Once you assume there is a god, and then choose one from the many available, it is easy to endow that god with your own notions of preferred behaviour, nature and characteristics - a wonderful closed-loop all within your own mind.
I always had doubt about God’s reality and existence, believing that the concept you outlined in your comment is plausible, until I had a prophet, who was from another country and didn’t know me at all, speak to me and begin telling me word-for-word what I had prayed in a private prayer the night before, just between me and God, and he also told me what God’s reply to my prayer was. It was then that I realized that logic and reasoning alone cannot find God, because He is beyond them. You are free to believe and choose as you wish. I certainly welcome you to accept Jesus Christ, but I love you either way, and truly hope you are well. 🙂
@@jordanmicahcook At least you have a personal experience on which to base your belief. I can't accept the proposal that one should believe in (the Christian) God based purely on faith - as endorsed in John 20:29. Faith isn't equivalent to truth.
@@food4thort You are correct. There are many people who have faith in many different, monotheistic “gods,” and we can’t all be correct. With how little we humans know about the universe and reality, compared to all that there is to know, it’s really anyone’s best guess right now as to the ultimate truth about reality, in terms of human logic and reasoning. I’m only interested in people “finding Christ” because I believe God is love and I want people to know how priceless they all are, and for them to know that they are loved, and for them to find the fulfillment that comes along with knowing those things, and for their sins to be forgiven so they can be restored to all the fullness for which they were created. I genuinely care about you, even though I don’t know you, and I want all the best for you, and I’ll still feel that way even if you disagree with my beliefs. 🙂

I can also tell you @food4thort that I studied many religions for 7-8 years bc, for me, at a certain point, believing Jesus was the true Messiah had to be for way more reasons than me having more exposure of information about Jesus growing up than other 'gods'. My studying, including different religious doctrines, religious history and creation/scientific facts led me back to Christianity. For those that faith is enough for, that's ok. If you ask Him (Jesus) to reveal Himself to you, He will! Shalom! (Peace Be With You)!
