It's fucking depressing how I used to have such a happy childhood that I actually never saw Mafia 2 or Driver Parallel Lines as sad games. Now that I went through shit in 2022 and 2023, both games hit way different. It makes me realize the pain.
mafia 2 one of the best story games I've ever played. I also thank my father for letting me play it as a child, & today as an adult I know what this game wanted to say to me back then. that you don't trust anyone, that you shouldn't give up, etc great game easy.
Man, this brings back memories of a better time period. 14 years ago this game came out (or there abouts) I used to sometimes just leave this track on while doing other things or just to sit and reflect. The composer(s) Matus Siroky and Adam Kuruc along with the FILMharmonic Orchestra really helped make the game that more immersive when adding tracks like this. Back in the day, this was a common occurrence when you paused a game, sadly, it doesn't happen as much anymore, probably due to effort or because games are now more seen as profit making machines now compared to when companies used to care about the quality of their final product so extra details like this are left off the main product. I think, this track symbolises the mafia life. Pausing it may give you a brief respite but, sooner or later you are going to have to go back into that world. The track itself is melancholic, depressing and there's glimmers of hope in it but ultimately, going down this path can usually only mean one of two things. You either live long enough to become numb to everything, destroying everything in your path or you end up being whacked, the piano in 1:41 is like a death. It's an eternal struggle of life and death, the ongoing threats of death and the constant heat round the corner along with the turf wars and dodgy dealings and betrayals and backstabbing's and instability of the life itself or you end up incarcerated but in Vito Scaletta's case? well, he came from poverty and the time period he was in was not a nice one so he felt he had few options, along with Joe Barbaro I suppose so it's like a tragic play being performed LIVE right in front of you until the finale when everything comes crashing down and you don't know what just happened or what to think, was it all worth it in the end?
Idk why, but this version of the pause theme just gives me flashbacks to 2020. Particularly March, May and December of 2020, when I wasn’t in a good state mentally
Признаться честно, музыка в замедленном темпе звучит куда атмосфернее, чем в оригинале и под неё можно задуматься. Классная все же мафия 2 игра (как и гта 4)
Always great to find these little hidden gems on UA-cam, you only have 36 subscribers right now yet you've slowed and reverbed some songs that I really love, thank you very much for that. I'll bump up that number from 36 to 37 :)
This mafia 2 (my very loved one game) can describe my whole life struggle and current situation and all story i wiil play this music when i will count my last breath 🫁🫁
I love mafia 2 I grew up playing it I always favored it over gta it was more better I didn’t care that it was just single player which they did a complete remastered like mafia one but with more side missions etc
There are 2 things that bug me about this game. One is the plot with Henry being a rat, doesn't make sense to me. I agree with Daniel Vavras. But despite that, it reaaally makes me sad just how small this game is. I like that the story wasn't drawn-out, but I'm sure they could have found a way of making it longer, while still being interesting. And yes, the soundtrack is great
@@veter5872 There might have been a way of making that work, but I like the "surprise" that Vito was following his father's footsteps all along. We're sold on this idea that his father was an honest man, only to find out much later into the game that he got involved with the mob after all, and that's where his debts came from after he was killed (hope I'm not misremembering). Starting the game with Vito's father would have defeated the purpose of that revelation, and we'd be playing a similar story twice in the same game. But I might be wrong Edit: If you're talking about dlc, that's a better idea, but a proper dlc, not the "go here", "chase that guy" with a "bunch of green arrows pointing everywhere" nonsense that we got
@@mariosoares5431 Yes, I would like a full-fledged dlc after the main plot, where the main character is Vito's father, where his whole story is told, how he joined the mafia and how the same mafia killed him. But the best thing was to make a new part about Vito's father after this part, and not what we actually got...

A fellow connoeisseur. I feel u, same here.
It sounds more melancholy and deeper.
Good version.

great comment 💯
The atmosphere in this game man...so good even for just a pause menu
Vito smoking a cigarette is such an aesthetic design
we need more of mafia 2
We need mafia 4, which should be happening in the 60's looking for joe in las vegas
What fucking las vegas you idiot
Didnt Joe die?
@@Sh4d891 no he didnt die
@@agashi2815 ah, okay 👍

The beautiful memory of this game for me is something else. The atmosphere and everything..
My life is so sad that one of the best moments of my life was the feeling while playing in "Mafia" for the first time
Slowed and reverb made it way deep

This song reminds me of how much I threw away important things and today I realize that I should have learned from them but now they are just memories
