  • Visiting Skydeck Chicago and going out on the Ledge is a top attraction when you visit the Second City. Located in Willis Tower (Sears Tower to local Chicagoans), which is the 3rd highest building in the United States, the Skydeck Chicago experience first takes you through an exhibit of Chicago's stunning architecture, history and culture before taking you up an elevator to the 103rd floor to the highest observation deck in the United States where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. If you're feeling especially brave and wanted to see what standing 1,353 feet in the air was like, you can head out on the Ledge, two triple-paned glass balconies that extend 4.3 feet from the edge of the tower. Just be mindful of the Windy City's sometimes intemperate climate where you may be enjoying sunny skies one minute and then rain, fog or cloudy skies five minutes later. Admission is $35 for adults, $26 for children ages 3 to 11 and is free for children under 3 years old. If you don't want to wait during busier times, they sell an expedited ticket for $55 to go faster.

Let us know if you thought Magellan would go out on the ledge. If you've seen this video - ua-cam.com/video/1WugC2K7gUA/v-deo.html - you'll probably already know the answer.

Called Chicago home for some time while working for the airlines. The Skydeck is cool and offer some incredible views! Not sure if we could stand on that ledge! 😮

When we first started traveling we moved to visit the sky decks in every country. Then Covid happened. Can’t wait for the to start opening up. Very informative video 👍🏻

It's so hard to explain how awesome it is to see an entire city on high. Have you been to One World Observatory yet? That's our new favorite over Empire and Top of the Rock.

@@MsLayila I think it's 9am? But that was during the pandemic restrictions. It used to be 8am all the other years we went. That said, if you get a 9am ticket, you can show up earlier (like we did) and they let us up a little earlier. Regardless, the later you go, the more people who may be already up there, and once the timed entry potentially ends, it's just lines and you get up there when you get up there. No thanks! Early is the best!

Wow, how cool is that...I didn't realize it was quite as high as it is! Talk about living life on the edge...I mean ledge! Not sure I'd try that...but I would look down anyway... :-)

One of us is from Chicago and we have still never done this! HAHAHAHAHA. Loved that you took us on this virtual tour!! So nice that you guys went to SkyDeck and got a lovely view of the city! Wedee is actually afraid of heights so this is the best! Wow! It was so clear for you guys too! Seems like you had the whole experience just for you guys! NO SELFIES except of your feet! HAHA.

Isn't it funny how you never do the things where you live? And yes, third time's a charm. We've never had clearer weather. We were mostly by ourselves, since we were first in line first thing in the morning LOL
