I appreciate the journey you take us every week. But I really appreciate sharing your family with us! Jim is an amazing chef and it compliments your awesome fishing skills!!! Thank you Sir!!
Jim is absolutely wonderful, I am so fortunate to have him for my father in law. 😊
Love when your father-in-law cooks! Such delicious recipes. Makes me hungry to watch you two cook and enjoy the meal after. Love that you use all parts of the crab, even the shells.
The shells will be used in one of our next videos coming soon hopefully. 😉👍🏻
Jim needs his own cooking show. His cooking knowledge, with your knowledge of the sea and its inhabitants is just amazing to watch. Look forward to the next 1 👍
Thank you Daniel. Have a great day. 😊👍🏻🦀
I absolutely love when you have your father-in-law in your videos. It is a joy watching him cook!
Jim is wonderful isn’t he. 😊🦀
Jim’s attention to detail in the kitchen is brilliant ! Love these catch and cook videos just as much as your normal videos. Really wish he would open a cafe or bistro so I could bring my family to taste these delicious recipes next time we holiday down your way 👍👍👍
Jim has just retired and has had cafes, restaurant and a hotel at one point. He has earned his retirement. 😊💙
I knew it..I just knew it!!..I knew Spargos kitchen was open 😆. Mr. Jim's kitchen etiquette is always top notch. A wonderful chef I'm sure of it. Everything he makes looks absolutely delicious! Instantly hungry everytime we appear in his kitchen. Tell him he has a fan would ya.
You can tell him yourself mate, he’s usually active in the comments. 👍🏻
What I like about Jim is he cooks some great things. The food he has to work with straight off the boat. That's what it is all about, from your pots to the table. Thanks for the invite into your kitchen Jim. Glad you all enjoyed the food, could almost smell the kitchen from here. All the best to you all.
Fresh is best mate. We love it. 😊🦀
It's always such a joy to watch Jim cook. He had my heart at "I never weigh anything ". 💕
He never weighs anything and yet it all tastes perfect. 😊🦀
Great Sunday viewing 👏 those crabcakes look delicious 😋
Mate they were a level above delicious!! 💙🦀
Spargo's kitchen is always a treat. Jim is a real gem. Thank you as always for bringing us along. 🦀
It is our pleasure Stu.
I think Jim should write a cookbook from these videos. His stlye would make it a bestseller :D , no measures, no fuss just the fun off cooking and experimentation for everybody involved which ends with beautifull and delicous food :D
Haha. The recipe list would be interesting reading. 🤣
Mr. Spargo, You're very pleasant to watch, and I love the way you handle your kitchen as well as your cooking! Always telling John to keep his fingers out of stuff and what not always makes chuckle a bit. There's no doubt your heart goes into all your recipes as every one left me wanting and wishing. I could only dream to taste the specialties you have under your sleeve. I'll claim to be your biggest fan, but I'm sure there's so many more that feel the same, and I don't blame em.
David, it is our absolute pleasure to share our videos with you. Hopefully Jim and I will have some more videos for you soon. 😊👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker Thank you both so much, looking forward to the new videos mate 👍🏻. By far my favorite UA-cam channel!
The episodes of you and your family and showing how the seafood is prepared is great. It’s a nice change up. Especially when you have the cooking skills of Jim. Thanks!
Thank you. I am glad you enjoy them. 😊
Looks so tasty, Jim is a fabulous chef and does the washing up! That man is perfect.😇
We have offered many times but he enjoys it.
They looked amazing.
Both me and my wife were definitely swaying towards the red pepper and chilli variants, but, to be fair, they all looked awesome!
John and Jim, a culinary match made in heaven!
They were my certain favourite. But the risotto was exceptional also.
Nothing compares with Jim's cooking; he is so relaxed in the kitchen and yet everything he cooks looks perfect. So glad you share this experience with us even though you avoid the parmesan cheese. Just so you are aware Swedish Fire Torches are being sold by Lidle for £5.99 each (a lot of money when it is so cheap to make your own).
Haha. I have seen that they are now stocked in several places. Funny isn’t it. I said to Hannah when we started this that we were going to change things, even if we didn’t see it happen. Our effort and content would change things. 😊🔥
Just brilliant. Jim's culinary skills are fantastic.
He is wonderful isn’t he 😊🦀💙
Cannot beat spargo’s kitchen!!!
