I love that they talked about how Oda told them they had to tone it down and voice their characters more humanely for the dub it was something I was wondering. Also love how they are aware of the absurdities of the anime like how someone keeps getting injured and walks it off in the anime but u can't do that in live action. I could listen to them for hours. It's an actual family they hv going here
It shows that Oda is naturally a business person. He knows how to sell his franchise and even gives his full story board to TOEI where the anime adds scenes Oda wanted to add to the manga but couldn't.
Dubbing actors is diferent of Dubbing animated characters, the animation is more sureal and fantastic than real humans actions, thats why the tone is lower and less "hyperactive" 😊
That has got to be one of the smartest things Netflix has ever done. Getting the OG anime voice actors reprising their roles in the live action in the Japanese dub

Love how they actually felt the same as us in terms of the design choices of the LA. Like how they talked about Usopp having no long nose but it still felt so right, Mihawk's design being not over the top but its still perfect and the Den-Den Mushi's realistic design creeping them out lol
Agreed with the Mihawk comment. I saw a Mihawk cosplay last year which the guy had too much makeup on and looked fake and made of plastic, I'm glad they realised how to adapt the costumes and makeup.

Even though we never see their faces throughout the anime, I can't help but smile just hearing their voices. It feels like I've known them for so long even though I've literally never met or even SEEN them before
Well they shaped our childhood. I watched OP German dubb till 2009 and after only Japanese and see the actors voice as real as they are made me tear up. I hope they stay healthy so we can get with them to the end game of OP
They are a literal hero to me, especially Kappei Yamaguchi. One Piece's anime only entered my life much-much later, but Kappei has been voicing a lot of characters from my childhood like Ranma, Inuyasha, Kudou Shinichi, and many else.

I'm a french Canadian and they are legend for me too. It's beautiful how the One Piece community break the language wall like never before. This is so precious. As a fan for the last 10 years, I can't help but feel ecstatic by the amount of love and attention One Piece has gained in the last year. To see our beloved voice actors participating in this project and working hard for One Piece makes me legit want to cry happy tears. I rewatched the season to hear the Japanese actors. The American actors were excellent, but to someone who has been watching the show religiously since the 2000s it was another treat to hear the original voice actors. Love that they brought back the originals for the Japanese audio
I just love how sweet and encouraging they are to all the actors. Lesser actors would feel threaten or criticize but they are so genuinely impressed and complementary. They are top-tier professionals ❤

It's mind blowing how these voice actors have given the ultimate justice to all the characters. I always imagined the voice actors to be much younger with all the enthusiasm. To know that all of them are older than what I imagined I am seriously blown away. One piece is a thoughtfully curated masterpiece.

2:31 there is no greater knowledge than the fact that the voice actor for a character they've been voicing for more than a decade saying that you are the perfect actor for that character. i seriously cannot even imagine a higher honor in an acting career.
Heck, not even a decade, it's been almost 25 years! That's a quarter of a century; they've been at this for so long that they live and breathe these characters in every sense of the word. They know this material inside and out. So for them to be saying that truly is a massive honor, like you said, because they've lived with these characters for almost 3 decades. I can't even imagine the pressure the netflix straw hats must've been under to represent this work, the original Seiyuus saying this about them must've been a massive weight off their shoulders (that and praise from Oda himself!)
The original voice cast gave this show a genuine touch. The live action is great, but I always feel like something was missing, and now I know it’s their voice.

How is this so wholesome and so funny at the same time. I love it!!! I agree with nami's voice actor. In the trailer we don't see much of nami. But in the show, she has the most emotional moments, and her facial really showed the emotions.
This is sooo special, especially because this amazing adaptation has given us official subtitled content from this legendary VA cast. The millions of English speaking fans can finally connect with them outside of desperately looking for fan-subbed interviews. Hope to see more and more as we get each season!
They're so adorable! I feel like they'd be easy to be friends with. It was especially fun to see how close they are to each other. If you're going to be stuck working with someone for so long, it's great to be stuck with a friend.

I haven't really watched OP live action dubbed but it gives me goosebumps, now hearing the seemingly disjointed (but it feels so right) super lively and animated voices from the more realistic live action. Japanese VAs really are something else and I'm super thankful for their existence!! Wow.
I wanna see more panels of these guys just chilling together talking about One Piece, manga or just whatever they want. They're so fun together and are like really good friends, which I guess is bound to happen when you've been working on a series every week for like 25 years

I love that the 'repeating 3 times', basically saying it to himself more than anything might be a more Western/English expression than in Japanese. I wonder, it was great. Kind of like when we get cultural expressions in Anime that are entirely Japanese and it's fascinating: What is natural in another language or culture.

Live action sucks so bad , the acting is terrible and the fights are even worse . The voice actors are being paid to give this BS stamp of approval .

Originally they were a lot younger. 24 years is almost long enough to retire with a full pension in some jobs.

They're so adorable! I feel like they'd be easy to be friends with. It was especially fun to see how close they are to each other. If you're going to be stuck working with someone for so long, it's great to be stuck with a friend.
I like how luffy's Va almost has the same personality as him

何回も何回も見返した唯一の作品😭ワンピース詳しくないけど、初期の頃は見てた。詳しくないけどすんなりと違和感なく見れた。感動したり笑ったり、色んなところに隠し要素もありで、本当に素晴らしい作品。シーズン2作成決定で助かる！今から待ちきれない！すでに撮影済みで、あとは放映するのみになってることを祈る🫣笑

I haven't really watched OP live action dubbed but it gives me goosebumps, now hearing the seemingly disjointed (but it feels so right) super lively and animated voices from the more realistic live action. Japanese VAs really are something else and I'm super thankful for their existence!! Wow.

I wanna see more panels of these guys just chilling together talking about One Piece, manga or just whatever they want. They're so fun together and are like really good friends, which I guess is bound to happen when you've been working on a series every week for like 25 years

When the original voices came back to do this version you know you are about to have a hit. I am definitely doing a second watch with there voices. I already switched it up for a few scenes but time to go all the way.
I love that the 'repeating 3 times', basically saying it to himself more than anything might be a more Western/English expression than in Japanese. I wonder, it was great. Kind of like when we get cultural expressions in Anime that are entirely Japanese and it's fascinating: What is natural in another language or culture.
