Breakfast was my favourite meal in Taiwan. Find the little stalls doing the rice flour pancake type things filled with egg and marinated pork and even plastic cheese (trust me!). Night markets are also amazing. Taiwan isn’t like the rest of Asia as in everything finishes quite early apart from the night markets.
It's becoming ours too always a classic, kind of similar to English breakfast in a way that it's a bit dirty and greasy aha but so good. We'll try show as much as we can! Have a top weekend 🙏
You guys have very classic tw breakfast. The brown drink you got for breakfast is rice milk (rice+fried peanuts+sugar+water), the soup with fried bread is salty soy milk. You add acid to make the soy milk creamy.
Both drinks in the bowls are soy milk but one is savory and the other is sweet and traditional. The drink in the glass is peanut flavored and unique to Taiwan.
It’s very awesome for you to choose Banciao as your first day travel spot. Most foreigners will visit Taipei as their first spot.🇹🇼 Whatever , we all welcome you to enjoy our diverse food and culture
Ai yu jelly is a natural jelly made from a fruit, if im correct you take out the fruits guts/meats andrub it under cold water in a cloth bag and when it it turns the water into a jelly, my guess is the fruit has a high amount of pectin or something

Hi Ellis WR! I hope you don't mind. I'm an American Taiwanese, the characters on the refrigerator going from right to left, higher to lower are: Rice milk, soy milk, red tea, milk tea. Red tea tastes funny, but it's usually for older folks or those with traditional taste. Taiwan is exicitng! People really are nice, don't let their intrigue and curiousity get to you. Everyone in Taiwan is taiwanese so they are so interested in you/your culture and find it hard to express their excitement because life in Taiwan is a lot about family & work only.
