FFXI Maiden of the Dusk Very Easy THF/DNC Solo w/ Trust

- This is the fifteenth video in a series covering all of the High Tier Mission Battlefields. This one shows how to beat Maiden of the Dusk on very easy as efficiently as possible so that you can farm the lilith armors. I also go over what to expect in the higher difficulties.

Run number 239.... it finally dropped! 140 runs between 4th and 5th piece. So happy to be done, good luck to everyone out there going for it... keep at it!
Grts! I'm at run 185 at 2/5 armor. I've only been doing it a few days though (non-stop). So not very long yet!
I've been lucky so far on drops thanks to this method I'm at 100% win rate, I went with AAEV, The rest you suggest but I go /war I'm using Anchor Lua for knockback though, and 2 trusts that erase me so I'm not usually bound often and mandelic stab does more fyi without using SA or TA so I used that when TP down wasn't up, and Evisceration when it was up
Lol I'm on run over 200 and have yet to get a armor peice Granted I was on mnk but i have ran a ton of the runs with thf friends but still no luck for me. I have lvled thf now and I have all peices but body now but every day doing 8 to 16 runs and 6 months later still waiting for my last peice
I tried this as THF/DNC on Very Easy after reading the title of this video and I failed. Then, I actually watched it and matched my gearset as closely as possible to yours and I won the first try. It's a grind, but that gear with your trust setup works. Thank you for the video!

Thanks so much. This was an extremely helpful guide. Just wanted to pass along to others assembling a Lilith gear set: a Tuisto Earring is better and much easier to get than an Ondowa Earring+1 and an Engraved Belt is a good waist choice if you don’t have a Chaac Belt. Also, carbonara is a good food for extra HP.

I got all 9 in about 50 runs using SCH, amchuchu, apururu, brygid, koru, aamr for TH on Easy. For about 20 runs my brother came on thf instead of aamr. Fusion self sc > pyrohelix 2 was enough to kill her if she doesnt erase her self. The whole fight from buffing to dead can take 4 minutes with luck on erases.
I used THF/WAR and started by using the Turms set (replacing with Malignance as it dropped) defending ring warder's charm +1 and engraved belt. Stacking magic evasion magic defense and dark resist GREATLY reduces her damage and you can ride berserk no problem because all of her attacks are dark magic. For trusts I used Aparuru (UC) King of Hearts Joachim, Uka Totlihn and Koru Moru. Provoke is also very useful for keeping her off the trusts. Using this setup I never even got close to orange HP.
Also one of the rings from Adoulin reduces knockback significantly and reduces damage received by 7% (which stacks nicely with the defending ring) and will make this fight much easier, however you are going to have to give up your Haverton ring and pay out 600k Byald (300k to change, 300k to change back when you are finished with this fight) to do this. It's not necessary but it does make things easier.
I'm on my 50 or do attempt. I have all the drops except club hands and legs.

I just recently started doing this fight regularly. I go on THF/WAR (Mlvl 32) so I can 'voke right at the start. I don't bother with a tank trust at this level, I am the tank. I also spam VE. I can win on E but it's not guaranteed. For Treasure Hunter I just keep my Plunderer's Armlets+1 and Skulker's Poulaines +2 equipped for a combined TH+7. So far I have all the minor pieces and just the Chapeau from the main set. I noticed your head and legs are blanked out in the equipment grid. Also, when I enter the fight my linkpearl changes. It swaps from my L1 to my L2 just after I enter. Doesn't affect anything in the fight though.
Went as RDM with trusts ando got sword on 1st try, need to do some more runs to see if I can get amor pieces.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I cannot hold hate in this fight. I have pretty much exactly the same gearset you are using(except DRing and Twilight neck). Selh'teus dies very early because he gets hate immediately and nothing I do takes it off. I tried /DNC, /RUN spamming Flash and using Lux runes and /WAR spamming Provoke and using Berserk, Aggressor and Warcry. Nothing works. I use the Flee trick in the beginning, I use Collaborator and Accomplice...am I missing something?
EDIT: I'm using all support Trusts cause I don't have August, FYI.
just as a matter of interest and somewhat off subject - what are the two addons / plugins for the buff/debuff bars and also the chat readout of damage from who to who. Thanks in advance. Great video by the way - just started doin Lilith ( just came back after many years away ) - on about run No.10 and nothing yet.

Hey, I dunno if you would have any insight into an issue I'm having, but I figure it can't hurt to ask. In the first few seconds of the fight, she does an aoe and kupipi and koru go down. Am I doing something wrong, any ideas? I can still clear, but its like 50/50 from there. I have the boosted trusts, and my gear is similar to what your using. Thanks!
Ahh yes... I had this same issue and I'm sure many others do as well. There is a little trick I learned that made this easier. I was on Thief so I pulled weapons out so I'm ready to attack and then I hit flee and ran PAST her... then when you get 5 feet or so past her turn and hit her... this will make it so normally yourself and August are facing her and everyone else is now behind her. Now you can fight safely without your mages getting blitzed at the start. Hope this helps!

@@NextGamesGuide Wjhat I did was run into the center and then engage so the NPCs would follow me in before setting up camp. The issue is that the circles at the outside of the arena can attack and if your NPCs camp there they'll get immediately slaughtered,.
So the only thing that confuses me here is that TH works on battlefield drops? Has it always been this way? Or is this primarily a HTBF sort of thing? Either way thanks for the info, will have to give this a few tries to see what I can do.
That is correct Treasure Hunter only affects the HTMB's to my knowledge, having the most significant effect on Very Easy, Easy and Normal difficulties based on what I've seen and read. Hope that helps. Thanks!
@@NextGamesGuide that's great, thank you. I don't have very good THF gear so I was hoping to do this on Warrior with a hybrid set but if that will require like 10x the amount of fights I might not be up for that grind. Will definitely give it a shot this weekend though!

