I'm gonna definitely have to keep number 5 in my mind. I miss the floor often when doing a shuffle
Thank you, a great review. Due to health reasons had to stop tap dancing for 8 years, now at 68, started up again.....
This was so helpful! I'm a beginner/intermediate tap dancer and I started tapping when I was 16. I have a lot of catch-up to do, so thank you for sharing Shelby!
This is very interesting and helpful! I haven't done a lot of tap but when i was in lessons, the teacher said to always bend your knees! The shuffle one was very helpful too because I find I often miss the floor, especially when doing them quickly! Thank you 😁
I just started watching your videos. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Rhythm Boo thanks for watching!
I'm an older adult tapper (60). This video is very helpful for the tap dance fundamentals. Though I've done a lot of social dancing, tap dance requires more emphasis on technique than I'm used to using. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
I am so glad you find this video helpful! Thanks for watching!
Shelby, your videos are always helpful. Before COVID-19, I relied on my tap teachers to give a more in-depth explanations for steps, history, etc. But now I find your videos do that. Thanks for responding. Some people who post never respond at all. One of down sides of the Internet.
Your videos are so helpful, thank you so much for doing this!
Shelbyyyy what a nice interview, you're such a beautiful person and also a 100% artist. Your teaching is the best, nob doubs - I love you with all my heart - Thanks so much Shelby.
Great advice. Love it.
Thank you for these tips! I look forward to applying them. 😊🎼🩰
Shelby - you are wonderful! Your videos are incredibly helpful. Thanks! Joe
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
Hi from Norway. I'm a beginner, and, yes, this was really something to keep in mind. Thank you som much. I was having a little trouble understanding what you were saying, because of the ecko in your dance studio, so if I hadn't seen the rules in writing, I would probably not have understood the content in all the rules. Just a little feedback from me
Ya, I know the sound quality is terrible. But honestly if I didn't just film the second I had free time and there was an open room, I would never make videos, so I just do it anyway. Some rooms are worse than others.
you are so helpful, clear, and inspirational. thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion with us
Tino Nozaki thank you so much! Glad you find my videos helpful!

Jorge Cuadri Carvajo anytime!

Thank you!
Thank you! Your videos are fantastic
AzulM thank you so much!
I love tap dance shoes on the floor
Good video; very helpful info. N.B. underneath is spelled with an 'a'; not an 'i'. D- and see me after class.
PJ Malone oh I didn’t even see that. I wonder why spellcheck didn’t catch that. I have always been exceptionally good at English but a terrible speller. Lol.
Beautiful 😘😘 🇺🇸
Thank you!
Shelby, great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Super excited)
Hi Shelby. I was wondering if you have any shoe recommendations for beginner tap dancers? I bought a pair that was slightly used (cheap ;o) ) But I think maybe the heels are a little too high. Do you think the height of the heels matters? I wish you a really Happy New tap dancing year!
I definitely think heel height matters. They change where your weight sits. Any brand is fine for beginners but make sure you have a single hard sole, not split soles.