No sir. 🦀👍🏻
Most enjoyable to watch this morning. I love Hannah's manners. How very relaxing xx 😀
Thank you Michelle. 😊
PP: John love the manners you all have, and adored the little jig Jim did behind you at the start!! 👍👍👍👍
I married into a family of comedians. 🤣🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I just love watching Jim cooking, you can tell he really puts thought into what he's making and takes great care with the ingredients, and love watching how the food is caught sustainably and brought fresh to the kitchen. Great channel!
Jim is simply wonderful isn’t he. 💙
I just love watching Jim work his culinary magic. I’ll bet they taste as good as they look.
Jim is magnificent isn’t he. He has never made anything I didn’t enjoy eating. 😊👍🏻💙
Blue Peter moment, gosh don’t you just love it when it’s all prepped and ready to start cooking. 😂
Haha. When you aren’t doing the prepping it’s magic. 🤣🦀
Nothing going to waste. Awesome!
The best way. 👍🏻
I do like it when you take seafood to spargos kitchen, it shows the whole journey from sea to plate 👍
I’m glad you enjoy them. 😊👍🏻
Good evening John and all,
Splendid post as once again. Love how Jim was doing the Charleston dance in the back ground of beginning of video. As a chef of 15 years myself absolutely enjoy watching Jim cook and gives me ideas for the restaurant and inspiration🧐, also as a novice fisherman boat owner take onboard all your advice and tips very seriously and watch and listen very closely to your safe at sea advice,!. Always look very forward to your posts and absolutely brilliant to watch, as always I will say thank you to you and all for your time and effort in making these fantastic videos John 🤝🇬🇧,,,,,, and Jim ( spargo kitchen, fantastic cooking and use of ingredients, fantastic chef🤝👍,
Thank you all 🥇
Glynn it is our pleasure to share what we know and love doing with you. 😊🦀
What a treat that you all are friends with Spargo. What an exquisite cook he is! You all made me quite hungry. It looked delicious.
Better than friends, he is my father in law.
@@TheFishLocker I didn't know lol . Even better!
Love watching your father in law cooking the fruits of your labour you do the catching he does the cooking please more regular cooking with what you catch x
When we can we will. 😊👍🏻
can't be bad having your own chef at hand . great video
Even better when he’s your father in law. 🦀😊
I went to my first clam bake in 1972 as a new bride. The host taught me to crack a crab just that way. Glad to know nothing has changed in 50 or so years.
I learned from my grandad.
@@TheFishLocker We learn much from the Old Ones. Wishing you well.
I love watching Jim cook. He comes off as a little camera shy, but this cat knows how to work the room! I've even adopted a few of his cooking tips! Gonna have to work the "Hannah pickle bite" thing for all it's worth John. Noticed Dad swept in and saved the day there. The pumpkin tease at the end was fantastic! Love home brother, kiss the family for me and tell Jim I said thank you for wonderful post.
Haha. I knew it was Hannah as she only but the tip off. Jim is a proper character when you get to know him and hopefully the pumpkin cooking will be ready soon. 😉👍🏻🎃
Can't think of anyting better to watch on a Sunday afternoon. I loved seeing Jim in the background trying to dance and distract us 2:00, it worked hahaa! Thanks again for sharing, John. All the very best to you and your family.
I’ve married into a family of comedians. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@TheFishLocker maybe so, but they can cook like no other!
Loved the Jim dance behind you, you are obviously such good friends, keep up the excellent videos, brilliant catch and cook, thank you Jim, John and your beautiful wife.
I married into a family of comedians mate. Every one of them thinks they’re hilarious. 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome catch! Love when you cook on the beach! So educational! Such a great guy… one of the videos we watched today you carried James to the boat after cooking on the beach and went back & piggy backed Hanna to the boat! Such a gentleman! 😍
Haha. That was a fun day. 😊
Thank you all so much. I watched this eating supermarket "deluxe" haddock fishcakes mostly potato, but imagining they were Jim's fabulous creations, it actually made them taste better. Looking forward to the Pumpkin tips, soup and seeds soon!
Hopefully the pumpkin video will be ready soon.
Great video, the catch and cooks with Jim are always my favorite, this one was especially enjoyable; thanks to you all :)
I am glad you enjoyed it. 😊🦀
I bet that kitchen smells so heavenly! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing life and family! I love hearing those crab cakes sizzling in the pan.
It is our pleasure to share what we love doing with you. 😊🦀
Yet again another fantastic video, those crab cakes look amazing. Keep up the great work everyone.
Thank you Richard. 😊🦀
Love this video. Jim is something else. Missed Fish Locker Jr. 😊
The food always looks delicious.
Jim is wonderful isn’t he. 😊👍🏻
Starving now ,
All looked mega..
