I pair Varin’s Axe with the Housecarl Axe because varins axe increases speed on hit and housevarl gets increased attack after each hit. Faster speed equals more hits which makes it easier to buff the Housecarl Axe attack points.
I've only been playing for about 10 hours and I found it last night. They die so fast now. Plus I just realized I can parry without a shield when I was trying them out.

I got a late start to this game but it’s great. When you gain the skill to dual wield 2 handed weapons, double spears is insane. The rate at which you can strike with each one is unreal and with the reach of the spears is unmatched. Takes down elite and legendary enemies incredibly fast.
just started the game a few days ago and im using double spears, spear of leonidas and fafnir's fang. going to replace fafnir's fang with gungnir when i get it.
Blacksmith hammer in the main hand, mjolnir in the off hand. Hold L1 and you get a savage attack! The blacksmith’s hammer literally carried me through the rest of the game once I found it. So glad I tried it out.
Tbh you only really need dual spears and you're all set. Just get Fafnir's Fang, Fyrd Spear and the heavy dual wield skill early on and you'll melt through every enemy. Dual wielding spears is absolutely broken

The blacksmith hammer not only look phenomenal but it actually is phenomenal. The fully upgraded one breaks shields and knocks down most enemies including animals with just one hit and the tough one with a couple hit. I like to think it as man made Mjolnir lol.

I know most just love to shred though everyone as fast as possible with duel spears, axe's, and daggers, but I love to use a shield with all the various weapons. Just something so satisfying about nailing the parry.
Duel wielding Excalibur and bone biters allows you to spin around in a circle like a lunatic killing pretty much everyone around you until you run out of stamina then if you combo it with the leap ability you instantly get your stam back and knock them down or stagger them and then you can spin again and as you spin u fill your ability bar its never ending whirlwind of death. Its pretty op.
I just played the game without putting much thought into the things I should find or do, and now that I'm at the end I find myself having many things that people recommend, as well as learning about some new things. I now realize that I often underestimated some tools, even when I invested into making them better I still didn't think they were as good as others. I still had fun, though so I'm not gonna dwell on it.
I dual Excalibur and Carolingian Longsword for looks cuz I like swords, and they do shred like crazy but honestly throwing the Blacksmith Hammer in the offhand and Varin’s Axe in the main absolutely destroys everything. Stun runes in the hammer basically stunlocks all the legendary animals and elite enemies

Wait is that actually true lol because I cannot beat the 2nd and 3rd daughters of Lorien at all lmfao. I’m around power 100, and I looove my Hammer/Dagger combo which are both mythic and leveled up quite a bit, but I just can’t do it. Got good abilities and skills selected too. So is the double spear method actually gonna help me beat them?

Honestly, everything doubled is seriously op. Double spears give great damage with range, double knives will let you tear people to bits lightning fast, and double hammers will just lay enemies out for stomps. As far as the daughters, it really comes down to skills and being good at dodges. That slowmo ability along with stun abilities can keep them from being to do anything.
Ive found the very first axe you get at the beginning of the game to be more than sufficient, especiallywhen fully upgraded. Combined with the Briton shield, nothing better.
Anybody know about the Valkyrie armor. Is it good? I just bought the armor torso part from Reda for 120 opal (1st Jan 2021). I don't know about it (only did a quick research online) but it does look awesome on Eivor.
It looks cool, but as a heavy armor, it's slow and I don't think it's perk is useful. I don't really use the dive of the valkyries so it's a waste. I feel the thegn's armor with it's bonus to critical chance is more useful in a heavy set if you want to able to just go straight up berserker through the enemies. I personally use the thor set, which increases speed when you stun, something definitely useful for heavy armor. Between the armor, the blacksmith hammer (until you get thor's hammer) and varin's axe to increase your speed even more, you can clear an entire fortress on your own with almost no effort
I got the Briton shield early on and I never changed it, I can't express how helpful it was. In my opinion it's the best shield and the most helpful item in the game

