With Australia, it is a little tough, because nearly all our road signs, signals, lines, and poles are nationwide. It is easier to work out based on how green it is, the soil colour, and the often tree types. Sydney and Melbourne are very similar architecturally, with Sydney climate slightly warmer and hillier. Adelaide is slightly drier, and less green. Most of the city is flat except the outer part. Perth is quite windy, and has less vegetation than the east. Its soil is a bit more sandy as well. Brisbane is heading towards a more tropical climate. Hobart is boring, small, and just a massive mountain on one side, and a large river splitting the city in half. Its also colder, so darker green vegetation. Darwin is just humid, red, with a tropical climate. The more red the dirt, the closer you are to the center of the country. The only places even close to the colour of ouf center is in brazil and northern south africa/botswana. And lastly, 90% of our population live on the east coast, with Sydney and Melbourne taking up about 45% of that. Melbourne is more a harbour looking city, whilst Sydney has a more beach vibe
9:42 I've never been more excited than to see a shopping plaza in PA Ive been to before. I saw the AMC and instantly invoked memories I completely forgot about. Every shopping plaza here has some weird styling to it, but we love it
Texas’ roads look like that because the tar boils too easily so we tend to have a gravel topper. Especially for the highways. I have actually had tar stick to my shoe from walking on my residential road. Wasn’t even like they had recently redone the road. It was just hot. 😂
For help with the US and east coast vs west coast, look at the trees. You will see more deciduous trees (the ones with the leaves that fall off) on the east coast and more coniferous trees (needles) on the west coast. Unfortunately all shopping centers look about the same everywhere in the US, with the same shops so usually that won't give you much info.
Listened to this late at night and it was super comforting actually. The background music along with your voice that always manages to calm my usually overexcited brain. Thank you Iskall :D
I’m really enjoying these and as a graduate of the University of Mississippi, I was jumpscared seeing it pop up. For the record, Oxford, Mississippi was named after Oxford, England, because they wanted to build the university there. Oxford England donated a red double decker bus and a British phone booth.
I find it hilarious that the locations taken for Singapore is landed property. (I'm guessing even the thumbnail's pic is of SG.) I guess it makes sense when around the world people live in houses. Property houses here tend to have gates with walls, narrow roads, oh and blue and green bins. (That's for the ones I've seen anyways.)
20:08 wait until you learn about Oxford Ohio that has a college called Miami University and is mentioned specifically in The Office and is the most bland town you could imagine
12:48 The reflectors between the double yellow line: We have those a lot in Ohio, so they're not unique to The South. I would've guessed they're used all over the US.
I noticed in the Texas location the road had "I-20 Frontgage Road" superimposed. Our interstate highways follow a pattern that might be helpful to know. Even numbered interstates run east-west and increase in number value south-north. Odd numbered interstates run north-south and increase in number value west-east. Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico also have interstate highways and those begin with the letters A, H, and PR respectively.
I love geoguesser as well :) i was thinking when you doing the charity stream that you so lucky to get to travel to see friends in a different country, only to end up in.....detroit..... 😂😂
Saying you're not great at it, and yet you do more in 7 seconds than I can do in like 5 minutes while moving around looking for signs!! You're SO fast at this and I love when you explain what you saw that made you pick that area.
So you know for future times, we have the reflectors on the road here in Washington state too, so there’s at least one state that’s not southern that also uses them just in case you’re ever on one where that kinda throws you for any reason!
I dont usually watch your non-hermit videos but i did this time.. I am Malaysian and the thumbnail also gave me malaysian vibes, which lead me to watch this.. im quite proud and surprised your first confident guess there was somewhere Malaysia. caught me off guard too that it was singapore.
So I never understood why people liked to play geoguesser but I have to admit since I've been watching you play it's been growing on me, I especially liked this video because you explained your thoughts more. Also you say you're bad at the game but to me it certainly looks like you're at least pretty decent 👍.
Another detail about that one in Argentina: there was something along the road that looked like some kind of mile marker. Those are always little vertical signs in the US.
The spot in Washington looks to be a town called Raymond. Looks like you can see the top of a lumber mill in the background. I think I recognize the little church.
I've seen a number of people play geoguessr. This is legit the first time i've seen somewhere near where I live as a guessable location. Kind of wild to see someone have no idea when I immediately recognized it.
