One repaint I'm surprised they haven't gotten to yet: where the frag is Demolishor? Did Hasbro forget that Demolishor and Scavenger were separate characters with different color schemes? How has it been five years since that Scavenger mold came out, and we still don't have a proper white Demolishor?
It’s probably because from what I can tell Scavenger sold horribly, they didn’t want to run the mold again since people didn’t like it the first time

What's even stranger about this repaint situation is that Studio Series did repaints at the start, such as Shadow Raider
Edit: and more recently with the NEST repaints, which don't even have any basis in canon or extra accessories like the previously mentioned Shadow Raider
I really don’t get why they are acting like they don’t have anymore bay verse characters to do - other than the twins which I can understand why, there are a lot of other characters they can make PLUS remake a bunch of characters they messed up on first time in the line
I'm hoping they get around to this after the TF:One line is through. I'm really hoping the rumored/cancelled TLK Drift was a remake that they just shifted to use later on (fingers crossed the same for Hatchet)

@Cdr2002 Even with the leaks we're still missing a bunch of AoE & TLK characters. All of the Dinobots besides Grimlock, Megatron (TLK), Hound from both movies, Infernocus and Dragonstorm (longshots tbh), all of Megatron's "crew" aside from Mohawk. And that's just off the top of my head
I wished that they made Studio Series updates of old movie toys. Imagine a Studio Series Dead End, Stratosphere, Swindle and all the other characters that didn't appear in the actual movies as figures. If Thundercracker can get one depsite never being in a movie then I don't see why they can't do it.

I don’t get why Hasbro hardly reissues anything from this line. They could easily repack the most desirable characters and make a boatload of money, and that way they could also have more development time on the next years figures, or ones from other lines.
A bunch of movie repaints or reissues would potentially pave the way for some of the best designed figures of all time with other lines, and give movie fans what they want as well!
On top of that, we still need a white Demolishor repaint of Scavenger.
Oh, and when it comes to the Gamer Edition side of things, there's been so many video games. Give us DotM Warpath, Breakaway, Shockwave based on that from the first game, Megatron X from that one Beast Wars Game... just so many directions they could go if they opened up with the games to not just be WFC

im suprised that hasbro hasnt done canon versions of repaints, one example i think of the top of my head are the KSI Drones , granted most were made from different vehicles (which i would love to get individual Studio series figures for) but hasbro could literally repaint and retool stingers head and done, do one of every color and call it a ksi drone, i'd buy every one, being a car fan and a TF fan, i would would to have different colored pagani huayras in my collection.

You didn't even touch on the repaints that exist in the movies themselves with no toys yet like AoE Bumblebee from Stinger (retool admittedly) or Scavenger from Demolishor, or any of the copy pasted drones from ROTF and DOTM
The frustrating thing about Studio Series is that despite how much repaint potential there is based on just past movies’ toylines, HasTak would rather make toys based on video games and concept art. I propose an entire year based on repaints and retools. Here’s my outline:

Tbh the only parts of SS really grasping at straws is SS86 and Bumblebee. Bumblebee finishes its whole movie this year and is now dipping into concept toys before we even continue the AOE Dinobots. We have three G1 Junkions but no AOE Hound. SS86 just really has Devastator and Megatron after this year but based on leaks, it looks like they're not only doing them, but bots we already got like Galvatron.
SSGE and (most) live action movies still have a lot to do, and adding concept series into the mix, those possibilities become endless. But the priorities just feel very skewed in the line and it lacks focus ever since SSGE and concept series came in.

Wheeljack Origins needs to be repainted/retooled into Origins Trailbreaker since he was there in that first G1 scene and transitioning from that Cybertron form into his Earth truck is reasonable.