The flails and the shields as a primary weapons as awesome aspects of this game. Obviously spears are the best but I never play with them. The Dane axes can be pretty fun too once to level up
Tip: when u go to East Anglia, somewhere in the plains (i think) u will meet a woman called Roshan(Basim's mentor). She will give u a quest of eliminating someone, its quite easy if ur good at stealth assassinations. After that u will get FULL mythical armor 🤩
You forgot to mention you have to progress in the story to where you actually go to London to even be able to get the Britton shield. If not you can’t even get it cuz it’s blocked off. Also, if you’re running suttungr’s claw definitely run it with the viper bow. It increases critical chance with each hit, and that’s every hit hit just your bow hits. So with those two together you’re literally increasing critical chance and damage with every swing and every shot.
I've already got the majority of those weapons just bc I wiped out every wealth pointer on the map so that I can come back l8er for the sidequests. Here's what I think: Use the Hammer as a secondary to get that guaranteed knockdown Use Housecarl's Axe as a main hand weapon. Use spears when you need to distance urself from bosses that tend to deal damage to you from very up close (Doughters of Lerion, Animal bosses, Zealots etc.)
Couple years late to this but wanted to say hell yea blacksmith hammer! Looking forward to getting those diamond runes unlocked, it already has great synergy dual wielded with the Dopplehander greatsword, heavy dual wield + miasma. Blacksmith knocks em down, followup heavy attack poisons them, cancel that animation into a stomp. Poison cloud works everyone down over time
I think a cool game idea would be like the show Barbarians. Idk for assassins but where you get to play as both a tribal warrior and a decorated Roman soldier. Could be the same character like Armininius in real history
Most of the zealots killing, Suttungr’s claw is my only choice because of its thunder quick hit and upgraded to the mystical weapon and upgrade to the top, damn at level 100+ you can take down entire squad with pretty descent level above you. Others are just fancy to hold IMO.
I use ukonvasara in main and housecarl in secondary. When I get the slow motion from brush with death I use the spam secondary attack and it melts enemies
Sutgers claw is a prime piece more than ever. I'm running "Jords Viper" with Jords blade, Sutgers Claw + 5 piece Mystical Set (Jords armor) it melts away any enemy. Poison cloud arrow ability + Poison melee weapon ability = God tier. Jord is Thors mother so I wouldn't expect anything less than God tier.
You can make it even more badass if you put the 1.5 speed runes on them to hit even faster also put the fire ability on before attacking and after your fourth hit hold the attack button you will melt them

Nice video. I played most of the game with Blacksmith + Varin axe and Kopis + Suttungr Now that I've finished the game, in the run to platinum, I'm playing with Mjolnir + Briton Shield. Do you know the best off-hand weapon with Mjolnir in the main hand? Or is Mjolnir better in the off-hand? Btw, I'm pretty sure effects of diamond runes don't stack with other diamond runes and with the effects of the weapons. So having the restore health in the briton shield is useless.
There are much better Spears. But I get it. The healing dagger with healing rune and weak point healing rune on my bow I heal no matter how I attack. It’s so broken. I’m level 400+ I have all the perks but one I hate the bow melee link perk. As long as I’m attacking even if I get hit as long as I hit back within a few seconds I heal what was lost and heal more form the runes and dagger. I have really no use for rations now.
Fefnir fang spear and sepulcher axe. Had those as soon as i unlocked dual wield 2 handers. Absolutely decimated enemies. Light attack when there are more than 3 enemies usually triggers firey weapons. Then BURN THEM ALL
Dual spears (or spear/hammer for annoing shielded enemies) are deadly - quick speed, large reach and if you put heal on parry and heal on crit runes to them you are almost unkillable.
I just bought the crim reapers scythe from the festival. With Valkyrian jump or whatever and full adrenaline slots Ive been slaying every zealot and main opponent easily.
The carolingian longsword (bought from trader) does 148 damage fully upgraded and has 43 speed, and you can find a beggar and get the fury rune with stacks damage up to 10 times like the housecarles axe