Great to see the full process of the foraging, prep and cooking
Nice one john and family 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Stephen. 👍🏻🦀
Fresh crab cakes, they look delicious.
Unreal how nice they were. 🤤🦀
I did successfully grow a single lemon. Took off many of the baby ones to get a couple of large ones . Put it in a G&T and squeezed the remainder over some fish. The tree died in the winter so I decided to buy them instead. Nice to see home made tarter sauce. So much nicer than shop bought.
I agree.
Firstly, those crabs were the biggest I have seen you catch. I want to go and buy a crab to pick it the way you did. I get in a horrible mess eating crab. Jim, he is something else isn’t he? His ability to come up with different recipes is amazing. You are so lucky, all of you.
Jim is simply wonderful isn’t he. 😊💙🦀
Mr. Jim is amazing. Love to relax watching your videos!
The respect towards all ingredients is humbling. I love his cooking!
Jim is simply wonderful isn’t he. 😊💙
Wonderful lesson of cooking and dispatching a 🦀. Cakes and risotto looks mighty tasty.😋
They were delicious. 😊🦀
Jim is a lovely fella..his dishes always look amazing..My favorite fish locker vids😊
Thank you very much. 😊🦀
I do love watching Jim, Cook he is so calm ,it all looks delicious Thanks for Sharing 🙏💙🙏
It is our pleasure. 😊🦀
Jim never ceases to amaze me with his delicious dishes. (Birdseye hang your heads in shame) Fantastic video, thank you everyone.👏👏❤️
Jim is wonderful isn’t he. 😊🦀
I've so missed Mr. Spargo's kitchen episodes. Mr. Spargo, I'm not a great cook, and I don't always understand what spices, etc you're using...but this time I did! All because of your tutorage! I understood the delicate with the dill sauce and the spicy with the lemon! I'm not saying I've graduated yet though, lol. Can't wait for the pumpkin episodes! Have a wonderful week Fish Locker Family!
Cooking with Jim is wonderful. I myself have learned so much from being with him in the kitchen it is fantastic. 😊🦀
My kind of cooking, great ingredients, simple methods
And the pumpkin seeds, a delicious snack
Pumpkin video incoming. 😉🎃
hello John. Your catching skills with all types of sea food combined with the chef skills of Jim make for a wonderful video. The only problem is we don't get to taste the final results. Another captivating journey finishing with a delightful family gathering & meal. Cheers to ALL the family, Don from South Aust.
As always Don, it is a pleasure to share our videos with you. 😊👍🏻
I always enjoy these spargos kitchen videos! Almost as much as the pot hauling ones
Thank you Jay. 👍🏻🦀
incredible video mate, great to see the kitchen once more! hope you enjoyed your meal John! godspeed ✌🏻
Thank you Ben. Have a good one bud. 🦀👍🏻
Hi John another great catch and cook video. Jim is such a brilliant chef, his knowledge and cooking skills are superb🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed the video Matt. Jim’s great.
Love Spargos Kitchen. Have me hungry at 9am on a Monday morning 😆👏👏👏
Glad you’re enjoying the videos Barry. 😊👍🏻🦀
Excellent film, Jim is a star, great dishes. White crab meat with a squeeze of lemon and a dollop of mayo mixed up and put in fresh crusty brown bread as a sarni is delicious.
I prefer a fresh white bread bun. 🤤👌🏻🦀
Hi, John. This was a GREAT session of picking, cooking, and tasting crab--my favorite crustacean. We have a very similar species here in Maine (USA) called the rock crab. I used to catch them in my half-dozen lobster traps and kept my family supplied (and delighted) just as you do.
I was positively drooling as you and Hanna devoured and raved about Jim's Chile and Roasted Red Pepper crab cakes. Fortunately, he did such a thorough job of describing how he put them together, that I THINK I can come close to reproducing them. Best to all, Chris
We purposefully create simply recipes so that people can replicate them at home. Please let us know how you find them. 😊👍🏻🦀
I love that Jim recommends tinned crab meat if that's what you have available to you. Of course fresher is better, but for viewers who aren't near a fish market or the ocean, use what you have 😁
We make all of our videos with that in mind. Simple and repeatable by everyone who watches. 👍🏻🦀😊
Yeh that’s the problem when you live in the midlands like me. Yes we have fishmongers but it’s finding any catch fresh. It’s hard when your hundreds of miles from the nearest coast. Guess it’ll be tinned crab meat for me😂
Absolutely love this channel!!
Always entertaining. Always a real treat to watch.
