    Great review! Santinelli has been our main edger provider for over 20 years; we wouldn't have the reputation we have today without them.

      Yeah. I always feel kind of bad or awkward or well, something. I'm sure that some other companies make great edgers too. They just happen to be what I worked with for years and years and years and was always impressed with their quality and reliability. As I've mentioned in videos a conservative figure would be that I have made around 10,000 pairs of glasses over the years. Perfect well no, nothing is right? But if my cars over the years ran like my edgers did I'd be in a happy place. John

    Does it still feel the rear side and the front side of the lens separately ? The edger doesn’t look different any different than the 9000, apart from the drill module. That’s a 15 year old design.

    Great video. Thank you. Is there the option to export the lens info from the tracer to a printer or another device for jobs that you might want to have finished at an external lab?

      @LaramyKOptical  3 роки тому +1

      Yes. Santinelli and others sell remote stand alone tracing units. Literally just the tracer sitting on your counter at work. You do the trace and send the file to the lab (computer). Assuming the lab has compatible software - you are all set. Used to be that a lab would even furnish one for you but I'm not sure about that anymore.

    Hello (: I’ve had watch some of your videos and learned from them, thank you! I wanted to ask.. - I got this machine, trend 8, and the drilling are not accurate as it was at the ME-1200. The technician came this month three times already. I don’t know if the problem is with the machine or with the technician.. is it like that for you too?

    • @LaramyKOptical
      @LaramyKOptical  3 роки тому

      I had a ME-1200 here for a few months. So short a time I'm not sure I ever used the drill function. The ME-1200 is the flagship - top of the line unit. I don't have anything to compare it to but once I had the LEXCE dialed in the drill function seemed to work quite well. Until the rep stopped by and helped me dial it in things weren't so great. And I was doing some frame testing for a company so I was playing around with it quite a bit. In the start up kit you should have plastic drill templates that are used for the initial setup process. I'd record everything you do, grab screen shots of settings, run the lens and break out the calipers. Right is right - wrong is wrong. Maybe a little troubleshooting on your own and then call the HQ. Holes big/small/high/low/off center/angled/inconsistent... I know it might sound silly but can you "feel" any play in the drill head unit?

    Hallo sir, After 4 Year Using is it thats any problem ?

    • @LaramyKOptical
      @LaramyKOptical  10 місяців тому

      I had no issues with the various ones that they loaned me over the years. I had very few issues with the ones that I used daily for 10+ years when I was working. Of course it depends a little on how it used and cared for.

    hi to drill the wholes for a three pieces lenses... the size of the drill has to be changed manually

      Not necessarily it is more of a router bit than a drill bit. The bit is (almost always) smaller than the holes required so it drills through and then cuts outward to enlarge it to the proper size. Yes, some old school stuff was drill bit based but not the new computer driven stuff.

    • @javierlope733
      @javierlope733 3 роки тому

      Oh ok so what is the drills minimum diameter to make the holes...
      Thank you for your reply

    • @LaramyKOptical
      @LaramyKOptical  3 роки тому

      Oh gosh I'm not 100% sure but the smallest holes I've seen for a drill mount with bushings are 1.3 I believe. I'm thinking that the bit in the edger is under 1mm (0.8 I think) and works from there. Sorry I don't have one here at the moment to check. The router style bit is also why it can cut slots and shapes.

      I'm sorry to hear that. We aren't really here for product "reviews" and without a lot more information I'm not sure I'd go strictly by what you say - but - I'll leave this up anyway. Thanks for watching. John
