Thank you so much! I’m in a ceramics club where I live and I’m going to tell our members about your videos. What a great idea to use a plastic pie sheet! I work with Steve’s White clay and high fire but I’m sure I can successfully achieve wonderful treasures! I’m so glad I found you.
I absolutely agree. One of the very best. Only found this channel last week after pursuing many and l'm a pottery novice. But, l know good quality when l see it. ❤ it!
Paisano's Roost Farm (American Blackbelly Sheep) in Southern New Mexico: The bird and lacy triangle plate I could as a modern version of milk glass. A pearly glaze would let the details shine.
Loved the video and the rolling pin. Sharon Hoppe does amazing rolling pins. I always enjoy watching your videos. You do such a great job teaching. Always love the humor too! :-)
This has to be said, without your videos... I would have given up pottery. I have spent ages looking at videos and reading books to better educate myself, but they were always either to complicated or never quite explained stuff in a way I would be able to understand. But your videos have given me a new found confidence to try and create new forms using easy to understand techniques and simple to plan projects that create wonderful results. Thank you so much for keeping the pottery spirit alive.🥲
Daniel, thanks so much for the kind words. It’s gratifying to know we are reaching you in a positive way. It keeps US going. Best of luck to you in your ceramic endeavor! Jim
Hi Daniel. I just saw your comment and it really touched my heart. Thank you for sharing your experiences and your kind words. I really appreciate you. I am glad you persisted in the studio. Good luck to you! 🙂
Thanks BB! We are hoping to glaze these pieces this week and put pics in the community section...OR...we may even do our video on the glazing of these next week!
Where did you get the 1/2 round, hollow styrofoam please? And what kind of clay body are you using? Not all clay is suitable for this project. Enquiring minds need to know!
Hi Dawn. Are you asking about when I roll the texture onto the slab with the textured rolling pin? I trace out approximately where the templates are going to hit when I do eventually cut them out so I know "about" where the texture will need to be. on the slab When I roll the rolling pin over the clay, it thins, stretches and distorts the width of the clay so really those lines will be stretched out when I do put the template down to make t he final cut. You dont want to cut out the templates first before rolling as the clay will distort and the chances of the thinning out the edges too much is very high. ...Another good tip is to not cut templates out from the edge of the slab for that same reason (thin edges). I hope that is what you were asking about.
Hi Anne this is great ideas, thank you for sharing. I´ve thought this a few times, have to say it out "loud"...I love the way you speak during the videos, you tell us what you do and why but in a soothing way...love listening and watching your stuff.
So happy to learn your 'clay folding' technique..... now the creative juices have been awakened! Question: do you use 'spooze' instead of your regular slip to seal the seams of the folded clay? Thank you.
I tend to use what's available...I like the Spooze (we made a batch for another video), also use slip and plain vinegar...all seem to work well. Good luck!
I love this, great video, so original! This is the first I've seen from you, but I will now be a subscriber, thank you for making these free lessons for beginners like me ☺️
Hermoso trabajo recién te estoy siguiendo Ana, felicitaciones. Me gustaría saber cómo seca este tipo de cerámica y qué clase de barro es, soy Colombiana y quiero aprender mucho. Gracias
Hi. Would you be so kind as to send me the link to the large pastry mat you're using? Or maybe something equivalent if it no longer exists? I have bought so many that were not useful! Too flimsy etcetera. Thank you!
Where can I find the quilter's square you used in this video? I have googled using at least ten appropriate search words to no avail. Thank you so much.
I’ve made a few of the envelopes Anne, they make amazing gifts, I love the other folded bowls as well, I’ll certainly try some of those, thank you for the tutorial x x
Can you provide the template measurements (tops and bottoms of the long sides) for the 2-pieces oval bowl? I’ve tried making 2 templates and can’t seem to get it right!
Thank you Ann! This is the first video i have seen with handbuilding ideas that did not take 100 hours to complete 😊 I will definitely be trying these ideas over this winter 👍👍
www.amazon.com/Juvale-Sphere-Crafts-Hollow-Supplies/dp/B079FMCYMN Michaels or Amazon...like this one...they come in all sizes, I use everything from the 5” to 11” balls...good luck!
I love your work, your imagination! Your finger technic is impressive. After this movie I came to hundreds ideas based on working with sheets of clay. Thank you!
I never have used air dry clay - not sure if they can be food safe....I think air dry is more for sculptural vs functional. Again, not an expert, just my thoughts...might have to google on that one.
Ann, I love all your videos! The instructions are easy to follow and pair perfectly with the video. One quick question ---- where did you purchase the ridged mat? Thanks!!
Hi Janet - I've only been able to find these silicone mats long time ago at Walmart - not on Amazon...I've not been able to find them anywhere since - they are nice and thick and don't curl. Glad I bought several...if I find a similar model I'll post here. Thanks.
@Little Street Pottery - Anne - Just finding this and am sooo excited to try all of these. Do you have the dimensions of the folded planter pieces you did? I certainly would love to try that as well - it turned out so wonderful - but I am terrible at trying to eyeball that pattern :) thank you and look forward to seeing your other videos!!! :)

The most straight forward and plain speaking tutorial video I have ever seen. On ANY subject. Keep up the great work.

