I am glad. If you are saddle shopping and want to know what to look for, I recently did a webinar about the basics. The cost is $20.00 and you can find it here. www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/678Q8F5ZSMKB8
Hi Dave, I just watched your saddle fit video, subbed to your channel and now am wondering if you market your saddles? Thank you for your videos, you're a wealth of information.
Yes I do! aboutthehorse.com You may also be interesting in my facebook saddle fitting group. facebook.com/groups/579364745952733/?multi_permalinks=1482258998996632¬if_id=1709129557881130¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic&ref=notif
I totally agree with your points about the Circle Y Flex saddles! As an Independent Saddle Fitter, I have seen firsthand the damage they will do! I wanted to ask about the demonstration of the Ortho-Flex type saddle, and yes I understand for demonstration purposes it is a gross exaggeration for visual aid, as stated. I did some independent studies with some clay forms, and had a rider test the theory, because I was curious. The impressions left on the clay pad were firm, even, and did not show the increased areas of pressure under those 4 points like I was warned about. So I'm curious if you have evidence you might share regarding those trees? I love to learn, and am always open to an evidenced based approach to saddle fitting.
My opinion is based on my experience with hundreds of horses and basic logic and reason. I am using well-established Newtonian principles and common sense. Yes you can argue that Newtonian physics is obsolete with current thinking in quantum mechanics however most agree that within this limited physical reality, it remains an accurate model. For me to accept the clay pad as accurate data you would need to demonstrate that the clay was evenly distributed and that you had created a graph of zones and thicknesses in each zone and then index those zones to the corresponding zones on the saddle. After riding I would need to see the thickness measurements in each zones.
Thank you! This finally confirms exactly what I was seeing on 2 horses I am riding for a client. The dam saddles keep sliding off center and makes it difficult to even ride. I know I'm not comfortable in the saddle and the horses both show signs it's hurting them. The one already has fistula scar and latigo scars on both sides of girth. I would rather brake a horse bareback and I actually did dump the one saddle before I took the first ride. Luckily my first experience with these saddles included well behaved broke horses.. Personal opinion I think these saddles are junk!
The fact saddles have come this far since I started learning is just AMAZING! Anything to make the horse happier!
You just prevented me from purchasing a flex tree. Thank you

Good to know that after so much meaningful chatting in FB.

Which brand is this?
Brand doesn't matter it is the concept that is flawed.
So, why even buy one! Not me.
The marketing of these saddles is not good for the horse or saddle fit.