Crazy how good Iskall is at this, I didn't correctly guess any of these, I've never played Geoguesser or really traveled at all I don't know anything without landmarks that are well known
I noticed in both Singapore rounds that there were blue and green bins, along with green road signs. I've lived in Malaysia for 4 years and similar to Singapore, there's a lot of gated communities, so be sure to look out for that stuff. Also, the person walking the dog in the Singapore round did look like your 'average' Australian, so keep that in mind too.
Iskall you're very good at this. I used to play a lot and tried to note down things I noticed which gave me different answers from you. Feel free to disregard but maybe they'll help you a little bit. Trees in particular can give a lot of info about how cold an area gets and sometimes can be enough to narrow down to a particular region immediately. Color of the plants is also a big indicator and I can't put my finger on why exactly but plants usually can tell me if it's near the coast. With dirt there are only a couple of regions where the dirt is red and visible so make a note of it when you see it. Lastly, I've found a lot of success with the sky having a rift in it. The only two places I've seen with a rift in the sky consistently are Senegal and North Macedonia. Looking at the sky to determine if the sun is in the North vs the South can also be helpful to identify northern vs. southern hemisphere but might not be worth it often with only 40 seconds.
2:39 with the harbor and sea references on the businesses, the coast would have been a better guess and bigger mountains/hills would probably indicate more west coast than east coast.
yeah here in washington those are only hills! the mountains are much taller, (they must be hidden behind clouds or houses in the photo). i live in seattle and was actually tempted to to choose california for that one, as those hills look mostly the same during the entirety of the northern-pacific and i've seen them more south in california. it's weird how different rural areas look because of having such few trees and wide lawns.
I can't believe I guess Islay correct 😂 Even though I have been there, there was no clues apart from maybe Scotland and I just had this feeling that was it!
For future reference, you used the road reflectors as an indicator of being southern US, but they aren't unique to any region or anything. I wouldn't use them as a reference :)
I'm not an Aussie, but I've been led to understand that Melbourne is pronounced "Melbone" So drop the R and you'll have it right. (Or, if you don't believe this comment, just ask Pearl!)
You're really good, that's crazy! Just have to say tho, I'm from brazil, and uh, we really don't have palm trees besides the coast XD The area you picked is known for big plantations or the "pantanal" biome, which is lots of swamp like areas, the north is mostly amazon forest besides big cities, the north east is very dry besides the coast, south east and northen part of the south look more like that place at 16:00. The very south has a lot of very characteristic trees of the region called "araucária".
As an average American, I am absolutely terrible at geoguesser. But having researched a Japanese character from Fukuoka, I knew English was a big language in the area, explaining the English sign. So I actually guessed that one correct, but got the rest completely wrong 😂
if that's any help, at 22:13 the little white and yellow thing actually has the road name (or, well, its number) on it, you could have easily looked for the D155 (the d stands for départementale, so it's country side road number 155)
Haha that washington one was a hill not a mountain. The mountains you were pointing at all have year round snow the one in the picture was bairly a bump in comparison! But dang your good at this!
Of course you keep doing what you have fun with (as in this comment is not telling you what to do just feedback) but for me personally from an entertainment point of view, I would enjoy it without time limits, if you take your time to think through I think it would be the most fun. (Again at least for me)
Iskall: I am not that good, I’m trying my best…
Also Iskall: That car is unique to Senegal
haha
lol
that's just common geoguessr meta
LOL
24:43 the "no dumping" sign covered in wastes made me laugh (and sigh a little)
Iskall you teased us with Xisuma and you playing geoguesser.. can't wait for that vid
Dropping everything to put this on, the government work can wait, they get enough hours out of me.
This is grian every day working at the permit office.
"professional geogeussr would've slammed it down in the right area", the sign with the germanic language said heidelberg rofl
the sign says youre leaving the german town of Heidelberg
yeah that's what it means, but not really what's written on there ;)
The dejected “I forgot about Europe” at 13:55 is killing me
I was flabbergasted when the mall in Pennsylvania showed up because I live right down the road! This was very chill and and enjoyable to watch
Same! I had this on in the background and as soon as I heard Allentown I thought there's no way he's talking about Allentown PA
Dylans I get that you are exited please be careful about posting where you live on the internet

