Grand Prix Sprint Boat Races LAKE MONSTERS!

Southern California Speedboat Club Lake Elsinore Grand Prix Sprint Boat Races - a two day race of endurance where teams complete as many laps as possible in a two hour time span on a 6 mile course, each day. The boat with the most laps at the end of two days, wins.
Unfortunately, there was a bad crash on day 1 which delayed the race so rescuers could attended to the injured drivers. It also interrupted my production efforts as the drivers were friends of mine and I refocused my attention on the crash, its aftermath, and of course, my friends well being.
When it was all said and done, both drivers were ok but I ended up with gaps in my footage. Instead of piecing together a race video, I initially focused my efforts on telling the crash stories from my friends, themselves. You can view the crash interviews from both drivers through the link at the end of this video.
From there, time marched on and the race footage was set aside for the next event. But after recently reviewing the old files, I realized that I had a lot of good footage that the drivers deserved to see. After all, they were gracious enough to let me mount my GoPro camera’s all over their boats. This video is made up of clips from both days of racing. So while it may not be a depiction of the races in the order it actually occurred, I hope it does a good job of representing what these races are all about.
But most of all, I’m glad my friends Brian Vesely and Steve Davis were ok.
