My father told me the story of this song and how my great-grandmother sang it when he visited her over 60 years ago in Chile. Her name was Adalina. I am so happy I found it. Just beautiful ❤😢
I consider Estralita, melody and lyrics as the most heart-rendering, romantic music piece of all time. Thank you so much Ailyn - your performance does justice to this work in every way.
Manuel M Ponce', "Estrellita," one of the most beautiful romantic ballads composed. Eilyn Perez one of the leading sopranos on the music circuit, gave a very excellent performance. However, she is not in the same musical league as the incomparable Deanna Durbin. Estrellita conclusively belongs to Deanna Durbin. Golden words of high 'C' texture by Peter E. Farrar.
Interersting arrangement. The pianist was playing "So Many Stars" and then went into "Estrellita". Memories of when my ex used to play this song on his classical guitar.
Wondering if anyone else had caught the snippet of the Sérgio Mendes, Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman song, So Many Stars, I was specifically looking for this comment. My absolute favorite recording of So Many Stars is by the late, Ludar. The accompanist’s intro evokes the Ludar version of the song. Exquisite.
Bella canción que hace muuuuuucho cantaba un señor creo que Juan Albizu y yo era chica pero siempre la recuerdo. Se la dedica a la niña Estrella o Estrellita como la llamamos
Peter Farrar:- Manuel M Ponce' composed one of the most beautiful romantic ballads, "Estrellita." Ailyn Perez(needs to loose weight) soprano, gave a reasonable performance. However, her high 'C' at max volume was questionable. To be realestic, she is not in the same musical league as super sopranos Deanna Durbin or Kathryn Grayson, or Lily Ponds. Miss Durbin's version is the best recording beyound question. Words of justified criticism by Peter E. Farrar. 3:570:502:50
She's not a soprano coloratura and not a lyrical soprano either. She may be a lyrical - spinto soprano, this kind of soprano has sounds with more richness / body in the low and medium notes of her register then a lyrical and a light or soprano coloratura (yes, there's subclasses of sopranos) .

Bellisima voz que le hace honores al gran compositor y a su igualmente bellisima composición. Es un bálsamo para el alma

Where can I find this piece version of Estrellita?
Deanna Durbin hace la versión mas bella de todas

Why is the voice is so heavy though.

Gran cantante y virtuosa voz, pero alardea mucho su voz y se carga la armonía.
A version sung in English would be cool, how about in more languages like German, French, Italian, or another one of my favorites Russian.
