Thank you. I tried all traps on the market, and all kinds of bait with limited success. It was the heating of the food bait in the microwave that finally caught a large rat, living inside basement for months. Here is the method I used though. JT Eaton Jawz Rat Trap (rolled up duct tape on bottom to stick to floor), Rat Trap against baseboard wall (food tray facing inward agaist wall). I set the trap. Then I heated the food bait, I used Chocolate Yodel snack cake and small amount popcorn chicken, carefully placing the food bait on Rat trap food tray using plastic spoon (making sure I didn't press down, setting trap off). Next morning I woke up and caught large rat (has been evading all other traps/food for a few months now). It was the heating of the food that works to lure in the rat! Thank you!
Caught within 5 minutes of doing it he couldn't resist that melted peanut butter smell. Mind you mice are nocturnal, caught him in my garage at 7:30 am🐁🐁🐁took me four days trying to catch him until I did this.
I used a crushed almond and doused it with a drop of honey, then I went to school and came back. The sucker took the bait! Nice to know peanut butter works as well :o

I have caught 9 mice on a glue trap! Twice I caught 2 at one time! I never would have thought of putting peanut butter in the microwave to break down the proteins. I thought I had them all. But one more showed up tonight I am gonna try that idea with the peanut butter in the microwave. Now that make perfect sense.It should make my whole kitchen smell like peanut butter too LoL. I will let you know how it works out how fast it works.
Good information & you didn't talk us to death. I saw this on family feud but u saying microwave the peanut butter makes alot of sense. The last time I set a trap I used cheese and the mice took it & didn't even set the trap off.
If you are doing this at home, remember to let them back to their natural habitat miles away from where you caught them, otherwise they will come back. Or just give them the quick death they deserve, as slow death by cold and exhaustion or ant are horrible ways to go.
those are inhumane as fuck tho. its all fun and games until you have a mouse stuck half on it, running around, screeching. its torture. use real mouse poison that kills them fast.

I have worked in people's homes where they had nice that died & that's the nastiest thing u ever wanna come across.
oneandonlykumar007x yes you are 100% correct but they work great especially when you are dealing with an infestation with uncontrolled numbers like hundreds or thousands of mice

THE HEAVY DUTY VERSION IS BEST!!! GREAT FOR FLYING SQUIRRELS. Just make sure you secure the trap down well!

NO. Never put bait on a glue trap!!! Glue traps are already scented with peanut butter.

Yes, they may work but more and more people are finding them to be cruel. There are more humane methods you know. Just saying.
