The Begley Family - The Final Set, Hornpipe & Reels - Moscow 2010

Brianin, Cormac and Brendan Begley finishing off the Moscow gig with a long fascinating set of tunes. The hornpipe is called Her Lovely Hair Was Flowing Down Her Back and was composed by Martin 'Junior' Crehan of West Clare. It is followed by two reels from Donegal, that Brendan calls Con McGinley's, and then by a wild 2-part version of the Morning Dew.

It's the angliscised name. The actual name of the song is as Gaeilge(in the Irish language) This is a phrase in Irish that was traditionally used as a passing compliment on an woman you would be attracted to, so in Irish you might say: 'Tá gruaig fhada dhubh uirthi.' - or literally, 'there's long,black hair on her.'
