  • The Ames plant in the city of Harrisburg produces 85 percent of the country's wheelbarrows and is a manufacturing success story in central PA. That's part of why President Donald Trump visited the plant this year to sign two executive orders.

REally cool! I am looking for an American made wheelbarrow and saw this video pop up! I remember when President Trump visited your plant. It was a big deal! Love it!

The company invest in a robot that's doing a job that one person could have done, and yet they employ two people to put a stamped name on each side the barrow tub which could have been applied by a machine quicker and more efficiently.

Why are the standard wheelbarrows are so small?
To buy a 500l wheelbarrow one has to pay £500 or even more!
This is just a bit more metal for the pan, so surly there’s no justification.
I’m going to make a huge wheelbarrow from scratch as I can’t find one I need and there’s no way I will pay so much money for it.

What features do you look for, and for what purpose?
I just did an overhaul on my barrow. Bothe the wood and steel parts needed to be taken apart, painted and maintained ----steel wheel for pneumatic tire, too.
Do you inspect and maintain your barrows, or just use them till they die?

Right out of the gate at 0:15 the man taking the stamp tubs out of the press no sleeves up to his shoulders no glasses no hard hat and then from there it's pretty much the same though towards the end there were glasses on people but they look like they were for reading.
It's hard to watch Ames which is a pride of American manufacturing with their fine products on job sites all across this country run a factory with so little regard for safety protocols. Clearly, no one ever sat for their OSHA certification.
I wonder what their insurance premiums are going to be like when their policyholders get a look at this video.
They probably thought it was a good idea as a promotional but if I were them I take this down although it's already out there. They really need to clean up their operation