The only change I would make to this list is to switch out the spear you chose and replace it with the spear of Leonidas because it buffs all forms of damage (ranged,physical,ability,ect.) The only catch is you have to have at least 1 var of adrenaline but if you've played the game then you know during a fight 1 bar isn't hard to get.
The blacksmiths hammer dual wielded with the Warhammer is so fun my runes are diamond runes increase speed and increase attack respectively its soo fun
I've noticed on PC, the game continues to run better after the updates 😊its weird to see the enemy indicators. I turned them off. so no marking. really makes it immersive with the lack of stealth
The gothic set shield is better than the Britton shield. It restores health on blocks, you don’t even have to land the parry, just block and it does the same thing. Idk who doesn’t like using shields, at least a light shield, with one of the katanas is what I usually use. You can’t block if you don’t have one, and with some of the heavier armor you only have a couple dodges before your stamina is roasted.
right now im duel wielding a spear and dane axe because they work so well together, the spear has the speed and reach and especially paired with the sprint attack skill you can just run at guys and take them out no sweat then if i get surrounded just special skill with the axe which is the sweeping spin move in your off hand and i mow guys down like no ones business then if i need to lay some hurt in place of speed just use the hand swap skill and throw the axe around, i feel once im further in the stats get my weight down and get some armour synergy ill be unstoppable
with the blacksmith hammer you can stun lock a enemy i a was a lvl 105 and i was up against a order soldier 160 and he didnt even hit me ones because he was on the ground the whole time super good weapon

A great combo is two heavy greatswords, the combos are great and you can dish out damage to close enemies, and you can still parry, charge, etc

Blacksmith hammer, with runes boosting critical hit chance, will lay almost everyone on the ground for a stomp. It's crazy op.
For a while I was dual wielding hammers and that shit had CRAZY DAMAGE.
I love using a axe in one hand and a shield in the other. It just feels the best and is the most fun to me

I do blacksmith hammer main. Varins offhand. The knockdowns and stomps happen so often with the hammer its like its own damage increase ability.
suttungr's claw is good in your main hand with the black smith hammer its one of my fav combos
That's what I was doing, or the hammer with the sarcophagus shield. Right now I'm messing with the claw and varin's ax or the claw and the Kopis.

There is a shield you can get bellas knap in Gloucestershire that poisons everyone on parry I highly recommend it

Briton sheild is best during raids/river raids so you don't have to use rations to heal yourself and you can revive other jomsvikings instead

Use spears when you need to distance urself from bosses that tend to deal damage to you from very up close (Doughters of Lerion, Animal bosses, Zealots etc.)
As someone who started the game recently I love these videos, its nice to have an idea of what to use lol

Couple years late to this but wanted to say hell yea blacksmith hammer!
Looking forward to getting those diamond runes unlocked, it already has great synergy dual wielded with the Dopplehander greatsword, heavy dual wield + miasma.
Blacksmith knocks em down, followup heavy attack poisons them, cancel that animation into a stomp. Poison cloud works everyone down over time
I found a shield that can drop a firebomb on parry, that can also be stacked with a rune. Bonus point is it has a skull on it and that's cool
I think a cool game idea would be like the show Barbarians. Idk for assassins but where you get to play as both a tribal warrior and a decorated Roman soldier. Could be the same character like Armininius in real history
I think a good Dane axe(excluding lagatha's) is the sepultchr axe

Most of the zealots killing, Suttungr’s claw is my only choice because of its thunder quick hit and upgraded to the mystical weapon and upgrade to the top, damn at level 100+ you can take down entire squad with pretty descent level above you.
Others are just fancy to hold IMO.
I use ukonvasara in main and housecarl in secondary. When I get the slow motion from brush with death I use the spam secondary attack and it melts enemies
Sutgers claw is a prime piece more than ever. I'm running "Jords Viper" with Jords blade, Sutgers Claw + 5 piece Mystical Set (Jords armor) it melts away any enemy. Poison cloud arrow ability + Poison melee weapon ability = God tier. Jord is Thors mother so I wouldn't expect anything less than God tier.
I like the two handed bone biter Axe
I found that that sepulcher axe is pretty great at cutting through enemies

The Sarcophagus Shield with the Spinning Death makes you invincible basically
I've got most of them and having two flairs is really fun walking around looking like Whirling dribish

When using Flails... Try using one in both hands...BADASS!
You can make it even more badass if you put the 1.5 speed runes on them to hit even faster also put the fire ability on before attacking and after your fourth hit hold the attack button you will melt them

Thanks I haven't played Valhalla in like a few months. When it first came out, I played all the time, I don't know what happened..... Guess Ubisoft turned me away

Currently trying odins spear main, thors hammer offhand, and thors armor. I have been using dual spears and that is op just like dual daggers.