Thank you very much. 😊🦀
Thank you John for that, I know I hounded you about the cook part and that was fantastic. Your father in law is a great cook. Like I said I'm just a country boy that loves doing different things and cooking has always been fun for me. Besides all of the other things I do. Lol. Again thank you and your family for the fun and informative video.
Dave
I hope the prep and the cooking part was helpful for you. 👍🏻🦀
Your videos never shock me bro. Always fun, educational and great editing. What a Talented Family you are! From the catch to the plate (Jim mate you are a Legend!) + Hanna's work she does away from you and add the little man with his intelligence and expanding knowledge. Total Class! Always a pleasure to see. My granddaughter came up from London today (aged 8) with the other two grandkids. First thing she said???? Can we watch that MAN who goes into the woods and dives underwater and fishes and has pots....I said WHO? (forgetting i showed her some of your vids - Her reply YOU KNOW, Mr. Locker! His son did a windy on his head on a piggy back ride LOL...She loved this vid. Keep creating bro you have a young generation watching you!
Haha. Did a windy on his head. 🤣🤣
Thank you John,Jim and Hannah that food looked delicious 🤤
It is our pleasure Martin. 🦀👍🏻
Cracking video John and Jim , only just had chance to catch up, always look forward to the kitchen magic that Jim conjures up and the witty banter ⭐️.appreciate both your efforts 👍🏼👍🏼🦀
Our pleasure mate. 👍🏻
Can never get enough of your videos and love the cooking portion has a asmr effect so relaxing 😊
Thank you. 😊🦀
For a lemon seed, sunny windowsill about 1cm deep into compost and cover the pot with cling film, keep soil moist but not wet. You'll need to re-pot earlier than you think or it gets leggy. Can't say if it'll work this time of year but when it's warmer, for sure.
Great video as always.
Thank you. 🍋
Thanks John, you know I was one of those asking for this catch and cook. Really enjoyed it and appreciate the fact that you engage with your viewers!! For the smaller legs, try a rolling pin next time. You can roll the meat out several at a time.
That doesn’t work with crabs mate. Lobsters yes because their shells are thinner and malable, the crab shells need to be cracked. With a rolling pin they would splinter into the meat.
Can there be anything better thanfresh crab. Yes when you have caught it yourself and then had your father in law prepare some delicious crab dishes. Enviable!
Nothing better than catching something yourself and being able to share it with family.
Lovely John & Jim, I use capers in my salads too, adds such lovely flavour, thank you for the recipes. Jim should buy an established lemon tree as it will take forever to produce from seed!! Regards to the family, greetings from Cyprus. 🐟🐟🐟🐟
I think the journey of raising one is part of the joy.
@@TheFishLocker I agree John but they really do take years and years, I have 2 but they were 7 years in producing fruit and that is in this climate! Regards
Another great vlog, love the cooking, quite inspirational, thank you John, regards to family 👍
Any time John. 👍🏻🦀
Absolutely brilliant , the most detailed video I have personally viewed lots of videos but now I wold be confident to cook and prepare crab 🦀
It just takes for someone to explain things simply for it all to make sense. 👍🏻🦀
oh boy.. can't wait for low tide foraging videos now! scallops, king cockles, razors, gapers,,
mussels, and all kinds of clams as well as the lobster and crab finds...🙌🏼
Hopefully some coming soon.
@@TheFishLocker 🙆🏻♂️
Enjoy all of your videos: On the beach, Out on the Boat, Down the Shops... but oh yum, those trips to Spargo's Kitchen. Jim is a gem. And that risotto, eh? I doubt that I'll be getting any crab meat any time soon, but that risotto can suerly be adapted and redeployed. Thanks!
All of the recipes we share are made in such a way as that they can be adapted to suit your preferences or dietary limitations. We know some folks are allergic to shellfish. This could have white fish in it.
So nice sharing the fruits of your hard work with family.
No better way to celebrate them 🦀👍🏻
Well done to for another Spargo's kitchen delicious recipes, making a mix of crab dishes. Can't wait for more
More on the way. 😉🦀👍🏻
Fantastic content John. Love Jim's work!
Glad you enjoyed the video mate.
Wow! You just might have the best video’s on U-Tube. I love the way you involve your family in your video’s. Keep them coming.
Thank you Robert. We are simply sharing what we are doing and would be doing anyway. We are sharing what we love doing. 😊🦀
Smashing video. Love watching Jim cook and sharing this video with a girlfriend who is much better in the kitchen than I. Ulterior motive, of course.