Lovely work as usual and as a relatively new hand builder, I always appreciate new ideas. Thank you!
Thanks Rosanne!
You have such a gentle touch. Even after doing pottery for nearly 20 years...I tend to over press sometimes... you give me hope. LOL
All of it takes practice. You'll get there!

Very helpful video. Thank you. Would love to see the finished glazed product. That's where I usually get stuck.
Check out our glazing vid from 2 weeks ago...we glaze many of the pieces created recently. Thanks for watching!
@@LittleStreetPottery Thanks, I just found it. Lovely results and agree with your decision re re-fire some. Loved the triangle dish glaze combo.
Just love these.. what size are the styrofoam half balls ??
I used the 8" versions found at Michaels! Thanks for watching!
Love all your methods that you used in this Video. Just wondering since Iam a beginner and using air dry clay would the same methods apply. Thank you
Love these elegant designs, thank you for sharing.
Why did you leave the cutout pieces in while you rolled out your design?

Me pueden decir por favor que clase de arcilla utilizan? Muchas gracias y sobre todo que esté traducido al español gracias
Love the idea on the altered rim of the thrown vase. Thank you! Do you do it right after it is thrown, or when it's soft leather hard please?
While it’s still relatively wet...right after throwing and still on the wheel. Thanks for watching!

Had several requests but can’t find these anymore. When I do I will post in community section. Thanks!
Stylish creations! Excellent video, too.
I tried to make some simple origami with something called (something like) paper clay. (It didn't go well lol) Have you ever used that?
Not used paper clay - you do have to ensure the right consistency (on any clay) to make sure it stands up. Keep at it!
Lovely! Everyone! Thank you Ann💐😍
Dónde comprar la alfombrilla/tapete de trabajo? Me encantan los círculos y medidas
in our most recent videos we put a link in the description. Gracias!

Got this one at Joanne's Fabrics - most any fabric shop should have one - good luck!
Trabalho maravilhoso! Obrigada pela aula!
Beautiful ! Thanks for all your lovely advices ! Merci beaucoup 😉
You are so welcome!
Please tell me where I can purchase the plastic mats you use...have only found silicone and the clay sticks to it. Thank you!
I got my last ones from Publix grocery store - you are right, you have to use plastic vs. silicone.
Thank you for a great video and tutorial! Lovely to see how people all over the world works with ceramics!
I just LOVE your idea's!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Hi. im from DK. Im using air dry clay from Das or Primo,,but yours look nice and does not seem to crack when you bend the clay. Love your video. 🙂
Thank you Ann .You ha e give me great ideas to add folds and create beautiful designs.

Anne, great video. Can I ask what kind of clay you are using?
I’ve made a few of the envelopes Anne, they make amazing gifts, I love the other folded bowls as well, I’ll certainly try some of those, thank you for the tutorial x x
Yes, great for gifts this time of year...especially when everything else seems to be sold out!
I Love at the all videos, it is beautiful...❤

Can you provide the template measurements (tops and bottoms of the long sides) for the 2-pieces oval bowl? I’ve tried making 2 templates and can’t seem to get it right!
Can you tell us where to find the mats for rolling rather than using canvas?
I get them on Amazon...look for the silicone versions. Thanks for watching!
Did you ever fire these pieces? Esp interested in finding out how the envelope piece looked when finished. Now that’s one I’d love to try.

We did not post templates for this project - it was before we knew how :)
thanks Ann. packing bubble!! Who knew!!
Could you show how to make a 3 footed bottom using the clay at the bottom of a cylinder?
Search for "Foot" in our videos - you should see that. Thanks.
You are a brilliant artist.
Especially Doritos 🤣🤤 thanks for all the amazing tips!!
A pretty celadon would be nice on the triangle. Liked and shared!!
I've always loved working w clay. These pieces looked like something fun to try! Thank you.

Very inspirational Ann...
Cheers...Freddie
Thanks Freddie! Hope you had a good show!
Thick canvas may be better for rolling on. They release easier, but you have to smooth after release.😊
You are a wonder, Ann. Thank you for your ideas!
hey Ann where did you purchase your hollowed 1/2 bowl from?

I would have liked to see the planter finished with drainage holes & a shaped basin to catch the water.

I would like to make the cross pot but overlay the sides or cross over the sides so it looks like it twists around😍

How can I get the template for the 2 part vase in this video.

Most people print them out to the size they need - the important thing is that the proportions are the same. Thanks.
Wonderful! I subscribed🐝🤗❤️
