My mom would drop us off on a Saturday in the early afternoon (early 1960’s) and we would spend the rest of the day watching a double feature over and over. They were a great babysitter.
Bravo. We discovered the Fox theater this past October for the Harry Potter show, thanks to the people that gave us the Spokane Symphony brochure at their Labor Day Liberty Lake performance - -and fell in love with it. This theater is majestic. We're returning March 16th for the Raiders Of The Lost Ark movie on Fox's new big screen with the symphony playing the movie's music. Then School Of Rock in May.
😃" CONGRATULATIONS, SPOKANE!.... I particularly loved seeing It's meticulous restoration undertaking, further exciting Me about my own (Peoria, IL) hometown's similar upcoming landmark ' Madison Theater ' renaissance. "
I AM AMAZED ...IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL IF THIS WAS DONE TO ALL THE REMAINING THEATERS AROUND THE COUNTRY FOR THEIR HISTORICAL VALUE & CREATIVITY . IT IS BEAUTIFUL... THANK YOU.............
joe smyth remember going here all the time. my girlfriend and i would start at riverfront park alot and walk up by the Davenport it was closed then but windows still displayed art after grabbing an espresso we would look at the art on our way to see a movie there at the Fox. Years we went there to see dollar movies almost every other weekend. This place is wild how much craftsmanship like sculptured walls red carpet was still used and even in 93 this place those days was great. Should still be showing movies the Garland was another grand theatre that was amazing two words two words SCIENCE-FICTION DOUBLE FEATURE the real red and green show.
I hope someone does a documentary on the New Theater, in New Freedom, Pennsylvania. They were way ahead of their time, by installing a refrigerated vending machine that prevented the Dots and Jujubes from sticking together. And, they sold genuine Bortner's soft drinks.
This film is about an ORNATE COLLECTION OF BRICKS & MORTAR where HumanBeings went to view the art of cinematography ! Presented here on medium that is renowned for having no boundaries , where technology long ago surpassed the oily composition of celluloid film. Its a proper "time piece" with some very qualified commentary and experts. What do you know about FOX television? , what do you know about William Fox ?

I miss when it was a dollar movie theater in the 80's and 90's...but I admit that it does look a lot better now than it did back then!
I hope someone does a documentary on the New Theater, in New Freedom, Pennsylvania. They were way ahead of their time, by installing a refrigerated vending machine that prevented the Dots and Jujubes from sticking together. And, they sold genuine Bortner's soft drinks.
Excellent and well put together presentation! Ditto
