I think that oil catch cans are a good idea, but one of the great things about the lexus engines is they are dual injected, so the oil and crud that gets into intake is being continuously cleaned. The main problem from what I understand is that if you have a direct injection engine that crud gets in the intake and forms carbon on the intake and valves and never gets cleaned, over time this can cause major issues. But the lexus engines continuously clean themselves so you shouldn't have any of the long term issues related to that.
So is RR racing lying? "During on track testing and data logging, it became clear that the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) was allowing for significant ingestion of oil into the engine (see diagram in the photo gallery of this product). Oil ingestion results in ignition retard due to the low octane of engine oil as it burns up. Additionally, oil burning in the engine results in carbon deposits on the intake valves, pistons, and combustion chamber which further increases the propensity for power-robbing detonation. You don't have to take your IS to the track to benefit from our Air/Oil Separator. Anyone who drives aggressively on twisty roads with hard acceleration and deceleration will benefit from avoiding oil ingestion into the engine."
I bought oil separator, thinking rcf has Direct injection , and found info about rcf v8 has Direct and port injection d4s system which cleans inteke valves... do you recommend to install it? I think it is not worth..
Just a critical thinking passing by. But isn't the 5L V8 able to function in Atkinson cycle ? Meaning, you will have your intake valve not closing early to allow pressure to escape. Could this contribute to chase some vapours in the intake zone ?
So the stock one doesn’t work? Or RR have a larger capacity or something ? Why didn’t you a black hose set ? Plastidip is gonna melt Also men in earmuffs is weird
You empty as it fills up. If u track the car or Wil fill up on one day. But normal street driving u can drive for months before having fto to empty it. No I don't add new oil
Their warranty? They would have to prove the catch can did something to harm the engine. In which case will never happen since the can goes in line to the stock pcv system it just filters out the oil gases
@@BulletsGarage Thanks! love your videos cause its the only bunch of f car insider on the internet. I just got rcf and I wanted an f since I was 15, I want it to last along as possible lol. idont even drive it hard really. so any other recommendations are sick. thanks

Ur on point. Exactly right.

I agree the car Wil benefit from the separator for even normal street use

I have mine and it collects oil so it's ur call
Man I had no idea love your videos, ordering the catch can and heat shield.
Thanks man
If this is so bad how come Lexus doesnt have it this way from the factory? Serious question...thanks!
I just picked got the RR intake today, catch can will be ordered soon.
Very nice their intake is great.
Ever consider putting in a garage heater? Run a gas line out there and keep it 50 degrees all winter long.
If I did lots of work in the garage all year then yes. But for the few times during the winter I’m in there it’s not worth it.
yeah coz gas is free......
I got an is350 but thinking of getting an isf or a Gsf in the future love ur videos bro!
Nice. I definitely recommend getting a F car !! They are great.
*just picked one up thanks bullets garage... btw why does it look like his eyelids are always halfway down lol*
That’s just my eyes lol.

Yes.

It’s a civic lol ...... no need for anything .... those rice cookers go for ever ....
Angel Aponte brown rice please!!!

Good stuff!

Buddy it’s two bolts
Not needed if car is daily driven and never tracked?
A P I’m pretty sure bullets garage daily drives it aside from winter. And in the city where u are stop and go
Yup I daily drive mine and look how much was inside of my car. And that’s all street driving no track time.
Not sure if I missed but how often do you have to check it? And do you add back new oil in the same amount that was collected?
Thanks.

No I don't add new oil
Bullets Garage thanks,
Oh so the oil collected is not a big concern that it can wait for the next oil change.
That good to know.
theflyerpr40d that would only be if the mechanic empties it right?
Did u ever do an install video?
Don't recall seeing one. XD
Sure did. ua-cam.com/video/T3D23JTj5lM/v-deo.html
How does it influence the Lexus guarantee?
Their warranty? They would have to prove the catch can did something to harm the engine. In which case will never happen since the can goes in line to the stock pcv system it just filters out the oil gases
so between oil catch can and intake, is there any other products you recommend to have keep reliability with the car?
Oil catch can is all u need. Intake won't really do much

How often do you have to empty it
I emptied it once a year and it's about half full. If u track the car it will fill it way more and way faster
@@BulletsGarage thanks for the feedback