Clever 😉
Wow ! Magic ! You can't beat crab, thanks for sharing this with us, brilliant 👍👍
Our pleasure Stuart. 👍🏻🦀
For the lemon tree seed : gently peel the lemon pit hard shell, then get a paper towel and put it on it then fold one side over the seed and damp the towel, then put it in a little zip lock bag and place it in a dark area that wont be bothered. Example for places: the back of a cupboard, in an unused oven, or in a dark section of a pantry. Wait about two weeks and the seed should germinate this is how i got a lemon tree :D also great cooking video :D
Awesome. I’ll do that. 👍🏻
Thank you food looks great Chef Hats off to Jim
Jim is simply wonderful isn’t he. 😊👍🏻🦀
I really love your "Spargo Kitchen" vlogs! Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!
It is our pleasure Craig.
How exciting!! Real freshy caught crab cakes & coconut cream crab risotto..it just does'nt get better than that!!! Lovely video..super!
Glad that you enjoyed joining us Margaret 😊🦀
I love crab cakes! Never thought of using mashed potatoes. Will give them a go! They looked amazing!
It helps make the mixture go a little further if crab meat is limited. 👍🏻🦀😉
Always love the videos with Jim such a treat and I got a laugh watching him play behind you while you talked about cooking the crab 😂
I married into a family of comedians 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Awesome catch and cook, nothing fresher than that! Thanks for sharing John! Cheers to you all! -Steve-
Our pleasure Steve. 🦀👍🏻
Love these episode's - Brilliant - thanks so much . Hannah definitely the pickle thief
Haha. She wasn’t fooling anyone was she. 🤣
Such a good episode. Jim is a legend. “Keep your fingers out of the egg wash…otherwise you’ll end up with Chipolates (no idea what that is)“…… Nek Minut…. He’s hands in…..10 Crumbed digits…. lol😅😅
And you trying to do it delicately, pinky pointed out like a true tea drinker….Gold. 😅
Thanks again.

We try our best. Doesn’t always work but we do try. 🤣🤷🏻♂️
Another great video and the food looked amazing, how lucky you are 😊
I am glad you enjoyed the video Vikki 😊👍🏻🦀
the crab cakes looks so delicious and the sauce too and the risotto. 😋🤤
All of it was a culinary delight. 😊🦀
I'm dribbling buckets here watching this food cook
Haha. Glad you enjoy it. 😊👍🏻
Fascinating, mouthwatering and delicious…. I’m going to stretch my neck out on this 😊. Once I’ve removed the gills, I’ll cook everything. This would also include everything in the shell. The end result, something extremely flavoursome. I wouldn’t remove anything but the gills. Jim has proved himself once again an extraordinary Chef… Kudos. R
That completely your choice Rolf. I explain why we do things our way simply for informational purposes. 😊👍🏻🦀
Jim is amazing 👏, everything looks delicious - but I love 🦀 crabs
Crabs are delicious!!!
I love your videos, every single one. I am not fishing or even eat shellfish but the content your videos I found extremely enjoyable and cooking tips are absolutely amazing. I sending you and your family big hugs. Keep videos coming, I really love them😍😊
It is our pleasure to share our videos with you Anna. 😊🦀
Fantastic video, watched every single minute of it! Lots to learn, thank you both very much. 👏👏👏
It is our pleasure. 😊🦀👍🏻
Looked delicious! Tastes even better when you have caught them yourself.
Am not a huge fish eater but love Paella and Fideau plus calarmares a la romana, the Spanish also do crispy crab claws. And ofc fish n chips with tartare!
Basque 'Hake' also lovely (baked with a creamy sauce).
I may ask Jim to do a Hake video. 👍🏻
If Paradise is as good as Jim's cooking looks - I want to go there ..🙃
Haha.
Thank you I think this was an wonderful video and the how to make crab 🦀 cakes was a joy for me thank you so much 😊😊😊❤❤❤
It is our pleasure. I am glad you enjoyed the video and have a wonderful day. 😊🦀
Another amazing video with Jim! :D I love these so much!! xD
Thank you. Have a good one. 👍🏻🦀
For a lemon tree, you have to put it straight into soil. Citrus don’t like a lot of water. They are like succulents that way. I know from experience. I have successfully germinated oranges, and they are growing in my cousin’s grandmother’s backyard in Florida.
Thank you Angelica. 😊
Great video John. enjoyed watching catch the crabs but enjoyed watching eat them even more. many thanks to your Father in law he is certainly a great chef!! cheers Ian
Thank you Ian, Jim is top notch isn’t he. 👍🏻🦀
