I thought Buganda was built as a nation by Africans from all conners of East Africa and mashed together to create a country called Uganda. 🙄
Africans must understand that the fundamental of any peace is sharing.
Oluganda kulya. Why is it that all government
Top Jobs are filled with people from the same place. ?

Now that Uganda is becoming too hot for him to handle, with the opposition getting stronger by the day, it is time to admit in public what he has known all along. Why has this dictator's 35 year-old regime looked the other way for years? We have said time and time again that the first regime was the beginning of dictatorship when it abrogated both the Uganda Federation and the legitimate 1962 Constitution of Uganda in 1966-67, which had been unanimously agreed at independence and that this regime has failed to rectify what went wrong in 1966 and 1967, but to no avail.
Uganda has had not one but four constitutions since independence in 1962, 1966, 1967 and 1997, yet only one of them is legitimate! Instead of restoring the legitimate 1962 Constitution of Uganda, as we had demanded in 1986 and again well over 80% of Uganda in 1995 - with amendments if necessary - this regime has simply ignored that finding. Incredibly, it went ahead with yet another illegitimate republican constitution which was promulgated in 1997, in contravention of the legitimate 1962 federal constitution of Uganda. This regime continues to perpetuate its self-serving agenda by dividing up the country into districts, we never asked for and which are not accountable to any one, since they are not locally governed as it would have us believe. Indeed, they lack any local government, even though this regime pretends that they do. No, the districts scattered all over the country are simply a means of exercising power and control over the powerless people of Uganda, by the dictatorship in Kampala. Since they are not economically viable, they are therefore incapable of uplifting their constituents whatsoever.
The restoration of the legitimate 1962 Constitution of Uganda and the Uganda Federation before the end of this regime, would finally preserve the unanimous democratic decision we made at independence in 1962, to govern ourselves according to our will and consent and not as a dictatorship. We agreed that Uganda would be a federation of 15 self-governing provinces as follows: Ankole, Buganda, Bunyoro, Busoga, Tooro, Kigezi, Bugisu, Bukedi, Sebei, Teso, Acholi, Karamoja, Lango, Madi and West Nile. They would have devolved powers to levy taxes and to legislate local laws among others. Had we kept that agreement, Uganda would be far ahead of where it is today.
Uganda had been the leader in east Africa for 66 years since 1900. Having been handed a fairly stable country and a well-performing economy at independence in 1962, we have done practically nothing to be the good stewards of them we should be. Instead of maintaining her lead, Uganda has fallen way behind all her neighbours in Kenya, Tanzania and even Rwanda, without a chance of ever catching up. Since dictatorship began in 1966, the people have abdicated responsibility for themselves and are resigned to being told what to do by a succession of dictatorial regimes we have had since then. There is no question that denial of responsibility leads to irresponsibility.
Since 1966, the people of Uganda have not taken the initiative to find the ways and the means necessary to prosper, the end result being that our GDP has stagnated at a measly growth rate of just 2.5% for 55 years ( 1966-2021 )! Sadly, our political and economic institutions have paid the price. Even the parliament of Uganda is totally incapable of exercising its oversight duty to end the dictatorship. No wonder, the Uganda Law Society ( ULS ) has declared them a "useless" institution. Uganda has never had a peaceful transfer of power since independence in 1962. Incredible, isn't it? Therefore, I am not looking for a miracle. I have no doubt that this regime will eventually be forced out. It is only a matter of time.

While i never lived under Museveni s government. I was at mengo when Obote sent Idi Amin to remove my friend the Kabaka. Both regimes were very brutal. They coined a saying that a good muganda is a dead muganda. We lost so many citizens. I.mean people just walking down the streets. My friends were coming out of a movie , my cousins were farmers in luwero triangle when Obote forced them into a camp and their wives and slaughtered them. This is the idiot we educated at Makerere fed him.

@@kennethadubango2494 those of Apolo Kabali are shameless liars. They are the people who have destroyed the country and has put the country into the current situation. Today, why are journalist not going to interview Mama Maria Kalule Obote? They want her to die and they start lying about her. The current liars in power are afraid of the truth. Period.
