to play .. the 2 strikers will hold the defenders in the back to prevent the 'step out' method they use .. while having someone like Isco who can play between the lines and create killer passes to Forwards . also the 4 midfielder narrow system will dominate the double pivot .. the only problem with this is defending on the wings but you can solve it with a hard working player like Vazquez and Asensio or Cuadrado for Juve .
@@HKOVENOM Dybala is not in a good form lately .. and he dropped between the lines as an option from time to time not his constant position like an attacking midfielder. also Ronaldo played like a left winger not a second striker which left one defender free to step out while the other one mark Mandzukic
@@Xeno3369 4231 could be another option but the attacking will be on the wings .. and could work well with Cuadrado and Costa on the wings and Dybala as attacking midfielder under Ronaldo as a lone striker.
You know what would be real amazing??? Man city vs Atletico. The game of all games. The worlds best defense(arguably) vs the worlds best offence(arguably)
Was my prediction. But Man City never made it that far yet... they are a bit too arrogant like Real or PSG... i think Man U or Bayern will face them to be realistic
Even though I'm a big Juve fan, I wasn't really mad Atletico won. Absolutely well deserved. And I also enjoyed your breakdown of their defensive tactics... quite well done mate👍
Respect you dude. I'm a great Atletico fan . And i like your attitude. We made several mistakes at 2nd leg in turin. And you guys got a deserved win in the 2nd leg.
quality video, love the way athletico play defensively . so hard to break down and have the quality going forward too. Seems this season that have gone to a 5 at the back with likes of trippier coming in and the quality movement of felix going forward, what a player.
Also notice how the Atletico players body shape funnels the Juve players into the wide areas where they then outnumber the Juve attackers. Quite often creating a defensive 2v1 or 3v1 or 3v2. So you've got numerical superiority in a tight space where it's difficult to score a goal. In all of the clips you can see the AM players inviting Juve to play it wide then as soon as they've "trapped" them they press with numerical superior. Even Ronaldo will struggle vs 2/3 opponents in a tight area.
Piotr please do an analysis of the carabao cup final, Sarri tactically outclassed Pep nullifying cities attack only to lose unfortunately in penalties.
I DON'T THINK THAT DE BRUYNE WOULD SCORED THAT GOAL IN THE WORLD CUP IF IN THE LB WERE FILIPE LUIS INSTEAD OF MARCELO. IMO THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR A LB IS DEFENSE
9:11 warm welcome by the public too. They chanted "Messi Messi". funny thing: when CR remembered them the 5UCL, the italian national TV said:"he's calling a scheme".
2:40. The idea atletico strength in defense is shown by the small number of tackles in the zone 14 is biased by the final result of the match because there are matches in which the same occurs, yet the team loses. Moreover, the fact that in that zone there are few tackles is ALSO consistent with the fact a team dribbles over a lot. It hasn't occurred specifically in this match, but it may happen so i wouldn't rely that much on this kind of biased analysis.
Atletico plays narrowly and press on the wings and the only thing to do is to switch the ball to the other flank to make them move over basically. When smaller teams in Spain play against Atletico they rarely even create 1 clear chance for a whole game. Atletico just work so hard.
Even if it's ugly to watch, I thank Atletico to exist and Diego Simeone to be so intelligent... Because every great team play basicely the same football ! He's the only one who understand that you can win not with copying the strenghts of your opponent (high pressing, possession), but by countering his weaknesses
5:55 this is like a chess game where you thought you did a good move by moving a piece in a dangerous position, but there were 3 pieces defending it thoroughly and now you wasted a move and are trapped
sometimes a coach who plays a defensive game hardly get out like or state because it get boring however tonight i have got the best reaction to manchester united got from mancity, sometimes coaches liking a highly pressing game which is an end to end many not work mostly when you facing a team like mancity borowing a tactical defensive game ( diego simione) can get you results.
Atletico are so good. I predict a second leg win for them. They didn't even need to be at their best in the first leg and should have won 3-0 at least. Yeah I know Anfield will be tough but Atletico have been getting tough away wins against the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the Champions League. I believe them to be extremely hungry for their first CL trophy and they will put up trademark performance in the second leg.
Primarily, when there is far more movement by the team that does not have possession than by the team that does, it's going to be extremely hard to advance the ball.
@Piotr foot love your videos, they help me in my personal game. By the way, do you coach? I think you would make for a very good coach at a high level.
Yet no one else can do it. You need the athletes (Partey, Koke, Saul), the coach (Simeone), the culture (Griezmann defendio fiercely evidenced by his slide on the halfline recovering position or willingness to get brutal and commit vital tactical fouls) and the leaders (Godin, Koke, Juanfran, etc)
I disagree with the play @5:52 when that ball is played i feel the smartest decision is to drive the ball at the Luiz forcing him to make a commitment to the play and play the ball on the outside, Dybal makes his run in the game but because the decision or pass wasn't made fast enough so he had to hesitate his run to stay in a onside position, if the ball was played in, Partey would have to catch up to Dybal and this would mean Dybal can show off how good he his with a 1 on 1 play for a goal chance or even a high or low cross after driving in. Any one else feel the defending in the final 3ed is weak Juve were just playing in a passive mode, i feel like we will see this exploited in the 2ed leg with Ronaldo and Dybal making more 1 on 1 decisions with a deadly man like Mario in the box.
