Assembled correctly - the two blue plastic sections pull apart and allow you to swivel the lower half to flip between flat and edge trimming. It's slightly stiff but easy enough to do.
Thank you! I bought one today and found it easy to assemble and quick to charge, but I couldn't work out how to change the head angle to go from strimming to edging. Your method looks much simpler than the one in the instruction book (which I tried but it didn't work).
Thanks Helen for your comment. The 360° handle is great. No need to mess around or struggle with the locking sleeve or buttons. The handle does the job. Once you have decided the right tilt adjustment by pressing the button (instruction booklet p26-27) this can be your position going forwards.
Thanks for the informative series. I stumbled across it looking for a clue as to which way to restring the spool as like an idiot I didn't think to pay attenton when I pulled off the last bit. Anyhow. Appreciate that rotating the handle to edge is possibly a little easier than rotating the head but by rotating the head the guard can then be run along the lawn edge meaning you do not have to hover above the ground. Also personal preference I know but I always strim first. That way the mower sucks up most of the strimmer cuttings.
Thanks John for your nice comment. I always mow first 😀. I Will probably do another video now on how to replace the trimmer line 🤔 Part 4 coming up!! 😂
One thing I don't think you mentioned is that the instructions say to always remove the knife protector before use (p.28 in the book). I don't know why - or when you'd use the knife.
Thank you Helen for your comment. 689Twin has explained nicely, thank you. So yes, Just slide the back plastic protector upwards and this will expose the knife. This is to cut the spool line when it’s fed automatically. But remember to replace the black cap afterwards to avoid cutting yourself when storing your trimmer.
Had a macallister, which could’ve done with a touch more speed but otherwise fantastic for the money. Gave it away so About to purchase the titan version which I believe is basically the same as above (?).
Hi just ordered second hand off eBay and I bought it without battery and charger. It's a MGTP 18L I model. Where can I get a battery and charger for it please?
I charge mine every 2 cuts. Eg 1 week cut grass, use trimmer. Then following week cut grass, use trimmer. Then charge for next cut. So I never run out of charge.

Have grass over a road to cut, so needed a cordless trimmer.

The knife is in the shield, it cuts the excess line when auto spooling. If the protector is on the knife the line will eventually damage the shield.

Either try eBay for spares or speak with manufacturer. Details should be on internet.
Thanks mate. I've tried that. But hopefully something will come up.
God bless you 🙏
I've got one and think it's great tho I didn't know I could turn the handle to edge. I was doing it upside down! 🙃
🤣 it’s all about personal preference and what you find comfortable when using. We don’t have to follow instructions and stick to the rules!!😉
Just got one, hope its does well.
Mine is still going strong and working well.
Mine is still going strong and I am very happy.

Again?
Thank you for this video I have the same exact one and kind of hard to set up so Thank 😅u
Thank you for your kind comments.
@@lockie4912 You know? I have to give good comments on good videos.
Can you buy spare batteries ? Thanks
You would have to speak with Mac Allister to answer this question I’m afraid.
Do you leave the knot in the end of the line?
No.
Is it washable??
You can wipe/brush the trimmer after each use. I wouldn’t wash it as it has electrical parts. And water could ruin your trimmer.
you assembled the machine wrong ... the battery should be down and the handle up