“Not a great geoguesser” he says. I’m from Texas and i don’t think i would have guessed Texas
9:42 I've never been more excited than to see a shopping plaza in PA Ive been to before. I saw the AMC and instantly invoked memories I completely forgot about. Every shopping plaza here has some weird styling to it, but we love it

I stumbled upon Doc's old geoguesser videos recently and have been craving more, Iskall to the rescue!!
Listened to this late at night and it was super comforting actually. The background music along with your voice that always manages to calm my usually overexcited brain. Thank you Iskall :D
Iskall absolutely killed it in the 10-second rounds!
The one feature common to both Singapore places is the unique trash cans they have
I’m really enjoying these and as a graduate of the University of Mississippi, I was jumpscared seeing it pop up.
For the record, Oxford, Mississippi was named after Oxford, England, because they wanted to build the university there. Oxford England donated a red double decker bus and a British phone booth.
You can differenciate Switzerland and Germany because the street signs have a different font
also 2/3 of Switzerland has big, alpine mountains while Germany barely has any of those. Most German mountains are more like big hills
That truck in Allentown has PA plates on it. They're not blue or yellow any more, haven't been for a long time.
I find it hilarious that the locations taken for Singapore is landed property. (I'm guessing even the thumbnail's pic is of SG.) I guess it makes sense when around the world people live in houses.

20:08 wait until you learn about Oxford Ohio that has a college called Miami University and is mentioned specifically in The Office and is the most bland town you could imagine
I got so much mail from that college when i was a senior in high school. Confused the hell out of me lol
Lmao wait till he finds about the sun trick so he knows if it's north hemisphere or southern
12:48 The reflectors between the double yellow line: We have those a lot in Ohio, so they're not unique to The South. I would've guessed they're used all over the US.
Yeah we have some of those in Maryland too
i love watching you play geoguessr and hearing your reasonings plus you're incredible at the game
I noticed in the Texas location the road had "I-20 Frontgage Road" superimposed. Our interstate highways follow a pattern that might be helpful to know. Literally the only reason I watch these kinds of videos is to hear UA-camrs talk about my country. You are always welcome in NZ iskall 😊
Damn you're great at this iskall!
I love geoguesser as well :) i was thinking when you doing the charity stream that you so lucky to get to travel to see friends in a different country, only to end up in.....detroit..... 😂😂
Kyushu is the name of the island where the University was at 4:32
@24:18 the singapore clue I use is the unique letter/fond on streetsigns (white letters on green sign with wide spacing in fond)
Saying you're not great at it, and yet you do more in 7 seconds than I can do in like 5 minutes while moving around looking for signs!! You're SO fast at this and I love when you explain what you saw that made you pick that area.

The Red Robin one is 15 min from my house.. lol yelling the answer didnt help you..
This was fun to watch, more of this please
I dont usually watch your non-hermit videos but i did this time..
I am Malaysian and the thumbnail also gave me malaysian vibes, which lead me to watch this.. im quite proud and surprised your first confident guess there was somewhere Malaysia. caught me off guard too that it was singapore.
I've never watched a geoguessr video and I was amazed how accurate you were! Would watch more for sure :>
Hahahahaha not me guessing my own country just off of the cracked roads! Lez go bad Macedonian roads! 🤣🤣
Loved the video!!! Would love more geoguesser videos
That Allentown one you thought was Cali-I felt like I’d been there at a place in San Jose. So weird it was very much not that place!
So I never understood why people liked to play geoguesser but I have to admit since I've been watching you play it's been growing on me, I especially liked this video because you explained your thoughts more. Also you say you're bad at the game but to me it certainly looks like you're at least pretty decent 👍.