I would love to see the G1 repaints. I would even like a repaint of Bumblebee still as Bumblebee but with a more G1 styled head sculpt. If they want to make more of a visual distinction between the 2 Bumblebees other than just giving him a more G1 head, get rid of the black stripes. The stripes don't really bother me but it's something the G1 color scheme didn't really have and it would help it stand out on a shelf as a different figure. Of course there's also the WW2 Bumblebee which isn't even yellow to begin with so you could actually make a yellow version of that. Speaking of which... that Bumblebee is actually based on a Concept design cause that is not the vehicle mode he actually appeared with in the movie. We still don't have a figure of his proper WW2 vehicle mode. There is a 3rd party figure of it which should not work because the robot mode has kibble of the wrong vehicle mode on it, that's why the Studio Series version looks like that but lets be honest, movie designs should not work anyway even if they do have the correct kibble that's why all of the toys have fake kibble sculpted into them. Like the gas cap and license plate on Bumblebee's crotch because there's no physical way to make that happen. Anyway the Studio Series figure has an accurate robot mode but a completely different vehicle mode than how he actually appeared in the movie.
While we're talking about the G1 style repaints. I still don't really like the weird design of movie Starscream with his huge upper body and little legs but having a more G1 style head is at least a little bit better. There is one use of that movie head I would buy if they ever did it though and I'm surprised this has never been done. Fans have repainted movie Starscream as Waspinator because his movie bug head looks more like Waspinator than it does Starscream. I hate the movie design as Starscream but if they did Waspinator I would love it. Heck even blend the two so it's half G1 Starscream colors and half Waspinator colors make the two head sculpts interchangeable. It could be a great reference to the Possession episode of Beast Wars. I would buy that figure if they did that. Heck make it even weirder... give me a 3 pack of Starscream, Insecticon, and Bumblebee all repainted as Waspinator cause they would all work in some weird way. RotF Insecticon is more like a fly but you could get away with making that look like a wasp in beast mode and the Cybertronian Bumblebee could be a reference to Wasp from Animated sharing a body type with Bumblebee.
BTW The concept design that red and white Ratchet is referencing wasn't even intended to be Ratchet. I want to say Red Alert cause of all the red but I believe he was originally going to be a Fire Rescue vehicle called Inferno... not a full on Fire Truck like Inferno should be which is why they decided to change it to Ratchet during development.
Here's another idea I'm surprised has never been done. We've gotten Barricade from Prowl giving us a more G1 styled Barricade in the Generations line but we've never gotten a Prowl from a Barricade. Barricade is one of the few movie designs I actually like except for that head design and I would love if they gave us a Prowl with a different head sculpt. In fact they could do all of the police cars from that mold, give me Streetwise and Chase too. Just change the head and the colors to match the character.
Jolt wasn't even in Dark of the Moon. He appeared in ONE scene in Revenge of the Fallen and it's weird that they gave him a repaint in the Dark of the Moon toy line when he wasn't in that movie.

I had to check just to make sure, and I am SHOCKED that hasbro hasn't given us a Studio Series Demolisher yet, despite him being a character that appeared in the first 8 minutes of ROTF and is an easy white repaint of Scavenger.
One retool I'd like to see from Studio Series would be "Transition Mode" forms for the KSI drones and AOE Galvatron: remold all extraneous kibble in both modes (i.e.: exposed robot bits in vehicle mode & innacurate vehicle kibble in robot mode) into the swarms of cubes they turned into, so they always seem to be mid-transformation.
Otherwise, I'd really like for them to expland into the movie's expanded material more than repaints; there's so much from there they haven't touched. Comic or game-only characters & designs, pre-Earth forms, stuff from Titan magazine's alternate timeline like the ressurected Jazz...

It's probably already been said, but that repaint of DOTM Soundwave WAS released. It was apart of the movie advanced line (AoE) in japan for whatever reason. Same as the G1-ish movie wheeljack repaint/remold.
They were planned to be released in the US for DOTM, but weren't when the line ended.
I think they should totally just make studio series twins, not for the public or anything, but so they can just give it to me personally.

