Each summer, Carnegie Hall’s national youth ensembles bring together the brightest young American instrumentalists for intensive training and performances on some of the world’s greatest stages. After being unable to gather in the summer of 2020, the 100 musicians of NYO-USA (ages 16-19) convened in July 2021 at Purchase College outside New York City. Their three weeks of coaching and rehearsals culminated in digital concert performances.
I’ve enjoyed all the NYO-USA performances over the years but I think this may be the best one! Bravo!! And first trumpet was absolutely laying it down!
I am a life long musician and when I hear these teens play at this professional level of musicianship, it gives me chills!! These kids are the future professors and professional musicians in the major symphonies around the world! Bravo!!
Same but I think that one day I will join them. Fingers crossed
Absolutely right! And have you noticed just how many wonderful youth orchestras there are all over the world? It gives us all hope that culture will prevail.
