Here’s what it means to me - In Episode 4, "Penny and Dime," Frank tells Daredevil that his daughter's favorite book when she was alive was One Batch, Two Batch. Thus the reason for The Punisher quoting the book ("One batch, two batch, penny and dime") before he murders people - it serves as a reminder for why he became a vigilante.

There is no character in comic history as great as Frank castle. He isn’t a superhero he is a man of morals whom adheres to a strict moral code. Those morals are to have no limits when it comes to hurting the corrupt and guilty while not giving a damn what anyone thinks of what he does. He is the truest to himself than any other character and has been fleshed out over the years better than any other .especially thanks to Garth Ennis who is a scholar of war and what it does to a man like Frank Castle who gets a real taste for it and looks it right in the eyes and excels at it. The punisher isn’t some spandex clad wuss whom is confused. Instead frank castle is a man who is a great soldier that was given a new mission when his family was butchered and it’s a mission he has no problem carrying on alone and doing the unthinkable and brutal to those who have it coming. The show is great the books where they keep castle grounded in reality away from super powers and tights are even better. Ideally I wish the punisher could still be a Vietnam veteran giving that a war like Nam was a much darker place for for the brutal roots of castles morals are an even better breeding ground. Given the right writers the punisher will always be a brutal ,unapologetic and tragic character which should give any good writer a lot to work with. Let’s keep hoping for great writing and directing to tell the punishers tale.

Season 1 was about revenge, season 2 should be about consequences. Frank's actions coming to bite him in the ass. The Punisher is a perpetually tragic figure. He can't come back from the abyss he fell into. I would like to see season 2 get right what the 89 film and War Zone got wrong. Those movies had a really good theme to them but the execution (no pun intended) was bad. I have high hopes that the series could properly tell the type of story those movies failed to tell. The Punisher kills the bad guys, but what does he do when the innocent start to suffer for his actions?
And because Netflix and the Marvel execs who run the TV series on the streaming service are tightwads, we will never get to see that. We get Season 2 and then boom, cancelled.
I believe that that is not the case with him. Punisher does not face consequences for most of his actions, because he basically kills the bad guys. You see, the point of this character, is to stop criminals once and for all. No second chances, no redemption for them. He just, ends them. A good storyline for him, I believe would follow him as he regrets everything he has done, and realises that he has become what he was fighting against. Evil. But he would not give up. When a new enemy comes, he would try to stop him non-lethally, and then redeem himself. Either by living as peacefully as a normal person, or by dying like a hero, and finally return to his family. Regrets, are the only consequences for his actions. On Daredevil, in comparison, every choice matters. Either he makes one as Matt Murdock or as the Devil Of The Hell Kitchen, it will have a serious impact on both of his lifes. Because he does not kill. His enemies return eventually, and thats why he wants to eliminate them. But he doesent. So he always ends up in trouble, even if he makes the good choice. But that makes him a very moral character. He has a code. Even if he likes what he is doing. Punisher has crossed the line. He may saves people, but does not know when to stop. I know he had his family killed, and I believe if I had his abilities, I would probably act as him if I was in his shoes. But, only if you control yourself, even in this situations, then you can be called, a hero. A man who puts the lives of others above his own. No matter who they are, and what they have done. To let them face justice.
But I also believe that season 2 was poorly executed. In this particular plot, Frank, was supposed to face tough consequences, as he chose not to kill Russo, and he has returned. But we see none of that. He just gets away with it and saves the day once again.
@Monzive I would have loved to seen a season 3 and a Punisher movie with Jon Bernthal but disney/Marvel is too scared to do that
I think you got your wish. Season 2 was even better than and one of the reasons was the consequences both real and perceived.

This video and this character speaks to me in way and on levels most people won't understand. I was sent to do things that most people could not do. You get so good at being in the dark it becomes comforting. As time passes by you begin to realize the light hurts your eyes. I dont know what to think..
I have children and could never imagine.
Its not the criminals he kills, its not the vengence he has, its not about the hurt to me...because to be honest, i felt it when i watched it and understood.
But the guns...the endless guns. Im scared for my children everyday they go to school. Telling this story creates a feeling in all of us, that makes us look a little different at someone who has hurt us, or someone we hate. We feel the punisher, how bad ass it would be to just hurt that person back. But this world needs to change. Sadly, its moving too fast the other way. Kids don't play the same anymore, constantly fed advertising, promoting,..parents are less interactive with them, shows about suicide, violence and death. Video games the same. I appreciated this story and the feeling of realness it created. But the real feeling this entire planet from top to bottom needs...is Hope. Not vengence.

In the comics it was just a shoot out between to rival gangs from when he got back from Nom. Like the joker it took one bad day and it made the punisher, the fictional man who ripped apart the mafias

It might be post apocalyptic or hopefully pretty underground cyberpunk hardcore all over the place against pretty much the same enemy, just turned loos from their actual bosses. And he needs more rides like Batman...splinter cell mexican kartell hits, toxic rocker club house clean outs, ISIS desert strongholds destructions, Sahel Zone bandits extermination, mineing manager urban assassinations, corrupt Police take outs, refugee camp active security campaignes, toxic drug smuggling interceptions, you name it...