I think the Deep Desert Brawl repaint was partially inspired by RID 2001 Armorhide's animation colours.
It's wild to me that we got whatever NEST Bonecrusher & Ratchet were supposed to be instead of the obvious Jungle Bonecrusher & G1 Ratchet.

I would really like to see a G1 homage Optimus prime and Megatron pack done completely with movie figures from studio series.
I heard there is a Pink / Purple Female Autobot Omega Supreme Guardian coming out from Studio 86 sounds pretty cool !
This would also give fans who maybe slept on the line in earlier years a chance to pick up molds that they missed and are now about 20 times the original price on the aftermarket.
For a mold they haven't done yet that has 3 straignt out the door, Evasion Mode Optimus could be done in a retail freindly version of the rusted out look from the film, a paint job inspired by other bayverse Optimus designs (perhaps derrvied from the images of Optimus intended for Galvatron at KSI) and a G1 varient.
There’s certainly precedent to release Deep Desert Brawl, since tan recolors of Brawl’s model are used as fodder in Dark of the Moon’s final battle.

Studio Series Sideswipe already has guns, so the repaint wouldn't do much for him. And I agree, it's weird that they haven't done all the Constructicon repaints; Demolishor in particular.
The issue with grimlock’s toy color scheme is the transformation of the SS figure would make one of the modes look discolored

Nightwatch Prime would sell like hotcakes
AOE Crosshairs would be an easy repaint (with a different spoiler), but they put themselves in a corner by having the hood form the trenchcoat... when it only works with the TLK alt mode.
I honestly wouldn’t mind a repaint of studio series Optimus primal that pays homage to his original beast wars design (ie sprinkle in some blue, red, & white on the design). I saw someone make an edit of it & it looked really good, also with less accessories (just keep the swords) to hopefully get him down to that voyager price point, although I’m not sure if that’s even possible with the engineering/parts count he has but hey I can dream.

PS. Collected 'Desert Brawl' in the 2007 Legion, Fast-Action Battler, Deluxe & Leader Classes! It is an entrenched redeco of the character for sure. (Not having it recur in contemporary toys is certainly baffling.)
I miss when Hasbro used to do unusual repaints and minor retools to figures based on just very basic aspects one toy has that another character shares. They still do it, but much less common than before.
They’ve also haven’t done any repaints of the ROTB characters either, which doesn’t help. I think the only repaint there has been the Scorponok army builders
They could do Longarm, salvage, Incinerator, Dispensor, Landmine, All the allspark Mutations, both Rotf Stratosphere and RoTB Stratosphere

I get what you are getting at, but wouldn't these repaints have to be in a different line other than Studio Series? I mean isn't some of the selling point "screen accurate " figures? I get they expanded to concept art, G1 character that is in the 86 movie for 2 seconds, and video games, but these repaint ideas are a step even beyond that. The N.E.S.T. Bonecrusher and Ratchet were part of the Buzzworthy line.
Maybe Studio Series should "end" by being rebranded?

I really dont understand why everybody is so adamant that the twins arent happening. We literally just got kiss players represented through the autotroopers. Theres no way hasbro leaves those two unrepresented forever.
Exactly. The Kiss Players Autotroopers has proven nothing is off the table. They even namedropped Kiss Players in the Hasbro Pulse stream when it was shown. Plus, it leaves the RotF cast incomplete in SS. Collectors want full teams.
It was intended as an Animated homage. And blatant racism is far worse than the weird shit Kiss Players was doing anyway. The designers have stated outright that they're not doing the twins. That's that. Give it up already.

@@nobodyimportant5140 There is a major difference between the two. Even if you choose to acknowledge Autotrooper as a Kiss Players homage and not a TFA homage, that's still not as bas as the twins. If they included a little figurine of one of the humans from Kiss Players, that'd be a different story.

Hasbro is kicking themselves by not using the obvious solution with the twins - give them different heads and call them 'initial concept', that should get around the 'racist' stigma - unless those heads were the initial concept, then they could just lie - who would care (besides the obvious)?
