Robinson is excellent and has been for a couple of years now. His crossing has really improved and he’s an excellent one on one defender. finally the late present i've been waiting for, a Fulham video about a US player. its a christmas miracle! Thanks Adam! Hopefully we can keep Jedi till the summer!
Ive been saying this for weeks. For me he's the best American to play in the prem.. yes Dempsey and Donovan scored goals especially Dempsey was great at Fulham, Freidel Guzan and Howard were great too but none have been the best in their position at any particular time. For me Robinson has been by far the best LB in the prem this season and last season, his defending, positional awareness, overlapping and crossing have been top class
Donovan isn't really in the conversation for best Americans in the prem all time because he was bad for Everton. Same way Weston McKennie despite being a good footballer he's not one of the better Americans in the prem all time because he was literally at his lowest point in his career when he was on loan at Leeds. If you were gonna add another attacker to the mix it would be Brian McBride or Pulisic.
the biggest difference from Robinson this season and Robinson from past seasons, is his decision making - being able to gauge the distance to the ball against his athleticism before deciding to step in to aggressively intercept or make a challenge leading to continuous breakaways Reiss Nelson's injury is a huge blow as it means Iwobi has had to move over to the left and takes away a lot of the dynamism of that LHS. That's not a slight on Iwobi however, as he has easily been a top 3 performer for us this season. But a lot of his best work has come from drifting inside off the RHS and combining and rotating with ESR, finding himself in those little pockets that a natural 10 would pick up, with Reiss Nelson and Robinson holding the width on the left If we could find a way of breaking down low/mid blocks (we've dropped 11 points against the bottom clubs, most of those at home) we'd be right in amongst the fight for top 4
Just to add in the chelsea game Maresca made efforts to stop robinson by dropping neto a lot deeper in the game. it worked until the 85 minute. thats a good point to know for Chelsea fans
Adam, you may have tried to move the fish too soon when it’s frying - it’ll stick at first and then unstick itself, like a pancake (providing the pan isn’t too hot)
Thank you for also saying at the end that he should probably stay at Fulham. I'm American and have always really liked him and it's cool for your players to play at the top clubs of the top leagues but, for one I like Fulham as a club, one of my favorites in EPL and it fits him perfectly and he always plays so I think it's the best place for him at the moment
I watched the Copa America in the summer and as an England fan the difference between Robinson for the USA and Trippier on the wrong side for England was depressingly huge. Also: please do a video on why Nottingham Forest aren't shit this season.
And that was in our old system under Berhalter, as well. Pochettino is letting him play with even more attacking freedom and it looked great against Jamaica. I’m excited to see how things will look when we also have Sergino Dest healthy again at right back.
@@Anchises He’s certainly developing into everything we hoped he would. It’s a weird pool of players right now in the US national team. Easily the best group of midfielders and fullbacks we’ve ever had, but there are concerns at center back and forward, and this pool of goalkeepers is the worst we’ve had in the modern era. We’ve gone from having four Premier League starting goalkeepers at one point to none starting in Top 5 European leagues. Matt Turner plays fine for the national team, but his lack of game time at the club level over the last three years is concerning.
Strangely, he’d probably have more assists if he whipped more crosses into jimenez on the first post. Just against chelsea, there must of been at least 3-4 chances for a first time cross into the box. All their attackers are incredible at attacking the space
Just because you are the best football UA-camr and I want to write this somewhere. What do you think about these transfers for Man utd. Niels Nkounkou at LWB, Azor Matuziwa and Mario Pasalic to replace casemiro and eriksen? Of course more activity if other players leave. Niels, Azor and Mario would according to transfermarkt cost 31 millions. If you compare Niels and Nuno Mendes on FBref you will see that they are very similar and Niels actually better at some things. Especially if you consider that he plays for frankfurt and not PSG. Azor is a defensive midfielder who is good at progressing the ball (Consider that he does not attempt as many passes as some of his peers) He is also a excellent one-one defender and knows when to dribble (high take-on success rate). Mario Pasalic is also a great passer and a good carrier. His defensive stats are a bit low (but might be because he kinda plays cam. With this you can question his defending of course, but he has in his carrer also played deeper.) and his one-one ratios both defensive and offensive are a bit low. However he reminds a bit of Rodri in his stats and is also a great box threat both with xA, but also with xG. If you answer please be critical!

Robinson was up against TAA. He destroyed him last year and did so again this year. Robinson benefits from a team that sits back and exploits teams using his pace. How good would he actually be in a top side where he is asked to actually take players on when face when the opponent is doing what Fulham do, sitting back?