Nice video. I played most of the game with Blacksmith + Varin axe and Kopis + Suttungr Now that I've finished the game, in the run to platinum, I'm playing with Mjolnir + Briton Shield.
Do you know the best off-hand weapon with Mjolnir in the main hand? Or is Mjolnir better in the off-hand?
Btw, I'm pretty sure effects of diamond runes don't stack with other diamond runes and with the effects of the weapons. So having the restore health in the briton shield is useless.
There are much better Spears. But I get it. The healing dagger with healing rune and weak point healing rune on my bow I heal no matter how I attack. It’s so broken. I’m level 400+ I have all the perks but one I hate the bow melee link perk. As long as I’m attacking even if I get hit as long as I hit back within a few seconds I heal what was lost and heal more form the runes and dagger. I have really no use for rations now.
Fefnir fang spear and sepulcher axe. Had those as soon as i unlocked dual wield 2 handers. Absolutely decimated enemies. Light attack when there are more than 3 enemies usually triggers firey weapons. Then BURN THEM ALL
Dual spears (or spear/hammer for annoing shielded enemies) are deadly - quick speed, large reach and if you put heal on parry and heal on crit runes to them you are almost unkillable.
I know, instant heal + crit + insane attack damage

I really like heavy axes and long swords when you dual-wield them they are really unbeatable

I just bought the crim reapers scythe from the festival. With Valkyrian jump or whatever and full adrenaline slots Ive been slaying every zealot and main opponent easily.
Flail is underrated, I've seen literally no one use that weapon
Dude though, best combo for me is Lagerthas axe and St George’s heavy shield with dual wield heavy skill

The carolingian longsword (bought from trader) does 148 damage fully upgraded and has 43 speed, and you can find a beggar and get the fury rune with stacks damage up to 10 times like the housecarles axe

You are talking about Dopplehander (that is bought) it has 52 speed

I use the suttingr’s claw as my main and blacksmiths hammer as my secondary. You will get a perfect blend of speed and stun

the shield "The morrigans guard" is in my opinion the best shield in the game because of its poison cloud on parry ability

The only change I would make to this list is to switch out the spear you chose and replace it with the spear of Leonidas because it buffs all forms of damage (ranged,physical,ability,ect.) The only catch is you have to have at least 1 var of adrenaline but if you've played the game then you know during a fight 1 bar isn't hard to get.

The blacksmiths hammer dual wielded with the Warhammer is so fun my runes are diamond runes increase speed and increase attack respectively its soo fun
I've noticed on PC, the game continues to run better after the updates 😊its weird to see the enemy indicators. I turned them off. so no marking. really makes it immersive with the lack of stealth
The gothic set shield is better than the Britton shield. It restores health on blocks, you don’t even have to land the parry, just block and it does the same thing. Idk who doesn’t like using shields, at least a light shield, with one of the katanas is what I usually use. You can’t block if you don’t have one, and with some of the heavier armor you only have a couple dodges before your stamina is roasted.
right now im duel wielding a spear and dane axe because they work so well together, the spear has the speed and reach and especially paired with the sprint attack skill you can just run at guys and take them out no sweat then if i get surrounded just special skill with the axe which is the sweeping spin move in your off hand and i mow guys down like no ones business then if i need to lay some hurt in place of speed just use the hand swap skill and throw the axe around, i feel once im further in the stats get my weight down and get some armour synergy ill be unstoppable

with the blacksmith hammer you can stun lock a enemy i a was a lvl 105 and i was up against a order soldier 160 and he didnt even hit me ones because he was on the ground the whole time super good weapon
