I loved Highlander your depiction carried many forms of martial arts.
My relocation was a kata from Shorin Ru saying to myself I Know that Kata.
Thank You for such Great Memories.
    Peace
    Dean

Marshall Teague (Jimmy from Roadhouse, Walker Texas Ranger) would have made a great Highlander villain. He was in all the 90's shows back then but somehow evaded you.

I've noticed that you(Adrian) do a lot of spin moves in your sword fighting style. Is this due to your extensive dance background or is it from martial arts training or maybe a combination of all of it? Really enjoy most of those shots. You look super graceful. Thx for these little talks. 👍

Great points. Love the show just found your channel, Aikido going on for a little more than 20 years, and Iaido for about a year. So, of course, I have seen a lot of moves in your show that I've learned from a different art form.

It had nothing to do with martial arts, but I grew up on figure skates and I've sometimes seen martial arts movements that have reminded me of myself going into a jump or spin. For me, momentum leading to that second occurred along a linear path, but spatial awareness, knowing exactly where I was when I left the ice, and where on the blade edge I would land, etc. sometimes comes to mind.

I was somewhat fascinated by blocking moves you executed in the alley with the 2 surveiling watchers in the " The Watchers " episode after your first intro to Joe at the bookstore. Great techniques but seemingly to grandiose. LOL. Just an observation. Thank you.

looks like I see you guys doing some hand moves that I call a " kolly style ". My main style of karate is a Shotokan style. But I learned many other style along the way, like all other foot works. I learned a really good kung fu sword kata, that use to win in a lot of free style meets, back in the day.

I wonder if Adrian Paul has any advice? I'm writing and starting to shoot a project that will have some fight choreography in it, and I sure could use all the advice I can get. Anything about being behind the camera? Thanks!

All I can say is out of actors that I saw on tv shows that did any style martial art you seemed to do it with a bit of grace that made it more believable that Duncan had been around for 300+ yrs. Btw what tattoo do you have and what does it mean? I only got 1. That's a triquetra which also stands for both my daughters names. It was to remind me of a day we had one of which I was very proud.

As much as you were known for your sword work, I also enjoyed the episodes where you did staff work as well. You were very good with the staff, too, I would have enjoyed a fight scene with staff vs. sword. I don't recall if the staff episode was during the days with Bob Anderson or F. Braun McAsh, I don't know if either of them would have worked with the staff?

Adrian’s martial art I noticed is Choy li fut (long swinging fists like in the movie highlander endgame) and his palm strikes and deep horse stance would be hung gar. I don’t recall any episodes he used any wing chun

My philosopny is learn the move, not the art. All arts have pros and cons. Some are indeed better than others.