Ironically it's an addon called... Debuffed :) Should be a default option inside of windower 4.

According to BG, if I’m understanding it correctly, the max TH you can get from gear, atmas and any other outside sources is TH8. TH9 - TH12(14 if you have 1200 jp on THF ) can only be gotten through TH procs. So why over cap TH?
It's because the closer your gear TH level is to the TH level you are going to, the more often it will proc to level up. So if you have TH10 in gear and are trying to proc TH and get from TH8 to TH9 it will proc more often then if you have TH8 gear on.

Wait so you can actually get gear and weapons from VE high tier battles? Like all of them including tenzen and the avatars VE?
Yes in general. Now I'm not certain for every single one so there may be exceptions. Please note the drop rate is VERY low, so if you can step up the difficulty, you should. I've even had a friend get Gere Ring on VE Odin... though in over 100 attempts I have yet to see a single drop on VE. So do know that it's very rare on most.

I would avoid using feint and sneak attack or trick attack at the same time as those abilities are your best chance or proccing treasure Hunter
Yes this is true. I was confused as to why you were mentioning it as I normally do seperate them but after watching this video it looks like there is an occasion right before I hit TH12 where I do use sneak attack and feint in the same attack round. Chalk it up to what I call Lilith brain... after a long run of Lilith's you can do some silly things. :)

So this video doesn't show the gyves method, but you're directly attacking Lilith. Is this what you always did? I find when she does that she'll one-shot the tank at some point with her whip attack. Did you have issues with that?
Yep this is the strategy I used for all 300 and whatever runs. Trust did occasionally die but was uncommon and rarely lead to a loss.

How do you keep her from pushing you back and binding you out of range?
You want to have high enough magic evasion to resist the bind which is more easily done as you start getting a piece or two of malignance gear.
23 runs in and I have the same drops your did but in different order. Sword, earring, club, legs, pole.
I'm about 100 runs and haven't got a drop since pole at 23.
Running as THF and did a few runs as MNK/THF to mix it up and because she drops in like 4 minutes that way. Usually run Brygid, Seltheus, Koru, Kupipi, Yoran
How do you have that's TH counter? Which add-on is that please let me know
I think it was called TH Tracker, I no longer use it and note it interferes with other addons that track TH (such as battlemod).

10% Drop rate before applying Treasure Hunter? Cause it still feels pretty low drop rate after ~20 runs, no drops, TH11+
Sadly the drop rate can be kind of hit and miss. We have many who had similar experiences to me and got several pieces in first 20-30 runs (note I am referring to ANY drop, not just armor) but others who just can't seem to get a drop after 40 runs. I can say 20 runs isn't really much of a sample size so keep at it... entirely possible you could get 2-3 drops in your next 20 as others have.
there's no real good info on how treasure hunter works, most people feel it just opens potential slots for treasure to drop not actually influence the quality of the drops.
I personally solo on war/mnk with no treasure hunter and I've done 5 runs lost 1(because I'm using different trusts) and I've gotten the pole already
So after about ~200 runs, I was able to get every drop with ~TH11. The weapons and earring came out first, and then the malig armor. The last malig piece took the longest - dropped after about 70 runs from the previous drop. A LS mate of mine mentioned how every drop is still competing for that drop slot, regardless of whether you already have that drop in your inventory or not, which would explain why the last piece always takes the longest to drop.
since changing Trusts and doing this method I'm at 4 drops in 12 runs 2 armor 1 weapon 1 jewelry

I just tried my first run of this at VE and got absolutely obliterated in less than a minute. Can't even get her past 95% HP.
Hey good video, as a returning player when I hit 99 I went into abyssea to farm for 90 harp. I am almost finished and my next goal is to finish wotg and do this fight. What is a good comp for me on bard? I would like to do Normal or Difficult so I dont have to do 200 fights. Plan is bard first then evolve into thf/ ranger/rdm. Working on heavy metal slowly but 95 / 99 harp will take 1-2 months based on my math.
I have your gear set and some Malignance gear I got with a friend. I cannot solo this my trusts are just dying on VE
man you got lucky with this shit. I'm 3/224 atm. This HTMB is god awful with the drop rate.
I do this as thf/war with all support trust 2 whm, rdm, dnc and seltus. You can easily kill her before she kills you. 5 min fights. Would be faster if I had good gear for thf.
Which whm and dnc trusts specifically?
@@MPAbsorb apururu(whm), uka totilhn(dnc) koru-moru(rdm) kupipi(whm) selh'teus or Joachim (brd). The key for me is to have her spawn those geyers on one side of the map usually the right side. then run to the other side of the map to fight her. Worst case she binds the healers at the geyer and they waste all there mp healing each other. Spam evisceration till she dies. The healer pull hate a lot that's when I try to get a sneak attack in. Some times you have to disengage to make trust move out of harm.

Got the staff and sword in 7 runs. 40 runs in and nothing since then. 😑
135 runs still only seen malig sword, just bought 6 runs from a carry group on VD still no pieces. Total of 141 runs. Anyone else as unlucky? Also like to note im running with my friend was thief constantly getting th9-10

@@NextGamesGuide some on THF, but mostly just using my SCH since I can more consistently blow through the battle on that job.
@@thereluctanthireling Understood. I think that may be why the drop rate has been so bad... the increase is drop rate is quite dramatic with THF. Recommend giving it a try for 25 runs or so and seeing if your luck changes. Good luck!