LOVE these videos pls keep geoguessing lol!!
The spot in Washington looks to be a town called Raymond. Looks like you can see the top of a lumber mill in the background. I think I recognize the little church.
I love geoguesser, it's so addictive I can't let myself play anymore 😂
I actually beat Iskall on the University of Mississippi one because I've been there. Ole Miss, or, as we tigers call it, Ole Piss. Geaux Tigers.
Iskall: “the pros will probably get this immediately”
Me: … how did you even know what continent that was??
One way to locate Poland is the yellow warning road signs
just pulled texas out of thin air telling me things about my own state that i didnt even consciously notice. bravoskall
dont you love it when you see iskall new video and see your neighborhood photo in the thumbnail
as soon as round four came up I was like, thats the PNW!
i love iskall's elder scrolls esque streaming music lol
Love u Iskall ❤
I would not have guessed east coast either for the Allentown one
I've seen a number of people play geoguessr. This is legit the first time i've seen somewhere near where I live as a guessable location. Kind of wild to see someone have no idea when I immediately recognized it.
12:20 Look at those double yelow lines barely hanging on to colour, that's 100% argentina. we don't maintain roads lol
Crazy how good Iskall is at this, I didn't correctly guess any of these, I've never played Geoguesser or really traveled at all I don't know anything without landmarks that are well known
yeah those fake parking-lot Stop signs look crazy
I noticed in both Singapore rounds that there were blue and green bins, along with green road signs.

Yes, more geo guesser pls

that town must look a little weirder because it's southern washington and on a pacific coast bay
Can't wait to see Iskall in the Geoguessr world cup next year
Finally got South Africa.😂
As a kiwi we happy to have you over any time
Hey Iskall from Memphis, thought it was a great guess for the university of Mississippi. We were impressed that you new about Jackson and Memphis
Hello from Exeter, UK. You're a man of many talents, Iskall.
I am also from Exeter and have walked on that exact road multiple times before :0
YES please more geoguessr!!!
Nice try on the Aussie ones. I didn't know them and I live here.
Love me some Geoguesser
I can't believe I guess Islay correct 😂 Even though I have been there, there was no clues apart from maybe Scotland and I just had this feeling that was it!
You should invite captain sparklez to this
As a Michigander I immediately know which one was Michigan 😂
09:05
Huh. I would have guessed Scranton.
For future reference, you used the road reflectors as an indicator of being southern US, but they aren't unique to any region or anything. I wouldn't use them as a reference :)
Kyushu is the whole island in Japan haha, now you know!
I'm not an Aussie, but I've been led to understand that Melbourne is pronounced "Melbone" So drop the R and you'll have it right. (Or, if you don't believe this comment, just ask Pearl!)
There’s a good Thai place in that shopping center in Allentown

TBF all suburban England looks the same
How he got Argentina is beyond me
This game encourages stereotypes, NZ could of been almost all of them
austria also speaks german so that was a solid guess
Not sure how iskall calls himself not very good when in fact hes great
if that's any help, at 22:13 the little white and yellow thing actually has the road name (or, well, its number) on it, you could have easily looked for the D155 (the d stands for départementale, so it's country side road number 155)
Mountains in Alaska don’t look like that
omg Singapore thumbnail
That was amazing!!!
Haha that washington one was a hill not a mountain. The mountains you were pointing at all have year round snow the one in the picture was bairly a bump in comparison! But dang your good at this!
not iskall having beef with Mississippi lol
Im so suprised how fast you gussed
one second in: "Spain"
"Israel"
"Turkey"
I am Turkish yet I have no idea how Iskall figured that out so easily :O
Of course you keep doing what you have fun with (as in this comment is not telling you what to do just feedback) but for me personally from an entertainment point of view, I would enjoy it without time limits, if you take your time to think through I think it would be the most fun. Why take a plane when you can just do this in your lunch break
very nice
8:42 - I am severely bothered by the serifs on the stop signs. Why are there serifs on the stop signs.
Mooooreee!!!
HALLO
I think I have actually been at the 25:08 place before and I recognised it! What are the chances!
yo iskall im watching this about 20 miles away from exeter lol
