I swear until my dying day I will never for the life of me understand why this song not only wasn't appreciated but was overwhelmingly disliked. I just can't wrap my head around it. Seriously what's not to like? Personally I think it could have done without Beyonce but do people not see the rarity of the honesty this man is willing to share with the world? Is he not allowed to have down times where he's depressed or feeling a certain way? Even if you don't like the music (which I'm guessing is the main problem with it because lyrically I just don't see what there is to hate about it). If you think there has ever been a better story teller with his bars you're sorely mistaken. The man is an absolute genius and love him or hate him don't dare sit there and try and act like another rapper dead or alive can do what he does. If you listen to the words you can't help but feel how he felt. In an industry where sadly white rappers aren't respected and their careers are usually pretty short he has outlasted them all and not just them but nearly every other rapper period. He has made tons and tons of money if it was about that or that's all he wanted he could have retired years ago. Instead of walking the politically correct line he says what needs to be said even knowing it could very well cost him fans. What's funny is for every 1 black rapper who has a problem with Em there are 99 others who respect him and know just how good he is. Those other guys are just jealous and racist and have a problem with his skin color. The music industry certainly knows how good he is. Just think about this...think up as many collaborations between big time artists and think about the order they usually go in, usually the featured artist goes first to ramp up to the album artist. That's just how it is done most of the time, but not with Eminem. Look into it and see how many teams despite being the featured artist he is saved for last. That's respect right there. Of course it's also a little bit of self preservation on the album artists part as it wouldn't be a wise move to have to follow Eminems verse. Ok sorry I went of a little more than I meant to.

I swear until my dying day I will never for the life of me understand why this song not only wasn't appreciated but was overwhelmingly disliked. I just can't wrap my head around it. Seriously what's not to like? Personally I think it could have done without Beyonce but do people not see the rarity of the honesty this man is willing to share with the world? Is he not allowed to have down times where he's depressed or feeling a certain way?
Even if you don't like the music (which I'm guessing is the main problem with it because lyrically I just don't see what there is to hate about it). If you think there has ever been a better story teller with his bars you're sorely mistaken. He has a talent to be able to take you there to have you feel like you're standing there watching it happen.
He did his usual clever, multiple meaning verses like he always does and did an insane rhyme scheme that no other rapper could do carrying a ending sound all the way through verses. That is beyond incredibly hard to do as your narrowing your word choices significantly. I love how honest he is, how he shares with us his own doubts and how other peoples opinions or harsh statements can't help but build up. The man is an absolute genius and love him or hate him don't dare sit there and try and act like another rapper dead or alive can do what he does. If you listen to the words you can't help but feel how he felt. In an industry where sadly white rappers aren't respected and their careers are usually pretty short he has outlasted them all and not just them but nearly every other rapper period.
He has made tons and tons of money if it was about that or that's all he wanted he could have retired years ago. Instead of walking the politically correct line he says what needs to be said even knowing it could very well cost him fans. What's funny is for every 1 black rapper who has a problem with Em there are 99 others who respect him and know just how good he is. Those other guys are just jealous and racist and have a problem with his skin color. The music industry certainly knows how good he is. Just think about this...think up as many collaborations between big time artists and think about the order they usually go in, usually the featured artist goes first to ramp up to the album artist. That's just how it is done most of the time, but not with Eminem. Look into it and see how many teams despite being the featured artist he is saved for last. That's respect right there. Of course it's also a little bit of self preservation on the album artists part as it wouldn't be a wise move to have to follow Eminems verse. Ok sorry I went of a little more than I meant to.

I absolutely fuckin' LOVE Eminem's sense of humour. He deadpans so well & it usually just goes over SO many peoples' heads. Lol, Annie didn't even really get what he meant (about not feeling privileged) until he ran the whole sentence out for her.
