      @@skp8748 You are wrong. Apparently, the nuclear option is contingent on IAF to stop enemy advancements inside Israel.
      if IAF cannot perform its strategic tasks, Israel would devastate the other country(ies) so that country would not devastate Israel.
      It is not rage quit, it is "rage stay". The suggested amount of nukes points to tactical destruction of ports, bases and routes.
      But the point became moot since Merkava Mk 4. That MBT fleet ensures no army can conquest Israel anymore.

A PhD named Brozio was recruited from Germany to teach but later went to work for the SA nuclear program. SA was energy embargoed and so built a nuclear power plant who's cooling towers are next to the road into Cape Town. The irony is that Dr. Brozio used to come over to our house and we would play "Risk" - a board game of geopolitical maneuver and conquest...

    When asked by the US if Israel had developed nuclear weapons, the Israeli response was "We won't be the first to use nuclear weapons (actually I think they used the polite term "introduce" instead of use) in the middle east". The clear sub-text was, that Israel would be close (as in minutes of attack) second to "introduce" nuclear weapons into the middle east (or wherever else they are needed).

      Militaries use nuclear tests to show their enemies that they have nuclear capabilities, which acts as a deterrent.
      Many militaries make no secret of tests, which are displayed for this benefit.
      It would be in Israel's favour to display such capabilities to its neighbours ending the question as to whether they could seriously consider invasion.
      More importantly Israel is at the end of the day a US vassal state and America has full access to it, as well as fully functional military bases on its soil.
      Hence I don't think they have nuclear capabilities but if the USA launches a nuclear weapon in the Middle East, it will not be taking responsibility for it.
      It has groomed and developed its narrative.
      Israel will certainly be the culprit.

    Further reading: "The Samson Option", Seymour Hersh. Superb book.
    The situation is - if Israel were to acknowledge possession of nuclear weapons, under the terms of the NPT, the United States would be bound by its own laws to cut off foreign and military aid to Israel. Neither country wants that, so they are both content to maintain the status quo of "nuclear opacity".

    • @majestichotwings6974
      @majestichotwings6974 3 роки тому +27

      so the sampson option is basically just one last "fuck you" to any conquering army? Thats certainly a terrifying thought to think about, a defeated Isreal detonating a nuke in a place like Jeruselum to deny it to the enemy, which granted, is pretty unlikely considering what that place means to Jews around the world, but that's the city I think of when I think Isreal. That actually reminds me of the scene in CoD4 when the US marine force takes a nuke right to the face when they capture the middle eastern city, I think that shit traumatized me as a kid lol. But in all seriousness, I fear the day that I live to see something like that in a real news headline.

      @ComaDave 3 роки тому +47

      @@majestichotwings6974 Oh, yeah. Who could forget that scene? Took me a while to pry my jaw off the floor.
      I don't think they'd actually suicide themselves, they want to project the idea that, if their defeat was imminent...everybody whose capital city was in range of their missiles would become a target. It wouldn't matter if you were friend, foe or neutral. Certainly Moscow would be one of the first.
      Whether or not it's a bluff...the point is:
      "Don't attack us. Don't allow us to be attacked. We're batshit crazy."
      The fact that they've conducted unilateral military attacks on several of their neighbours throughout their history tends to add weight to that threat in the eyes of the world.

      is the same nuclear isotope that has claimed well over 10,000 deaths in New York the same as the recent explosion wiping Beirut off the map?- is that your 'test'?
      is it also the very same one found in the Donbass from the massive explosion several years back?... think you may find they are. All from the same reactor.? All with same low yield, low contamination profile. Cause all 3 do have traces of some nasty isotopes' And every reactor has it own one.
      2016 in a recorded interview, a minister of the state claimed they had over 120 warheads. its not the amount that was shocking it was that the thin veil of denial of international law had been discarded. Since, at least 3 Govt officials have verified these claims. All public common knowledge. Just need to read Hebrew?
      check out the Russian Defence Minister address to the Congress in 1992 or 1993. Around the time of Yeltsin's elevation. From that the US changed its doctrine to recieve a first strike and that tactical Nagasakis are A ok to use. Once you digest that try find out exactly why was the US officer corps of missile command changed in 2014-2015 (i know its not called missile Command)

    A great book about this program is called “The Sampson Option”, it outlined the history of the program up until the early 90s, including Israel’s nuclear targeting of the USSR and how they used this fact to leverage weapons purchases from the US.
    Fun fact: according to the book, the worker that Binkov mentioned as being a whistle blower, Mordecai Vananu, was actively discredited by and set up for a honey trap by Ghislane Maxwell’s father, Robert Maxwell who was both a media mogul and Mossad asset.

    I listened to a talk from a LLNL nuclear proliferation expert once he said that Israel has more advanced stuff than they thought and that was worrisome because the US thought that kind of advanced stuff can only be developed with testing. This is worrisome to the US because either a) Israel can conduct tests without the US knowing them or b) Israel can develop something without testing that the US could only develop with testing (in the past). Also, the 1981 Osirak reactor bombing had a funny exchange of words, the US was telling Israel not to worry about that Iraqi reactor, and Israel replied, we have the same type of reactor we know exactly what can be done with it so let us worry about it - a lot. The US intelligence also missed just how advanced the South African nuclear program was (far more advanced than they thought it became clear after the apartheid ended). Other than these two, the US intelligence was quite spot on regarding other nuclear programs in the world. We also asked him if there are briefcase nukes and if any are missing and he told us ha cannot answer the first question, but none are missing :))))

      Israel gave an important contribution to french nuclear programme in the 50-ies and, as reward, had got full access to data. So Israel actually DID her own tests. Intelligence from Soviet documents - lots of soviet nuclear and mathematical experts were actually Hebrews- and open source pubblications could have given Israel the knowledge in order to realize "missile-sized" warheads. Supercomputers from 1985 could have given the capabilty to perform "minitests" with small warheads and to extrapolate by computiing to larger yelds

They can't risk that because they get most of their funding and weapons from the west, there's also the risk of international sanctions as well but that's less of a threat since the US always protects them. While at the same time they want to make it clear to their neighbors that they do have nuclear weapons so no one dares to attack them, and of course they absolutely want to avoid anyone developing parity with them because that'd make them lose their upper hand and force them to reveal that they have nukes.
    One thing is certain though, a nuclear war would almost certainly start with Isreal.

    According to French media, French help to build the Israeli nuclear bomb was the price France paid for Israeli participation in the Suez-war of 1956 according to French media. Without it, Israel did not feel safe enough to participate in the Suez war. This is an open secret which you hear on French media, supported by recorded testimony of key figures of the time. The later Israeli president of state Shimon Perez led these negotiations in 1956. Israel officially never answered the question if they have nuclear weapons or not. Israel never intimidated anyone with its nukes, but they keep them as a last reserve. When in 1974 in the Jom Kippur war Israel seemed about to loose the war, they activated their nuclear missiles, but never fired them.

As far as I know there are no reliable sources of Israel ever being serious about such attacks nor does it make strategic sense for them to antagonize Pakistan much less attack them directly, their geopolitical game focuses solely on their own existential issues

    Everyone knows about the nuclear reactor at Dimona and it's been targeted this year. In April, Syria launched a rocket at Dimona , which Israel reportedly failed to intercept. Of course, since it exploded harmlessly, it's possible that is really interceptors were never fired at it since the tracking reader determined that it wasn't going to hit anything. 3 weeks later, Hamas fired multiple rockets at Dimona. Israel has a multi-layered defense around the city and nuclear reactor.
